2 Breakfast Combo Corned Beef Hash
    Tim R.

Food was delicious I got the breakfast combo 2 with corned beef hash, the corned beef hash was amazing! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The establishment is big and the turnover is at a good pace. Walked in with my niece and everyone waived hi back to her as we walked to our table. High chair waiting for us. Very mom and pop place and you can tell they truly care about the restaurant . 10/10

Went for brunch with the family after granddaughters dance recital. Old fashioned luncheonette, BUT service and food was excellent. They made accommodations for the 8 of us with no problem. Started off with a nice hot cup of coffee and brought the kids something to drink as well. I had an egg let with Swiss cheese, mushrooms and Canadian Ham. Sides were toast, and fries. My husband had a salad platter, all homemade: red skin potato salad, Cole slaw, egg salad, tuna salad and macaroni salad. Kids had sliders, pancakes, grilled cheese. Adults had burgers, turkey sandwich and tuna. The waitress catered to the kids and helped calm them down. The food was delivered correctly and everyone ate together.

It's been a while since I've been able to come to my former hangout when I lived here in New Jersey. This place is exactly the same as I remember, which is to say outstanding. The same family runs the operation and while there are many new faces behind the counter, it is exactly the same service and quality of food. Today's lunch was a pork roll with cheese on a hard roll with some fries and brown gravy. Quite simply the best you'll have out here. If you're in the area stop in, but please note they are only open for breakfast and lunch generally. My thanks to the Riccio family for keeping such a great operation running exactly as I remember.

    Breakfast Burrito Wrap

Went here for breakfast the other day, I passed it a bunch of times and finally gave it a try. Got the breakfast burrito with hash browns. It was pretty good, cheap food all around, the service was great too. Great diner spot for breakfast

Located in Jackson this place is a gem. The portions are generous and the breakfast burrito is highly recommended. The ambiance was pleasant from the locals and staff everyone was friendly. Except our waitress it felt like we were bothering her by being there. We notice other staff member being so nice to their patrons we even had another waitress be attentive to us more than our original waitress. Would I still recommend this place? Yes, because I believe in second chances especially since it was one person and we are human. Bad days happen. I would recommend bringing cash if not you will be charge a card fee which is the norm in a lot of places. They have signs posted about this so no surprises here.

Came back to The Mug Rack over the weekend for breakfast w/ the wife & In-Laws. We were seated right away, place was moderately busy for a Sunday morning at 8am. I ordered a sausage, egg & cheese on a hard roll -- a VERY large sandwich, overall though, I thought it tasted just OK. Other breakfasts ordered were average & pretty standard. My wife had the Eggs Benedict -- the eggs were overdone, yolk was not runny. But that does seem to happen a lot when ordering Eggs Benedict, I suspect many places pre-cook the poached eggs then re-heat them when a Benedict is ordered. She also felt the hollandaise sauce was too sweet. It's hard to find an Eggs Benedict done right. Service was good and the prices are reasonable at The Mug Rack.

Omelette with spinach, Swiss cheese, mushrooms, rye, toast, bacon, and home fries. Best !!!

Nice cocktail, wine, and beer selection. Calamari appetizer (sadly forgot to take a photo) was perfect for sharing amongst 2-4 people. Tender bites (rings and tentacles - I prefer) with a perfectly light, crispy coating. Tasty. Both the scallops & risotto were honestly some of the best I've ever had (and I order this often at seafood joints). Sweet meat, large size, crisped atop. The risotto was creamy and very flavorful (subtle white wine) with mushrooms and spinach throughout. The salmon piece that I tasted was very soft and fresh. My party seemed satisfied. Although I've had better crème brûlée, no real complaints. Nice crispy torched top. Texture was a little thicker than I like and the chill needed to come down to room temp more. It was pretty vacant prime time on a Saturday night, so I really hope things turn around. This area of NJ is severely lacking fine dining, so this spot is much needed. There are dining specials and DJs set up on select nights. Place does bring in an older crowd (makes sense for the area). Ample parking available. Come have a time or two!

I ordered the burger, which was pretty big and juicy. The fries were nice and crispy as well. For dessert, we got the banana dulce de leche gelato and ice cream cookie sandwiches. The gelato was so unique and rich. The ice cream cookie sandwiches were perfect for me and I loved the side of Nutella with nuts on top which added a nice crunch. Their commitment to hospitality beats most restaurants I've ever visited. In our reservation, I noted that we were celebrating a birthday. When we were sat at the table, a birthday card was waiting for my mom. Our waitress Bailey was so nice and accommodated my mom's request to not draw too much attention to the celebration. I also adore the atmosphere in 618. The lighting is so elegant with the many chandeliers and the flowers on the walls. 618 has easily become a top restaurant for me.

Very cool that Venue 618 was the only NJ restaurant to make the recent Yelp Top 100 restaurants in the US. Sitting at the bar, we were served by Zoey, Steve, and Mike. They've re-done their cocktail menu to include beautiful color illustrations. I enjoyed "One in a Melon," a well-balanced whiskey cocktail with Frank August small batch bourbon, melon, poblano pepper, Aperol, and lime. This was followed by a tasty whiskey sour. My wife ordered a Lemon Drop martini, followed by a decadent chocolate-pistachio dessert martini. All of the cocktails were well-balanced and delicious. On the food side, I munched on a baked macaroni & cheese with chorizo. It was perfect! The Death of Hospitality brand thrives on personalization and unexpected surprises. Mixologist Steve, realizing that I'm a whiskey afficionado, surprised me with a small pour of Rock Hill Farms Single Barrel bourbon. This is a difficult bottle to find in New Jersey. Rock Hill Farms was incredible, with a super long finish. Thanks for the memories 618!

The location is a little further than we would normally travel, but it was worth it. I loved all the farm to table foods they have. I had the Thai chicken sandwich and it was so flavorful and delicious. I came in to try their new menu items and ended up going all in--and honestly, everything delivered. What stood out right away is how much variety they have. Yes, the burgers are great (I tried the double American smash and the Oklahoma outlaw smash--both were juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly), but the menu goes way beyond that. I was especially impressed with the salads and bowls. I tried a mix including the chicken Caesar, crispy chicken bacon ranch, buffalo chicken, honey mustard, and the southwest avocado chicken, plus the avocado chicken burger bowl. Everything tasted super fresh, generous portions, and actually filling--not your typical boring salad situation. The wraps are also a great option if you want something quick but still satisfying. Now let's talk about the indulgent side--the Nashville hot chicken sandwich had the perfect kick, and pairing it with the Nashville hot chicken fries was a must. The Philly cheesesteak fries were absolutely loaded and easily one of my favorite things I tried. The California chicken BLT is another item I would definitely go back for. Overall, I love that you can go here whether you're in the mood for something lighter like a salad or going full comfort food with burgers and loaded fries. Everything felt fresh, flavorful, and made to order. Definitely worth checking out--and the best part is you can find these items at any of their locations.
