I finally stopped by Sundaes By The River recently. They were closed over through the 4th holiday, so I came back over the past weekend. There was a steady stream of customers here. I took my time to choose the ice cream flavors (writing it down) for an ice cream flight before walking up and placing my order. I ordered the 5 flavor Ice Cream Flight ($10) with Waffle Chips ($1), including Peanut Butter Caramel Cookie Dough, Coffee Oreo, Key Lime Pie, Kahlua Brownie Crunch, and Playdough. My treat was scooped to order and presented nicely with the abundant waffle chips layed out around the ice cream flight. I enjoyed my ice cream flight and waffle chips out in the back with my black iced coffee I picked up nearby. Other than a few mosquitoes flying around, I was able to enjoy and finish off the entire ice cream flight on a warm, but not too muggy evening.

Large selection. Good prices. This place is always busy. Nice walk down by the river behind the building (along with plenty of parking behind as well). They include tax which is nice because the price you see it what you pay. Staff and Owners are always working hard in shop. Don't see that too often these days. I always have a good experience with both. I agree with the masses here when I say great addition to down town. read more

Great little shop with an outstanding selection of ice creams. They have a revolving selection of special flavors depending on what's seasonal, and make the best frappes around. They also have the most outrageously good soft serve ice cream. I don't know what they do to it to, but it's incredibly rich and creamy, almost like frozen custard. read more

Despite geographically being further from my house, I think I like this Moo's location more than…read morethe one in my hometown of Derry. And I'll tell you why: the parking. See, if you're familiar with their Derry location, then you'll understand how annoying their parking situation is. I mean, it's practically non-existent, par from the 5 or 6 tiny little spots inconveniently situated a mere two feet from an otherwise busy street with active traffic. So basically if you park nose-in, have fun trying to back out safely without inexorably causing an unprecedented collision. Suffice to say...that isn't the case here in Salem. I may start coming here from now on if I'm driving from home. Because the ice cream quality is basically the same, 'cept I don't have to dodge cars whilst parking just to acquire the tastiest of ice creams. Oh, and I thought I should mention they DO accept Apple/Google Pay and credit cards now. Or rather....they probably have for some time now. I read an earlier review that mentioned them only accepting cash and that they had an interior ATM on the premises. Never found that ATM though. But it didn't matter. That earlier review was over 7 years old. Yelp really oughta update the amenities section on this place. Anyways, the parking lot is big enough to fit a G6. So, if you want to go to a Moo's that's more accessible via car, come here. At least you won't have to stand in a line of people that damn near trails out into the middle of a busy street.
