Not only does Golick's offer a very latte number of ice creams, frozen yogurt, Only 6(dairy free), slushies and Italian ices. They offer steamed hot dogs with a wide variety of toppings. I almost always get great service as they have normally a good sized crew working. I appreciate that their tables seem to be cleaned often as well as the outdoor seating. read more

Technically I drove over 9 hours to get to this place and let's just say it was worth it! An epically large and diverse menu was met with equally amazing ingredients. I love an ice cream that is packed with flavor and fixings and this did not disappoint. The servings are generous so by ordering a small chocolate Cookie Monster I was overloaded with rich chocolate in all shapes - decadent chocolate base, thick (Oreo style) cookie crumble ribbons, rich fudge, and chocolate chip cookie dough bites. If you're slow to enjoy pounds of ice cream be sure to get yours in a dish. On top of the amazing flavor line ups there was a nice assortment of healthy frozen yogurt that truly was temping. There are pup cups available for the furry friends and the shop seems to accept both card and cash so there's no reason not to stop by! Tasty ice cream with many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many flavors. Skip the plain jane vanilla and chocolate flavors, and venture out of your comfort zone. I find the fruity flavors (black raspberry or Maine blueberry) absolutely delectable. HOWEVER if I'm paying $4-5 for couple of scoops in a sugar cone, you can bet my wallet I won't be here often. Worst ice cream experience ever, which is to say the cashier/server was pleasant and offered to replace my dish of ice cream twice; the only reason he didn't was because I didn't complain, since I was already on 125 going north, and it wasn't worth turning around to ask again. It was the ice cream itself that was a huge disappointment: I mean, how can you screw up butter crunch ice cream? (Answer. as spelled out in a previous post: put really really tiny bits of butter crunch candy, so few that they are hardly visible to the human eye, and just about as flavorful.) My first attempt to recreate an earlier and very positive experience at Golick's was lot order a dish of "Fudge brownie cookie dough ice cream." By the time I reached my car, I had determined there was not only was there no chocolate chip cookie dough in my styrofoam ice-cream, there was also and no sign of the the ice cream full of chocolate ice cream and chocolate brownie bits. So I went back, and the same person who took my order offered to bring me another variety of ice cream. Only one non-ice cream ingredient, I though, not too much to screw up there. Oh yes there was: There were cookies, or rather there were hard pieces of cookies, and they looked and tasted like overcooked sugar cookies, and they were nestled in what looked and tasted like plain ole vanilla ice cream. So back I went. I hadn't gone that far this time, but I was in my car when I turned around, which is something. I really like my ice cream to have a bit of texture, and so I went with the very non-intrusive butter-crunch candy alternative. Very good ice cream. Large portions for very moderate prices. It seemed a little old but that was ok with me. They only accepted cash so that was one of my downsides. My other downside was that there was no tables for adults and the chairs you fell back into and felt like you were tipping over ore breaking the chair. They are mostly college kids working including one going to Yale!!!!! There was a very large menu including homemade brownies and chocolate jimmies on a waffle cone. Very tasty ice cream but was lacking a little flavor from each one that I tried. I had huge hopes of outstanding taste from Black Magic Cheesecake but it was seriously lacking any cheesecake flavor. This place is your average New England Ice Cream stand. They have tons of flavors and we come here frequently because it is close enough for us to ride our bikes. I like the place down the road a bit better because they make there own ice cream... I'm pretty sure that Golicks just buys all of theirs. Golick's is hands down my favorite place to get ice cream on the seacoast. All of the ice cream is homemade. There are over 70 flavors to choose from - I have had many and have never found a flavor that wasn't absolutely delicious. Their chocolate ice cream is the only chocolate ice cream, whether store bought or at a stand, that I have ever enjoyed. It doesn't have the nasty chalky grit to it like most do. They have a variety of ice creams in hard scoop, soft serve and frozen yogurt, and they also do frappes, sundae's and even red bull frozen drinks. Their prices are great and their sizes are definitely oversized - a small vanilla soft serve in a cone towers at about 5 inches over the top of the cone. People behind the counter are extremely friendly at all times, and you get served in a quick and friendly manner. There are picnic tables for seating, and the location is extremely convenient. I would come to Golick's any day over Sugar and Ice, the other ice cream shop down the road. read more
