Big Daddy's came up during our research and did not disappoint! Although there was a solid line on a Friday evening, it moved fairly quickly. When it was our turn to order, the staff was super patient and helpful; we didn't feel rushed at all. Loved that there was a menu listing of all flavors outside which we were able to review while in line - and were better poised to make a flavor decision when we got to the counter. This small but busy shop was full of great energy and charm, and we lived the outdoor seating space too. Walking out with coffee Heath, bubblegum, almond joy, and Oreo - we were a happy bunch with this sweet ending to our night! Although there are many great ice cream places in Ogunquit - this is by far my favorite. They have 46 flavor and some are very unique to their place. I love trying out different flavors and they never disappoint. If you order the small size you can get 2 flavors. Blueberry ice cream was amazing and the flavor lasted. It did not get muted after a while. The texture was spot on. There was a long line as it was Saturday night, and there were only two employees working and one had broke her toe, hobbling around and was a little slower. I enjoyed the red raspberry chip (which had thick chocolate chunks) mixed with chocolate peanut butter chip, while my husband had the Maine blueberry pie. But it's ridiculous that you have to pay NINE DOLLARS just to have some small ice cream. Enjoyed the ice cream that my wife and I had, but frankly don't quite agree with all the positive reviews. Rather than "creamy" we found the ice cream quite "gummy." If we put a spoon into the ice cream, it was actually a little difficult to pull it out and the ice cream stretched out a lot- like gum that you pull apart. Aside from that, the ice cream tasted fresh. My banana ice cream had a fairly strong flavor and lots of added chocolate pieces. The peach was fairly weak and could have used a little more peach pieces. The place is cute and welcoming and service was good and friendly. absolutely fantastic blueberry pie. holy cow. holy buttery crust. paired with a huge scoop of their vanilla ice cream, you can almost hear the angels singing. or maybe it's the teenage worker screaming about the multiple customers walking through the door at the same time and shockingly(?) asking for ice cream. i love her though. this is in no way a complaint about her. in fact she made the experience better. really gave big daddy's some strong personality. i am currently typing this as i sit outside on the front benches watching groups of people enter and waiting to hear a distant but strong shriek of despair. incredible food, incredible vibes, incredible entertainment. 100/10 read more

First I sampled the blueberry pie flavor but the pieces of pie crust were huge and dry I ordered the vanilla reece's pieces flavor without sampling because that's my favorite candy and I love vanilla ice cream. But the ice cream had a bizarre gritty, grainy texture that I couldn't ignore. I could feel the granules in my hand when the ice cream melted. I am a local and frequent this ice cream store with my children. The ice cream is homemade and they have lots of toppings. But the reason I am writing is because there are lots of ice cream stores in southern Maine but we come here every time because our daughter has a peanut allergy. I do know it is our responsibility and our risk to protect our child, but Big Daddy's has a Nut Allergy awareness sign to alert them to allergies. I told the young women on 5/10 that our daughter had a peanut allergy and they opened a new ice cream and got a clean scoop and even had designated sprinkles. I'm so impressed and thankful that an ice cream store went through all that trouble to best serve my daughter. Excellent service , I will always recommend Big Daddy's. Thank you. read more
