As a party of 6 we dined at The Nook on Mother's Day. We were seated shortly after all arriving. The was a 10/10 experience. As stated in the name it is a small location but the ambience is so cool. So cooly decorated. We ordered brunch and had a variety of things from the menu. I ordered the Bbq Pulled Pork Waffle and home fries. I ordered the green thing pancakes (pancakes with banana and a pistachio sauce which definitely had a white chocolate base) and they were tasty, filling and it too sweet. I want to give The Nook a high rating but I was underwhelmed. If I could give it a 3.5 out of 4 I would. From the time we put our name down to actually getting our food was an hour. I had expected to wait a while to get seated but we only waited about 20 minutes. You give them your name and number and they keep this on a notepad. Someone will call you so be sure to answer a random number. Our server was nice. It did take a while to get our coffee and our water. The drip coffee was awful. I didn't expect it to be on the same level or worse as diner coffee but it was. My partners London fog was tasty thankfully. I ordered the Chick N Waffles and was disappointed. The chicken breast was dry and the breading kept falling off. I expected the chicken to be fried and instead it was lightly breaded and kind of gross. The waffle was the saving grace as it was flavorful and cooked properly. I got French fries with my dish and they were really good. Fried perfectly and salty. The other side options were home fries or salad. My partner got home fries with his meal and they were really good. The music they played was popping! It was most likely a 2009 throwbacks playlist featuring all the pop greats. It was loud, but I enjoyed it. The space is decorated in a really fun fashion and is a cozy spot for sure. I have high expectations for breakfast. When I heard this was owned by the same folks as Gepetto's I got excited as that's one of my favorite spots. This didn't satisfy the same breakfast craving as other places in the neighborhood. The decadent fresh whipped cream was a bit too much for me - but my husband LOVED it. My dish was pretty boring in comparison: the breakfast sandwich. The overall flavor was good - tho the 2 tiny pieces of bacon looked so sad on top of the scrambled egg & havarti! The ciabatta they used for the sandwich was quite fresh - but too much bread for me. I've been here a couple times for takeout on my lunch break. It always feels like a hopping place when I go in - they play decently loud music and there is always a good crowd. The servers are always friendly too, so it would probably be a fun place for dine-in. The food was a bit underwhelming though. We took a walk around Lawrenceville while we waited and our table was ready when we got back! The Nook has the menu of a diner with the interior charm of weekly brunch with friends. The menu is so extensive that the place itself is conducive to photo-taking and the works. My BS (Brunch Struggle) is always deciding whether I want to get something sweet or savory, so I generally always go for something that gives me both my scrambled eggs AND my pancakes or waffles. I ended up getting the Eggsuberant which offered exactly that. The eggs, bacon, and potatoes were great-- I'm an actual hoe for homefries. The star was the pancakes. I'm usually a waffles girl because pancakes are generally a little too filling for me, but these pancakes were super fluffy, airy, and bouncy which made them super easy to finish!
