I recently came here for a private event, not just as a diner. Service wise everyone's attitudes were great, and everyone was very helpful when needed. I can applaud the servers for handling a large, loud group of people with such ease. The food however, was both a hit and miss for me. We had a salad that was honestly delicious, the pita chip appetizer that was equally if not more delicious, and some good drinks (shout out to the passion fruit lemonade with coconut cold foam!!). I did not try the Pizza but I was told it was mediocre, and the entrees.... Were absolutely lacking. I had pasta primavera and my husband had salmon. We both needed salt, pepper, and couldn't eat some of the vegetable pieces due to them being the inedible parts. He also had a few fish bones, so that was a nuisance. the lattes are good, we had many: vanilla and hazelnut iced lattes, pistachio latte (yum!), honey oat milk latte (not bad at all), a Greek style latte (needed milk), and many more. Overall those were good. Another minor issue we had was the tables just weren't being cleared out- it felt like we had tons of glass around all the time. Overall, I think the place just needs to tidy up a little. If they fixed their seasoning for the entrees, this place would've easily been 5 stars. I was really disappointed because I remember ordering a whole Strawberry Shortcake earlier last year, and it tasted amazing; everyone who ate a slice complimented on how good the cake was. Oasis Cafe turns out desserts that are visually appealing and taste great. When we dropped by late yesterday afternoon, they were still bringing out fresh trays of baklava cheesecake, rainbow cookies, Nutella mousse cake, etc. Along with the aforementioned Nutella cake, we brought home an Oreo Caramel mousse and a couple of small pieces of baklava. Each of us thoroughly enjoyed our selections and I can see why this place is a favorite local dessert spot for teens (including my kid). They have a few seats up front, more seating in the back, and a nice sized outdoor dining area (which I look forward to checking out soon). Their dessert selection is solid but without being so large that you [over]think yourself to death. They also serve a variety of food which I would also like to try. Pricing is fair and staff were a little tied up with some indecisive customers, but they acknowledged our presence and was patient with us when answering our questions as to what some of the items were. I'd not hesitate to come back for the desserts alone but definitely want to try out their food menu and updating my review to include that. Oasis Cafe has been at this same location for DECADES!! I can honestly say that I haven't been here in about 30 years! Back then, it was just a regular cafe. Little did I know that it is what it is today: a fabulous oasis in the middle of Northern Blvd in Bayside, Queens! I was delightfully surprised. Forget over-rated Martha's, Oasis Cafe is soooo much better in every way! But Sssshhhh, don't tell everyone...I don't want to have to wait for a table next time!! From the outside, looking in, it really doesn't look THAT special...but when you step into the dining areas (both inside and outside), you realize just how far they've come since back in the day! The inside seating area is so upscale and fancy; the outdoor seating area is beautiful and spacious. Great vibe; great music, great customer service by all. Note that there is a smoking and non-smoking section in their outdoor seating area. When we went, the non-smoking area was full, so we agreed to sit in the smoking section, but at the end, where there weren't too many ppl. Note: the smoke DOES drift! The desserts are AMAZING!! Not only are they visually drool worthy, but they are fresh and delicious! Prices range from about $5-$8, depending on what you're in the mood for. They have a huge selection, and it will be hard to pick just one dessert. My party and I ordered 4 desserts to share for 5 ppl, and only ate 3 of them; taking one home. All 4 desserts were delicious, fresh and really hit the spot. I also had their regular brewed coffee, which was just ok. I would order a different coffee next time. Note that they serve food also. But I haven't tried any of the food, so can't really say much about it. Next time I'm looking for dessert/coffee, I'm heading back to Oasis Cafe! Can't wait! read more

I believe this place is low key racist. I ordered a Bougatsa for my Greek wife. The guy behind the counter asked if I wanted it heated up with cinnamon and sugar. I said yes and he clearly understood me. I waited a minute, got my desert and left. I got home (less than 5 min.) gave the bougatsa to my wife and she's yelling and complaining how it was ice cold with NO cinnamon and sugar AT ALL on the bougatsa. My greek wife and I came to the conclusion . Because I am mávros, the guy botched my order to get me out of the store as quick as possible. Because to heat the bougatsa up it would of took couple minutes. I guess he didn't want me in the store waiting for my order while the Greeks ate and ordered who stayed. read more

