How does this place not have 5 stars? It's ice cream ... and delicious ice cream at that. Competing against Ben and Jerry's across the street is no easy task but I'd hit aunt Marie's over B&J every time, it was that good. read more

8-6-25. Located in a small tucked away spot within a nook just off a very pedestrian busy Kennebunk downtown street. Their offerings aren't as big as other ice cream shops in the area, but they are of decent quality. I came here primarily because a short time earlier, I ate at "The Crab Shack" around the block and over a small bridge in Kennebunk. They provided me with a "buy one single scoop cone, get one free". So being the frugal foodie I am, decided to capitalize on the 2 for 1 deal. Not sure if it's worth paying full price for.....but the "deal" certainly made it palatable. Everything in the area is overpriced because it's an extremely touristy area that relies heavily on summer business. But the young gentleman behind the counter was very pleasant and a hard worker, so I recommend giving this place a try if you're in the area and in mood for some ice cream. read more

S'mores Ice Cream was delicious!! Graham Cracker ice cream, chocolate wafer pieces, and a light and creamy marshmallow swirl inside !!! I want more read more

The blueberry ice cream is excellent. Aunt Marie's ice cream is made by Gifford's in Skowhegan, Maine. I subtracted one star because the selection of flavors is very limited, 8-10 flavors. And the cones they use are pitifully tiny. The small cone ($6) is a baby-sized sugar cone, and the "large" ($8) is a slightly larger but stubby cake cone. Fortunately, there are better ice cream places in Kennebunkport. read more

I got a SMALL Maine Wild Blueberry, but they gave me SO MUCH!!! It was $5.25, so it was a bit pricy, but for the amount they gave, I was able to sleep at night with the cost. The Maine Brown Bear flavor was also amazing, and they have fresh squeezed lemonade that also looked tasty. read more

Way overpriced freezer burned ice cream. Way better places to go. Horribly rude ownership.

Great ice cream flavors. I really like the pumpkin and praline. My new favorite. You get 2 scoops on a small cone. They will give you samples. Mmmmmmm. Ice cream read more

Portions here are huge! You don't need more than a small. The ice cream was delicious. I had the blueberry pie (like actual pie) for a change and it was awesome. Not as many flavors as some places but good options. read more

Fabulous ice cream ! This is hands down the best in Kennebunkport! It's locally made and uniquely gourmet !!! Don't waste your time up the street ! This is a must have experience!! Don't be fooled by a souped up storefront. Go for quality and taste. My 5 star recommendation! read more

Probably the best ice cream in KPT. No lines and probably best kept secret. They make lemonade too!

Saw that they had blueberry ice cream and since I am in Maine... how could I order anything different? Got a small which was two big scoops. Opted for the sugar cone. It was DELICIOUS. Totally exceeded my expectations given that I'm usually a chocolate/peanut butter kinda gal. read more

Aunt Marie's - a hand holding an ice cream cone - American Near Me - Kennebunkport, Maine

Best whoopie pies in Southern Maine. They are the size of a big hamburger and absolutely to die for. They aren't dry like many others you buy around but moist and scrumptious. The whoopie balls are really a unique twist on the whole whoopie pie world. So much to love at Auntie's House. Our family is totally addicted! read more

Black rasberry regular cone and the campfire s'mores regular cone. In the heat of summer I should have gotten the black raspberry cone instead because that was so much more refreshing than my super heavy campfire smores cone...both delicious but would definitely go for the fruity ice cream next time around! This place is tucked between a few stores so it's easy to miss but honestly it was so hot we just followed the crowd of people that were walking around with cones and found it! Hehehehe read more

Aunt Marie's - Smores regular cone - pretty yummy and perfect on a hot hot day. - American Near Me - Kennebunkport, Maine

First off, the ice cream was delicious. The person waiting on us was very nice and helpful. I loved the location, near all the shops. There was plenty of great flavors to choose from. The small (regular) was a very good size and the price was reasonable. We will absolutely come here again. One thing to note, before you go, is that they only take cash. read more

Loved the lobster roll, ice cream and lemonade! Their lobster roll was the best one I had during my recent family trip to the east coast. Not too much mayo, light and tasty! I'm just sad I decided to split it with my mom. Other rolls in New England do not compare. I tried rolls in Boston and Portland, Maine but was sadly disappointed. I read reviews about the service but the two young guys were totally nice and helpful. I would definitely come here again. read more

