First time here. Breakfast was excellent. I had traditional eggs Benedict (by far, best Ive ever had). Just the right amount of seasoning for the Hollandaise sauce and creamy, shredded potatoes were lightly seasoned and browned on top (nice and crunchy). My husband had fried eggs, bacon, shredded potatoes and one Maine blueberry pancake. However they make their pancakes they're a winner, we both agreed, best ever. Looooved my breakfast experience here at the Greenery Cafe! When we came there was luckily no wait but Ive read that it can get very busy here so be prepared! I ordered the original benny w/grilled ham and it was one of the best I ever had. I'm picky with my hollandase sauce and the ways the eggs are cooked but this was perfect. With a little hot sauce on top, wow. I wish I lived closer. They also serve it with some hash browns which was nice. They also seem to be well known for their muffins which are homemade and made daily! I got their cinnamon coffee cake muffin to go and it was delicious. Mine was still warm too as the batch had just come out so bonus!! So fresh, so sweet, so good. It was hard to choose as all of the flavors looked great but I was more than pleased with my choice. Hands down some of the best breakfast foods I've eaten. The crab Saratoga was DEVINE. The flavors that danced around in my mouth just made me happy. The last time I came I got the lobster Benedict and would say it is one of the best I've ever had. My friends had the crab cake Benedict and absolutely devoured it. The muffins definitely are also amazing, filled with delicious cream for the Boston cream. The service was fine, our waitress was nice enough. It does feel overall like the speed they are going is a bit rushed. I think we got all our food (table of 4) within 10 minutes of sitting. This place came highly recommended and knew it was a must try! My husband and I were taking a weekend trip and stopped here when we arrived in Ogunquit. Although it was busy for being off season, we sat right away. Our server was great! She was so friendly, and she was also from Massachusetts. We quickly began looking over the menu and I knew it was going to be hard decision. The menu was packed with various options, but I decided on the breakfast burrito and my husband got the tuna sandwich. He absolutely loved the potato salad it came with. Beautiful sandwich! My burrito was fully loaded and came with a side of shredded hashbrowns, sour cream, pico and guacamole. Shredded hashbrowns are hard to come by and I was so happy it came with my meal. Delicious. Such a cute brunch spot in Ogunquit Maine. It's very popular among the locals and tourist like myself who came for the day trip. The had some delicious drinks like the blood orange mimosa that I ordered. It was heavily and my dish which was huevos rancheros was huge. I didn't expect all that food but honestly everything you order can be shared. My dish had a corn tortilla with their homemade cheese sauce that tasted soo good. We normally come to The Greenery every summer while vacationing in Ogunquit. I feel awful saying this is probably our last time coming. A plus: our waitress was incredibly nice and kind. Maybe it was because it was the day after July 4th, but my omelette was served incorrectly to me 3 different times. The first time the waitress came over with an order that wasn't my family's. The second time my omelette had ham throughout (I'm a vegetarian). The third time my omelette was served to me, the vegetables in it were not the vegetables I chose. My husband's eggs Benedict was served to him, and he finished his entire meal--took him 20 mins--yet the rest of us had zero food. Our meals came incredibly late. Our waitress thought we could receive a discount or compensation for the difficulty. The check came--no compensation. Is this a problem with management? When so many errors are made, customers typically expect something to apologize for the terrible experience. We sadly can't imagine returning. read more

There's always a long wait which makes you think it's the best in town but it's average breakfast food. They have good gluten free buns but even just finding a parking spot is so hard. It's so tightly packed inside which I get but they need to bring the gluten free options back to their bakery store. Maybe it'll help their lines. read more

We came to the greenery restaurant to enjoy another wonderful experience. We hadn't been in a few years and our excitement was building as we walked in the door and seen the familiar muffins and home style atmosphere. While I can attest we had that very experience, walking in the door, the server was the one who greeted us and was very cordial. On the other side, we had a very uncomfortable experience from what appeared to be the owner or manager that day. Behind our booth where we sat was an electrical plug and seeing that our phone was on 3%, we plugged in. There was a painting that we carefully shifted a little to get to the plug. No harm, just made the painting a little ajar. After about 20 min the aforementioned individual barges over very abruptly and says "you NEED TO UNPLUG YOUR PHONE, I need to straighten that picture" and was extremely rude about it. Instead of politely asking if I'd mind removing the plug as they would prefer the picture to be straight. I would have never had a problem with asking or a gentle explanation as to the reason why. She was very unprofessional to a paying customer and not appealing to make us want to EVER return AGAIN. I approached her on the way out to let her know she could have handled the situation a little nicer and that I apologized for not understanding the value of her "$2000k" painting. Her nasty bite back was very unprofessional and not what I would consider a business owner who is trying to run a business in a very off season time of year to react in that manner. Unfortunately, she left a taste in our whole party in the way her unwelcoming persona was projected. We also battled many fruit flies while eating and they were out of many items on the menu. read more