My husband threw me a surprise bday party here on 10/21/23 and everything was spectacular!!! The food was so dang good, the service was amazing and the dessert was out of this world. Trust me! Sitting outside.. you really feel like you are in an oasis. We stopped by on a Saturday night 6pm, there was a dj playing already. Love the ambience, banana trees, fire... doesn't seem like you are in queens, New York. Server was very nice. Food came out in a decent time. I've been here a few times & I do admit that things have changed drastically throughout the years. Drinks are always quite sub par here however my friend got a dirty glass which was not very appealing. The charcuterie board could use a bit of help, maybe some crackers instead of four bread sticks.... Despite that minor detail, it was presented beautifully. We also ordered the Greek fries which were drizzled with feta cheese, very tasty. we ordered the banana cream pie for our friend since it was her birthday. However, when I asked the waitress she agreed but when I actually snuck into the bathroom she was telling the other servers. I grew up in the area and this place has been here as long as I remember. It used to be an unassuming spot, but we all knew this place has the best cheesecake around! In the last few years, Oasis went through a slight rebranding with a new look and new items. They also started serving food and doing more with their drinks, becoming more cafe than bakery. And I feel they've done it well! I don't know the story behind it, maybe a new family member entered with a passion for this stuff, but either way the quality of the baked goods and cakes have been consistently good as long as I've known them. I haven't eaten in yet so can't speak for the dining experience (from recent reviews, seems like that's where the growing pains are at), but the staff is consistently friendly (even to my parents who can't speak English well) and before covid, they occasionally had samples to try. They also do custom cakes and such, which is awesome! Like my family wanted blueberry cake and they've had a go at it, which went pretty well! One minor con for me, and this may be a matter of preference so I didn't unfairly deduct a star, is a lot of the desserts are just a bit too sweet for me. I mean I loveee sweets, but I can't eat here every week, much less every other day, because they seem just a bit heavy handed with the sugar. It's a shame imo because their desserts are packed with flavor and has mostly great texture. Their chocolate-based desserts have the same issue for me, where I prefer my chocolate on cakes and cookies to be more chocolaty and less Hershey's syrupy. I wonder if they can experiment with a less sweeter version and see what people think, particularly the younger crowd? Either way, Oasis is worth a try and I definitely recommend going here to pick up cakes for special occasions! Minor edit: Okay, so I bought a variety of treats since this review and mmm, I don't know what happened but the desserts were well-balanced (not as sugary but perfectly sweet), the cakes were super smooth and silky, and also I've never tried their creme brulee and baklava cheesecake (must be a newer item), but I totally recommend a try! Only minor hiccup was the pickup being confusing and took awhile (food was ready but the staff was literally running around), but once I got someone's attention, they were quick and friendly. My hunny surprised me with dessert from here. He ordered three slices of cake: a Dulce De Leche Cheesecake, Nutella Cheesecake, and a Chocolate Fudge Cake. From the packaging I thought that the slices would be on the smaller side but they were huge. I used a regular fork and it was still too much yumminess packed on my utensil. The cake slices weren't overly sweet. When I tell you everything was bomb. It was perfection in a slice. Each bite was more delicious than the last. I couldn't believe how inexpensive the cake slices were. This will be our new go to spot to satisfy our sweet tooth. read more

This place is quite VIBEY! I felt like I was transported to some tropical island. The outside looked amazing with an intricate lighting system. Would definitely recommend to try out if you are looking for a nice late night out, especially after a movie like Barbie. All the drinks were solid. I would personally recommend to get the Green tea drink, it had the perfect amount of sweetness and flavor. Way better than Panera's green tea drink. I ordered an oat milk latte that morning which was great. Later in the day, we had lunch where I ordered the souvlaki platter. I thought this was an amazing lunch and the perfect size! We ordered another round of caffeine and I got the iced caramel cloud macchiato. I usually get the cloud macchiatos at Starbucks and this one is so much better - I highly recommend this drink here. Had a chance to visit this cafe in Queens yesterday. Parking was very easy to find. The cafe appears small when you walk in but head back into the dining area and there's a 2 story dining room and huge outdoor courtyard. There are so many beautiful pastries to choose from - there is something for everyone here. We tried the Black Forest cake, fruity pebbles cheesecake, strawberry shortcake and passion fruit cake. I've been going to Oasis since before I can remember. And when they recently renovated, I was excited to see it reinvented. At first it seemed great and that they have a beautiful outside area, but I just went back last night and you know the luster really didn't hold up. I really I was really rooting for it, but the service was not attentive to say the least. The prices were excessive, really really over the top. I understand that they have to contend with inflation and competition and that everything is expensive these days. But $9.50 for a slice of cake so over 40 dollars for two coffees and two slices of cake with bad service. For dessert and coffee I just don't see how it's practical for anybody's budget anymore. The place isn't really well maintained. The bathrooms were really in a disappointing state is a nice way to put it. One of the cakes that we ordered was clearly not what we ordered, but when we gently suggested that we received the wrong thing, we were told that we got the right thing, even though it was obvious that we didn't. I don't plan on going back unfortunately unless they make some kind of dramatic changes. Save your money and aggravation. read more

The patio is great for a summer night and I love that they separate the smoking and non smoking sections, so there is no worry about the kids being around the smoke. The Greek Frappe and the cloud caramel macchiato are my go to drinks. The napoleon and fruit tarts are always fresh and pair perfectly with the drinks. Service is hit and miss, but we always go as a group of about 4-5 and have gotten used to it. The dessert and drinks make up for sometimes poor service.
