Shaw's Ridge Farm is located inland off the beaten path on Route 224, just north of the Route 202 intersection in Sanford and not to be confused with Shaw Farm in Dracut, MA. Shaw's Ridge Farm, a family business, has been around for over 70 years and offers an ice cream shop and BBQ Barn (separate buildings with seating inside both), mini golf, and Springvale Nurseries all on the same premises. Shaw's Ridge Farm offers up to over 50 flavors of hard ice cream including such as moose tracks, ginger, and native blueberry. A few of the flavors are made sometimes including the Kahlua Brownie, Reese's Pieces, and Coconut Pineapple. They offer regular and large size cones/dishes, as well as sundaes, frappes, and banana splits. At the BBQ Barn (currently open Fri-Sun nights), the menu is simple offering pulled pork, chicken, BB ribs, smoked sausage, smoked chicken salad, Angus burgers, hot dogs, and sides (beans, fries, corn bread, slaw, cheesy potatoes). The BBQ sauce cups are from Ken's. I stopped here twice in the same day over the weekend, during the day for ice cream and in the evening for BBQ takeout. For ice cream, I had a regular size cup (2 scoops, the smallest size posted on the board) of Granny Shaw's Original Coffee ice cream ($2.95 plus tax), since I consider myself a major coffee-holic, hehe. The ice cream was on the very cold/frozen side when first scooped, so I decided to take it to go and let it soften up for a good 20 minutes in the sunlight. The ice cream had a sweet and good strong coffee flavor with a very creamy texture. Overall, the ice cream was very good (4 stars). Later on in the evening, I stopped by the BBQ Barn for takeout. I ordered a Pulled Pork Sandwich ($6.95) served with cole slaw & dill pickle spear and a side of Cheesy Potatoes ($1.95). The BBQ Barn dining area (self serve) has a long row of tables with a big John Deere sign and a gallery of framed pig art pictures hanging on the wooden walls. The food was good. The pulled pork (no BBQ sauce on it) sandwich on a artisan roll was tender and lean, slightly dry. The shredded cole slaw was refreshing, made with vinegar. The cheesy potatoes was very dense and fillling with potato chunks, cheese, and corn flakes. The Ken's Cannonball BBQ sauce was sweet and tangy. Overall, a great place to get homemade ice cream and BBQ. However, I wish that the kiddie size was offered here like other ice cream places for smaller appetites and for those watching calories. This ice cream was nothing special. I felt that they used too much dyes in it as well for some flavors.

AIGHT I'll be there in 10 minutes. I arrived and parked and we started looking at the menu. I ordered the double trouble sandwich....pretzel bun..pulled pork...brisket slices and coleslaw with bbq sauce Tony got the waffle box with brisket (or pulled pork, your choice) Mac n Cheese, corn bread and a water $29 for everything which is cheap for everything we got Tony was extremely pleased with his order, said it was very moist and juicy and he is EXTREMELY PICKY about sauces and he even complemented the bbq sauce. Typically he would ask for no sauce but he liked this which said alot My sandwich was layered. Bun .. bbq sauce.. coleslaw... huge handful of pulled pork and 4 big slices of brisket... more bbq sauce and the top bun While we were waiting for our order a great big rotti came over and let me give him a good rub and proceeded to hang out with us for the rest of our time there. He's very friendly and well trained but very fast to catch a treat... can catch mid air Our food arrived and we jumped in Tony's truck to eat...even though the dog followed us he laid right beside the truck and never once begged.... Definitely better than me because this food smelled unbelievable and I probably would have begged if I was a dog My brisket was REALLY REALLY GOOD and the pulled pork was no joke, the coleslaw was fresh and delicious. If I HAD to make a complaint it would be not enough bbq sauce . They add it in the truck and there's not any outside for customers to use but the sandwich was definitely worth the price (and more) I ate everything except the bun (diabetic so bread jumps my sugar) but I'm not sure if I could have eaten it all if I had. The meats n coleslaw alone filled me up.... I'm talking need a nap kinda full But hey if you're ever driving through Biddeford on rte 1 and you want a quick meal there parked across from the shell station on the right hand side right before the bridge into Arundel. Where the spectrum sign shop is. You'll leave hella full with plenty of money left Happy Eating

We ordered a half Chicken Salad, half MadSicilian, and a whole Pastrami. The chicken salad was ordered plain was overly salty, and the menu mentioned "proprietary spices" and we asked what was generally in it was it or if it was spicy. The server had to look at the board to see what we were talking about. His response was it's not too spicy. With the MadSicilian we asked for hots, oil, and mayonnaise. It didn't have any of the three. The pastrami was bland and seemed to be microwaved. Overall rating out of 10, 4. Cleanliness. The table was dirty with mayonnaise smeared on it from somebody else's meal. Some of the chairs are in disarray ripped seat covers, the counter that you could sit at had a piece of formica torn off, the air conditioning vents were not cleaned at all for some time. Overall look dirty and dingy, rating 4. They have two bathrooms, a men's and women's, both have a sign on it "do not use", and they have two signs as you're entering saying "no public bathrooms". Why? Costumer focused rating, 3. Overall rating 3

My friends pizza was burnt and tasted like cleaning chemicals. On the top of his pizza was a lake of grease. When picking up the food the clerk's hands were pitch back and he was full of filth.
