We always drive by this spot when driving home and decided to try it out today after I was hankering for some ice cream. It's located right off Rte 1 and is next to a Dunkin Donuts. They have plenty of parking and a good sized menu of ice cream options. Sometimes an ice cream shop tries to be more than just an ice cream shop which can make a menu a confusing and overwhelming. Mrs & me focuses on what they do best, which is ice cream so I appreciate the straightforward menu and the tasty ice cream. The girls who work here are also super friendly and very helpful. They had 6- 7 flavors and some very unique ones (coconut, raspberry chip, red, white & blueberry) as well as vanilla, chocolate and mint chocolate chip, coffee, Reese's. I tried the red white and blueberry which is vanilla ice cream with white chocolate chips, sea salt and blueberries. I liked the unique flavor, however it had way too much salt in it. Wow oh wow. Just wow! What a great find! I am actually stunned by how good this place is. First, their ice cream is among the best I've ever had! I am coffee ice cream Conoseeur. For the past several years, most ice crea manufacturers have gone cheap on the ingredients that make for really good coffee ice cream. That has made it nearly impossible to find any high quality and tasty coffee ice cream. This place does it right. Their coffee ice cream is absolutely phenominal. Secondly, their portion size. They have five sizes for their ice cream sundaes, one through five scoop. I got the three scoop, which I figured would be the equivalent of a "large" at most other ice cream shops. What I ended up getting was this hugh mountain of ice cream! Two people could quite easily share this. The hot fudge on it was also of very high quality! Third their staff. Very kind, friendly and professional people. I will be back. One more thing to love about Kittery, Maine!!! As a note: there is no indoor seating, only a few outdoor tables and a few rocks you can sit on! There is the small Old Kittery Cemetery, which has only a little over a dozen plots within a fenced in area you can walk around. Otherwise, most people eat in their cars. read more

I have been coming for years and have been thankful that they offer several dairy free options, though having to pay an extra dollar just for sorbet is a bit much. Nonetheless, this year I've gone twice. First time I was served dairy ice cream instead of dairy free & thankfully noticed it after the first bite. It was coffee Oreo. I will say that both the dairy and dairy free ones were disgusting. The flavor was just so artificial and weak. My boyfriend had a coffee frappe and again, flavor was so blah. I went again this week hoping to give them another try. I got the watermelon sorbet and it just tasted like a cold frozen sugar substance. No watermelon flavor. My boyfriend opted for a huge hot fudge sundae and it was gross. I couldn't even smell the coffee ice cream. If you want good ice cream check out the ice cream house or village scoop in York. This local ice cream stand (scooping since 1948) closed in 2000, but was purchased, rebuilt, and reopened last year after the seven year hiatus. Dunkin' Donuts shares the space next door. Mrs & Me serves up great tasting homemade ice cream including hard ice cream (over 28 flavors), soft serve, yogurt, sugar free, sorbet, sherbet in cones, dishes plus sundaes, banana (Mr. & Mrs.) splits, The Hurricane (mix-ins), slushes, Frappes, floats, ice cream sodas. Freezes, frozen cappuccino, and Coke drinks. The price of a small cone starts at $3.25 plus tax. The place has several outside takeout windows with numbers & lines painted on the concrete to keep the crowds organized and service efficient. So I have been Mrs & Me customer for a LONG time probably 20+ years, and I am one flavor kind of guy - french vanilla. Before the previous owner passed 2 years ago, the french vanilla flavor was much stronger. I stopped by today and it was a substantially weaker flavor. Stopped here on the way back from lunch in York with our dog. Outside seating and an outside ordering window is obviously a must when traveling with your canine! My husband thought his butter pecan ice cream was pretty good - the ice cream was very creamy but he said the pecans were kind of mushy. The small was pretty good size! He couldn't even finish it all. I was a bit bummed because they do not actually have vegan/dairy free sherbet. Maybe they did at one time but, as I am writing this, they said said nope. I got strawberry sorbet instead which was very good - very flavorful. You know how some sorbets can be really icy? This was not :) We had our tiny 5lbs Pomeranian with us so, obviously, she wanted ice cream as well. They don't offer a "doggie dish" as some places do. My husband ordered the smallest size and asked them only to give him a tiny half scoop. They still charged him for a small which I thought was kind of crummy but hey, capitalism rules these days and there's no deals for doggies anymore I guess. Anyway... Our little pommy princess was more than thrilled! I'll post a pic. The texture was super creamy and she loved it - even though she only ate a couple tablespoons LOL. Yummy! A little ice cream shop on our way up to Ogunquit, Maine. My dad and I had lunch earlier and were in the mood for some ice cream even though it was a cold afternoon. We drove by this place and thought it would be cool to check out. He got ice cream and said it was good (not the best ever but good) and I got the blackberry (or some fruit) sorbet. It was delicious! Like super creamy, better than most sorbet I have. Plus their sorbet is labeled vegan just to be extra awesome. They were nice. I went again on June 9, 2022, and as always, the girls there were super nice. The ones who took my order were a brunette and blonde girl. I ordered a Nor'estah with a heath bar and oreo in a twist base (chocolate and vanilla soft serve) and it was amazing! It was sweet, but it wasn't as sweet as the DQ blizzards. The heath bar and oreo tasted very authentic and the bits and piece of it can be clearly seen! Overall, it was a great experience that deserves a 5/5 rating. Here I was outlet shopping in Maine when the urge hit. No, I didn't need the loo, I needed an ice cream fix! Thankfully, I remembered seeing this stand right next to the DD just a teensy bit past the outlets. So I drove over. It was pretty busy even for a rainy Thursday evening. They have enough flavors to give you a choice without having so many you'll stand there in a daze. I decided to finagle my PB&J ice cream fixation by getting a 2 scoop with black raspberry chip and Reese's peanut butter fudge. When I told her I wanted a 2 scoop, I was asked if I wanted large scoops or small. When I got the pricing - $4.25 for the larger, $3.75 for the smaller - I went with the smaller. The black raspberry chip was a fro-yo, which is the norm. It had tons of chips but was a bit icy tasting. The peanut butter had a chocolate ice cream base with lots of peanut buttery flavor running through it. It was pretty good but between the iciness of the fro-yo and the $4.25 for a "bigger" 2 scoop, I would probably wait til I was closer to home next time. read more

Was out showing my parents around Southern Maine, and was headed toward the Kittery outlets after a HUGE lunch of lobster, when my dad spotted the "Mrs & Me homemade ice cream" sign and DEMANDED that we stop and get ice cream. Amazing. And pretty cheap. I believe it was $3.25 for one scoop... but be forewarned, the "one scoop" is the equivalent of 2 regular sized scoops. The ice cream cones we all received were GIANT. My dad looked like a kid as he sat there with ice cream dripping all over him, but I've never seen him look happier. Be warned, on hot days you will get covered with sticky ice cream. My parents kept talking about how much this place would rock if it opened a stand in NY, and my mom stood in front of their "history" wall exclaiming about how Hilda (the woman who originally opened the place in 1948) looked like a movie star (back in 1948). She finally snapped out of it when we started driving away without her... :) Seriously, totally worth the visit if you're in the area for shopping/lobster as we were. I got the Heath Bar Crunch, and it was sticky sweet and awesome. read more