Aunt Marie's - The best lobster roll ever!!! I think it was only $12 or $14. - American Near Me - Kennebunkport, Maine

Cute little window serving a variety of foods typical to Kennebunkport. Seemed like everyone we saw there when we were there was coming over from the Clam Shack where they (and we) received a 2 for 1 coupon for ice cream (which is $4 and change). So... if you find yourself at Clam Shack, you very well may find yourself here for some 2 for 1 ice cream. read more

We weren't particularly seeking out ice cream when we first went to Kennebunkport, but The Clam Shack gave a buy one get one free coupon to Aunt Marie's for ice cream so we figured we would stop by. This made the prices very favorable (under $5 for 2 cups of ice cream). There were probably about 10 different flavors offered here, but we had the Moose Tracks and Summer Berry Crunch - both great flavors. Only downside is the limited seating here. read more

Save room after hitting up the clam shack. You get a discount here for ice cream! They only offer a few flavors, but it is solid, and they give you a good size amount for the price. I had some raspberry/vanilla/chocolate ice cream. I forget the name of it, but it was solid. FYI - this place is a hole in the wall, so there is no indoor seating. Luckily the weather is nice enough that you can walk around the quaint little town while licking up some delicious yummy ice cream. They also serve lobster rolls (my guess it is the same exact ones as the clam shack). read more

This is a window in town that serves food. Ice cream mostly but they advertise the best lobster roll in town so I had to try. It is a hot dog bun full of lobster. The unique thing is it also had lettuce on it. The roll was warm and the lobster cold. It was really good and a nice price. There is only one guy working the window and doing everything. The line can be a bit long. It was a great lobster roll and a great stop for a quick bite. read more

Every year when we come to Maine, we always manage to stop here! I went twice during my trip. I tried the Muddy beans and Peanut Butter Pie. We were able to get buy one get one free coupons at The Clam Shack. Can't wait to head back there next summer! read more

So we went here for the first time to have ice cream. We both got the peanut butter pie, which was very good. The regular size was 2 decent size scoops of ice cream. The next time we went my boyfriend had the lobster roll and I had the hot dog. The lobster roll tasted really good, the lobster meat is from the clam shack. It's a decent price and if you are looking just for a small roll to hold you over, this is the place to go. I had the cheese hot dog with ketchup and onions. Not the best hot dog I've ever had, but still tasted good. Cute little place, you might miss it if you aren't playing attention. read more

There was a flavor on the menu I had never heard of before and I asked what was in it (mind you there was not single soul behind me, probably because of the shitty ice cream and piss poor service) and was met with a scoff and a "look it up." Extremely taken aback. If you want ice cream in Kennebunkport go to rococo or ben & jerry's. read more

After eating at the clam shack we received a coupon for this place for buy one ice cream get a second one free. Located in the heart of the shopping district in Kennebunkport, we ordered one peanut butter cup and one blueberry ice cream. Service was quick and pleasant, and we enjoyed both scoops of ice cream. read more

Absolutely not impressed! The ice cream is just Giffords so no reason to be so snobby. The girl behind the counter I could tell was tired I work retail I get it but the rude attitude was unneeded. No size options and far to pushy when there was no line and we tried to be friendly and make conversation. It felt like we interrupted their day. read more

Like most others, we stopped at aunt Marie's for ice cream after receiving a coupon from the clam shack. I ordered the moose tracks which were not peanut-buttery enough for my taste, but ok overall. My fiancé got the blueberry and was very happy with it. I tried a bite but wasn't impressed. It was ok but I can't agree with the other reviewers that this is a must stop. read more

As I was about to write this review, I decided to see what other people had to say about Aunt Marie's. And funny enough, the review I was thinking about writing for this place is almost exactly what Mike E. had said. You should definitely go to Clam Shack first and eat and then follow up with a 2 for 1 ice cream at Aunt Marie's for dessert. I ordered the Wild Berry... which has to be the creamiest berry ice cream ever. I loved it!!!!! It was also a VERY GENEROUS scoop too, which is surprising because usually when you get a coupon to a place they're a little more conservative with the free stuff they give. read more

If you haven't stopped at Aunt Marie's for an ice cream in KB, you're missing out. Get the Muddy Boot ice cream, regular size cone comes with two flavors and is pretty darn good size. Lobster roll is good but my wife and I are starting to think that most of these places figured out it is not that hard to pick up a bunch of hot dog rolls and fresh lobster meat since we're in Maine after all, making it a fairly overpriced commodity. May as well hold out for the lobster club at arundel wharf. read more

Had the peanut butter pie. Best tasting ice cream I've had in a while. If you're a peanut butter person this is for you!!!!