I stopped in for some pastries and was delighted by some of the interesting muffin flavors. We got: -whoopie pie muffin: tasted exactly like a whoopie pie, good blend of cream with chocolate. If I didn't see it was a muffin, I would think it was a literal whoopie pie. -boston cream - was more of an interpretation in muffin form which was very unique. Nice pie-ish top and very moist base -cranberry muffin - nice and sweet with the perfect amount of tart They were a little pricey but so good and the flavors were standouts. What can i say, so perfectly crafted with eggs, cheese, chives, crab, onions, everything so melded together so well. Think of salmon and eggs but way better. My toast was marbled rye. Served with a side of toasted bread of your choice* and some stellar coffee from a local roaster.** My son had their standard breakfast that was more like a sampler of all breakfast items, pancakes, eggs, bacon and toast-he chose cinnamon sugar toast. Let me tell you, they served it toasted with a side homemade strawberry jam. It totally blew out minds! The wife had crab cake bennies and i didn't hear her speak while she ate so i yet it they were good? Also, she didn't share. Couldn't leave Maine without a blueberry pancake. Their, blueberry or not, was just stupendous. Fluffy airy and full of blueberries. They served it with Maine maple syrup. I'm telling you, it was our of this world! *We walked in and saw they have all these incredibly looking baked goods, from muffins to loaves of bread. Well, The Greenery is also a bakery. The meal was so impressive that as we closed our check, we also ordered some muffins to go, a half loaf of their ridiculous sourdough and s loaf of their cinnamon bread so e could bring it back to Texas. **Coffee was so good, we asked what coffee they used and it turns out it was from a local roaster. I was from a town over and we ended up paying them a visit (review later). I'd go back to Maine just to eat there. Excellent experience and glorious food. By far our favorite breakfast that we had in Ogunquit! We only had to wait a few minutes and then were seated at the counter. We looked over and saw their muffins and knew we had to try them for ourselves - they were still a little warm, and my double chocolate one might as well have been a chocolate lava cake, which was perfect for a chocoholic like me! My husband enjoyed his blueberry muffin. The wait for the food was actually pretty long (like 45 minutes) and the server apologized and took the muffins off of the bill for us, which we thought was really sweet. Since we had the muffins first, we were pretty full by the time our breakfast arrived, but wow was it delicious. Sitting there we picked up on how the servers worked really well together, and we admired how well they were keeping up with the volume of customers. I'm going to be dreaming of this breakfast for a while and will 100% be back! read more

Update to the Owner: You may have a good following that is all-good with the way you handle things. You also must remember, many are tourists. You cannot tell me people were complaining as you were inside while your staff was doing all they could to handle the demand. My guest saw you at the bar. A business owner supports their staff. I cringe to imagine the way you run a "tight ship". You should be ASHAMED the way you talk to customers. I read a few of your replies. You remember: CUSTOMERS are why you have what you do and the money you have. Without us, you have NOTHING. Your pompous attitude is disgusting and I see exactly why the service is a complaint. I'm sure it's tough finding anyone to tolerate being demeaned and mistreated. The parent whose child you demeaned did have a right to review your spot. They were there TO PATRONIZE your business. You were too pompous and ungrateful. You're a hateful, spiteful business owner and you act like you DESERVE the business and that you can treat folks any way you'd like. They were international visitors and that was more than clear. They weren't smoking on your patio or even in your parking lot. She was on PUBLIC property. You don't own the public street. Your entitlement is mind-blowing. Does your partner run the business this way too? Appalling. Lastly, do the locals know you have 6+ active violations for food safety, which is verified via public record? You could've treated them with respect and handled it like a mature adult. And let me know where all the signage was, I can post up more photos. Best of luck long-term with that attitude. I could tell the staff isn't very thrilled. As a customer, it is pretty obvious. Enjoy your following. I'll happily take my business elsewhere in Ogunquit. And nobody cares you sell 400 muffins a day. You're a hateful business owner who feels entitled to the patronage. Money doesn't change the person you are and how you behave towards other people. It's called human decency. You lack that. The cherry on top: the nasty response to the lady with water. You don't need to respond to a CUSTOMER in such a vile and vicious manner. Why treat a customer that way who likely would've patronized you?
