My wife selected the baked stuffed haddock with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. This was after going through a long list of vegetables that they were out of. The restaurant itself was quiet and comfortable with few people in the area where we were sitting. Which left us puzzled when it took 20 minutes for my soup to arrive and another 15 minutes for our dinner. Every thing was cooked as ordered but my steak was cool to the touch and the gravy for my potatoes terrible (sent back and stayed with just butter). My soup was only passable; the broth was thin and needed seasoning and the bread used was barely adequate (and certainly not croutons). It had been a long time since we had been to Stratford Farms and while I still like the ice cream I think we'll probably pass on the restaurant.

This review is challenging because I always spend the holiday with my family but I just moved back to the area and was graciously invited to lunch with my dear friends. Again, these were to die for! So creamy and delicious! Their milkshakes are super thick, so it does take some effort to drink it up, but that's half the fun! I knocked down the rating to a 4 because it is pricey. Actually all of the items on their menu seemed on the expensive side. The total for 2 milkshakes came to $10 and change. It's not something I will buy often, however on a hot summer evening when I want a cold treat, this would be something I would splurge on. Let's talk about the business. First the parking situation, well, it stunk. It was so hard to find a parking space. Not the best set up. The building itself is decent. Walk up, order your food, that kind of style. They did have a few tables to sit at, but again, not much space. The staff was nice and was quick to have my order served up. Overall not bad. However when we asked if their chocolate sprinkles were the candy version or real shaved chocolate, she looked at us like we were crazy and said with an attitude, "I have no idea what you're talking about". Already not a fan after that. And also she barely put any sprinkles on it. My mom got a small blackberry and coffee twist which was superrr yummy, especially the coffee flavor. My dad got 3 scoops of the Maine black bear, that was also very good. We also got 3 pup cups which was $9- WAYYY too much in my opinion. You have to specify what you want too- she was going to give us frozen ones that they make but we just wanted the regular vanilla soft serve. They had good ice cream and it satisfied the craving, but I wouldn't necessarily come back, especially with the attitude.