5/5 only with the Clam Shack coupon (with any purchase) for buy 1 get 1 free! I wouldn't pay $4 for a single scoop here but $2 is fair for delicious, unique artisan ice cream! I got the Black Bear I think which had raspberry with a chocolate swirl and was super yummy. My brother got the blackberry which was delicious as well! Aunt Marie's is a great stop after lunch in the cute little town of Kennebunkport! read more

Maine wildberry is delicious! If you shop and some of the local shops you will be lucky to recieve a coupon for Aunt Marie's. If I did not get that coupon I would have never had the opportunity to try its delectable Main wildberry icecream. I am so sad I ate it so fast. So creamy! read more

Before you go to Aunt Marie's drop by the Clam Shack around the corner. Each time Sarah and I ordered from there, we received a coupon for a 2-for-1 ice cream at Aunt Marie's. I'm not sure if it was just a promotion that we caught, or a long-term thing. Aunt Marie's is a tiny ice cream shop with just a window facing Ocean Avenue. I would say you'll need to look closely to find it, except there is usually a small crowd milling around it, so look for the crowd. They serve very good ice cream. I'm not sure who makes the ice cream, but it is very rich. Among them was a mint ice cream that was the mintiest we've ever had. No flavors disappointed, and you won't be, either. We went back there a couple times in our short trip. Suggestion to Marie's: put example cones out front with labels below them to try to curtail the repeated confusion about what's a regular cone vs a sugar cone vs a waffle cone. read more

Amazing ice cream flavors. We had peanut butter pie & muddy bean boots. The clerk will explain the flavors. Both were delicious. We're coming back before we leave. read more

Flavorful, creamy, local-made ice cream--just marvelous. Portions are generous, especially if you go to the Clam Shack for your previous meal and a free coupon. My personal favorite is the Maine wildberry flavor, which featured delectable chunks of local berries, but the more conventional flavors tasted excellent as well. There's not a lot of space to sit nearby, but it's lovely to walk around Kennebunkport licking a cone of this deliciousness. read more

5 stars for its supply of friendly staff as well as its supply of Giffords ice cream (muddy bean boots = PHENOMENAL).

We came here after the Clam Shack because they gave us a buy one get one free coupon! I got the blueberry flavor and my girlfriend got the moose tracks flavor on regular waffle cones. It was Gifford's Ice Cream, so I guess that is a popular brand in the area as I saw signs in other ice cream spots with the same brand. The serving was a nice sized portion, so it was a great way to finish our meal. read more

Rich, creamy, utterly delectable local-made ice cream. I got the chocolate every time I went here - and it seems to be even more delicious after going to the Clam Shack and getting a free coupon for this ice cream. As it's just a corner shop, there's no place to sit down and eat, but it's even lovelier to walk around Kennebunkport and lap up this delightful dessert. read more

I had a great experience at the Clam Shack and was given a coupon to check Aunt Marie's out. I ordered the lobster roll, 2 smoothies, the lemonade, ice creams and some other food for the kids. We paid over 50 bucks and when I mentioned I had the coupon, the guy said it was too late. I asked for a free ice cream if it was too difficult to get a refund for the difference as that made sense. The guy was a jerk and wouldn't provide it. My neice was looking forward to trying another flavor as well... well suffice to say, this is a shop I will never come back to. Also, the guy wasn't using gloves either... it was a little disgusting in his food handling... especially making the lemonades. What you get hiring a college kid who doesn't know better. Go to Ben and Jerrys across the street. They'll treat you better. The lunch was not cheap either for a hole in the wall. read more

It's a tiny window around the corner from the dock. We tried chocolate and the caramel caribou (sp?) flavors. Both are delicious. The caramel one is vanilla ice cream with caramel swirl and chocolate chucks in it. I loved it even though I normally don't like things in my ice cream. The guys working there were very polite and helpful. Great experience. read more

Definitely don't miss here after your meal at the clam shack and use your 2-for-1 coupon here. They are so generous with their portion that one scoop really is more than 3 scoops. We got two cones for 3.75 and both tasted delicious! We tried the wildberry flavor that yelpers recommended and it is very good! I also tried the crunchy chocolate and it's very rich with a nice crunchy texture of chocolate. It's really better than Ben and Jerry. read more
