I would take extreme caution if you have any allergies when going to this locations. I watched the staff use the same scoop for multiple ice cream flavors and multiple orders never rinsing the scoops in between. even if they offer a "clean" scoop when asked the ice cream is already contaminated. my family loves this ice cream and comes often but I was very dishearten to watch this happen tonight. hopefully this is something that the management will take into consideration and talk with their staff so a larger population can enjoy the ice cream safely without worry of an allergic reaction. read more

I went here twice while on vacation with my family. The first time, we each ordered multiple sizes of cones or cups, each according to what they normally get at other ice cream shops. When we each got our orders, we were all surprised at how much they gave us! We thought they made a mistake! The portions were close to 50% more than what other places give you, at least in NYC. And they were delish! At least 20 flavors were available. I had to eat what my family members couldn't finish. So of course I went back again the next day! Ordered smaller sizes of course. This place is terrific! Inexpensive and easy to get to. Right off of Route 1 southbound side, or Lafayette Road set off the street in the Rite Aid shopping area. Ice cream is Richardson's and delicious. They have tons of flavors to pick. Very affordable and open year-round. Employees were very rude. If you want a sundae don't waste your money or time. Go to Beach plum. Been to both stillwells both Hampton and Exeter and they both don't know how to make a sundae. They gip you with toppings and also their display with sizing doesn't compare to what you get. The only good part with the ice cream is it's richardsons but you can get that at beach plum and get your moneys worth. read more

Staff at this location is minimal, unfriendly (even rude) fixated on their phone, and getting out on time more than customer service. Both locations have an issue with hair in the ice cream. Long hair should be up and under a hat. Really gross eating half way through your cone to find a huge hair through it. Just gross. read more

I love all the Stillwells locations! I love the colors and the atmosphere in this shop. I love the variety of flavors, and Richardson's ice cream is the best! The option to order Gelato is an added bonus. The portions are huge & the owner and workers are always pleasant with smiles on their face. Anytime I am in the area, I make an effort to stop in. Last time I was in, we were finishing up our ice cream, when a customer came in to order ice cream, after they closed. They took his order, were friendly to him and he mentioned a fund raiser and raffle they were doing for a youth sports team. The manager/owner gave a gift certificate for the raffle, without skipping a beat. He was surprised, because the donation was larger than he expected and he didn't have to ask. I read the other reviews here, and it seems people have an issue with a store having "open hours". I have personally seen them take people a few minutes after closing (after the posted hours). Most locations lock the door after closing hours. If you miss the cutoff of 'open hours' for a bank, grocery store, restaurant or any business, you can expect to have doors locked. You can't please everyone and some people need a reason to complain. If you are in the area, stop by and check it out. It offers a nice alternative to the busy chaos of the Hampton strip. I hope this location stays! It's so nice after a long day at the beach, or when we take our beach rides in the Jeep. read more

It's a great shop with a good amount of seating, they sell Richardson's ice cream (in my opinion the best ice cream on planet Earth), I really enjoy all of the staff that I have met (not sure why people aren't pleased with them. Maybe it's their own fault, I've personally seen people SCREAM at these workers for accidentally giving them the wrong flavor... Love this stillwells location! I'm from Exeter and have always loved the Stillwells right in downtown and have just recently visited the Hampton location and was just as impressed as I have always been with their customer service and ice cream. The employees are always cheery with smiles on their faces and greet each customer that walks in, and are also extremely fast at scooping and getting the ice cream to the customers. I have been going to Stillwells, both the Exeter and Hampton locations and have never had any issue. The staff is kind and very fast. The lines may seem long, but these girls know how to scoop! The atmostphere is busy and fun. The ice cream is both delicious and deliciously CHEAP! A 'mini' scoop ($2.00) is the perfect amount! Both locations are very family oriented and appropriate. Contrary to the other post on here, on more than one occasion someone unlocked the doors to serve me even if it was way after closing (totally on me, I can't get anywhere on time). They have a ridiculous amount of Richardson's ice cream there and basically cater to any sort of sweet craving needs. It's my favorite place to get a scoop in the area (this and the Exeter one). This is one of the best arcades I've been to. The games are fantastic, and the strippers here are incredible! I've never been to a place where I can put cash in a cooch and gamble my depression away! But sometimes the clothes the dancers wear are dirty. While getting a dance my private dancer turned around and I noticed a big brown skid mark! It's great around here and the atmosphere is wonderful! It's just that sometimes it gets dirty in places where the sun don't shine! read more
