Best place in the area to get ice cream! So many flavors to choose from! Fast, Friendly service and picnic tables out back!

Aggie's is the best place in southern Maine to get an ice cream. Best prices, Yummiest ice cream, yogurt, sundaes and cones, happiest customers, prettiest waitresses, and best owners ever! There is plenty of parking, and picnic tables in the back. Located on a country road across from the town recycling center. A nice walk or drive. Bring your grannie, bring the kids. I scream you scream. We all scream for ice cream! woo hoo! Aggie's rocks!

I love their ice cream. They have sorbet for vegan or dairy free people. They have lots of different choice. I really recommend here.

An incredible number of flavors, and you can get more than one in a cone! Great prices, generous sizes.

Due to the time of our visit we had no line and at most two or three other parties enjoying some ice cream. They have plenty of parking available and also lots of outdoor tables to enjoy your ice cream at. Also besides the business itself I have to mention in the morning they have a coffee trailer named Lark Coffee and also a little library on property too. The ice cream shop itself has rustic barn vibes. We were drawn to visiting because we saw them posting about some of their fall flavors and because of that we knew we needed to visit. Which when you get here the first thing you will likely notice is the huge flavor board! If you have difficulty with choices you may want to check their website first to at least narrow it down. Thankfully if you do narrow it down to about 6 flavors, you are in luck and do what we did is grab their sampler/ice cream flight. It comes with six baby scoops that will arrive in a pink little carton. My wife and I did just that. We ended up picking the following flavors; Blueberry Crumble, Pumpkin Oreo, Seriously S'mores, Strawberry Cheesecake, Peach, and Cannoli. We enjoyed every single flavor and thought they knocked them all out of the park, very impressive doing so many flavors well! Despite this we did have a few favorites, those being the Blueberry Crumble and Pumpkin Oreo. Wish both those flavors were available anytime I was craving ice cream! One of the best ice cream shops I have visited. Huge variety of flavors and the six we tried were all so delicious! A must visit and I can't wait to visit possibly one more time this year and if not next season when they reopen. I understand why it is such a popular spot.

The lines barely moved and there were longgggg lines and such confusion :( FYI- *cash only ** The flavors we all picked didn't seem as special and enjoyable. I don't think we would wait again those extremely disorganized lines that were all over in zig zags with no structure. While I/ we enjoyed talking to others in line- everyone was constantly making jokes about what was going on and where the lines formed and all. Way too much confusion for us and we all agreed on plenty of other places to go next time. Also, a bunch of flavors were not available and the signs did not reflect that so some of us couldn't get what flavors we wanted. After waiting 30 + minutes we all left frustrated, unhappy, and dissatisfied with our ice cream. :(

Dunne's Ice Cream is a popular seasonal ice cream parlor that opened in York, Maine in 2015. It was…read morefounded by Stephen Dunne. The roots of the ice cream parlor, however, go all the way back to 1967. At that time, husband and wife Byron & Betty Brown, along with their two children, turned one of their cottages on the York Nubble into an ice cream parlor that they dubbed "Brown's Old Fashioned Ice Cream". The Browns made their own ice cream on the premises. The business was very successful for multiple decades, but by 1990 they had closed down. Dunne, a civil engineer by trade, was originally from New Jersey (and then Connecticut) but had purchase some property in York. In 1991, Dunne entered into an agreement with the Browns. He would purchase and reopen Brown's but leased the building and the land from the Browns. Dunne also chose Shain's of Maine Ice Cream to be the ice cream supplier. The following year, Dunne married Phyllis Fox: owner of Fox's Lobster House which is also located on the York Nubble. In 2014, the property owner decided to sell the land that Brown's was located on, so it closed down. The Dunnes decided to build a brand new ice cream parlor 300 feet down the street which they dubbed "Dunne's Ice Cream". Today Dunne's carries more than 50 flavors of ice cream, as well as frozen yogurt, soft serve, no sugar added ice cream, sherbet, sorbet, smoothies, frappes, ice cream specialties, and even Dole Whip! My extended family and I visited Dunne's this past summer while we were on a week-long vacation in York. York has several great seasonal ice cream spots in town, but several locals told us to check out Dunne's. There was quite a crowd congregating there when we arrived one evening. We were able to grab a table outside to sit at. After looking over the extensive menu, I had a cup of "Shark Attack" (vanilla ice cream base with a raspberry swirl and raspberry chocolate truffles), my wife had a cup of "Maine Sea Salt Caramel Truffle", our older son had a cup of "Mint Oreo", and our younger son had a cup of "Cookies & Cream". The ice cream was out-of-this-world! We can see why Dunne's has quite a good reputation in a town that's full of great ice cream options. If you're planning on visiting York, we highly recommend a visit to Dunne's!

After lunch we always look for something to cool down with, so we decided to make a stop in here after taking a short walk in the shopping area. "What's your popular flavor?" Which were Maine blueberry and a whoopie pie flavor (vanilla base with whoopie chunk pieces) both were good but the whoopie pie was a bit sweet for me. Those were the only two flavors that I tried since I didn't want to hold up a line and be indecisive, per usual lol, so I went with the strawberry cheesecake and the Maine blueberry. Both ice creams were really good and I'm glad the Employee put the blueberry on the bottom as "save the best for last" Both ice creams weren't overly sweet. The Blueberry had a balance natural blueberry taste without tasting too tarty. The strawberry Cheesecake had strawberry swirls AND also HUGE chunks of cheesecake pieces with the graham cracker crust which elevated the flavor! I wonder if they make their own cheesecake or use a cheesecake from a local bakery. you could get milkshakes, sundaes and add toppings to your ice cream. You can even buy coffee along with making a coffee milkshakes. Paid parking if you're visiting the area to walk the trail or shop. This place is a good addition for this area. I'm not familiar with the area but seems like this ice cream parlor is the only one in this neighborhood besides the one we saw near the light house. Definitely check them out! Support small business!
