Have dined here a number of times. I would recommend it if you are visiting with a grandparent and would like a bit of nostalgia. Also if budget is a concern their prices are good as well. Atmosphere: As the name suggests, Martucci's Flashback Diner is a blast from the past. You don't expect it from the outside. Martucci's Flashback Diner is located in a shopping center. It blends in with the building. When you enter Martucci's Flashback Diner, you are immediately greeted with a retro diner. There are old school booths and tables, as well as a small bar.  As a military spouse, I appreciate the nod to all of the branches of the military. There are plenty of decorations, posters, and military signs. Coffee: The coffee at Martucci's Flashback Diner was ok. I asked for whipped cream, but it got lost in translation. The coffee itself was ok, but I could have used more refills. Food: Martucci's Flashback Diner has everything a retro diner would have. There aren't fancy options, and you won't find many healthy choices, but if you're looking for a solid diner on your way to the shore, it's a good option.  If you are looking for pancakes, pork roll, omelets, or sandwiches, there are many different options. I decided to order the full stack of blueberry pancakes. Pancakes are one of the riskiest items to order at any diner. Either they are flat and thin, or they are fluffy and delicious. Thankfully, the Martucci's Flashback Diner's pancakes were fluffy and delicious. They were one of the better pancakes I've had. What a cute diner. Came here with my mom who lives in the area. There are not much choices in terms of eateries in this area. This was the first time I've been here. Definitely is a flashback to the '50s. Vibe. Was pretty busy when we came. But was greeted right away. Their menu is typical diner fare. My mom got a grilled cheese with Swiss and tomato and fries. The grilled cheese was very good. The french fries could have been seasoned a little bit more but otherwise good. I'm trying to be healthy so I got the grilled chicken, roasted peppers and mozzarella on a roll. But I asked to hold the roll. Piece of chicken was excellent. The amount of roasted red peppers was very good. Would have liked to have tried some of the desserts in the case. But was full from our lunch. They have a display case of different type of chocolates and pies and cakes. They also have an area with some interesting, different type of candies. They also serve hard ice cream. Not "real" diner food & menu, in our opinion. Hubby ordered pork chop dinner from the menu & nowhere was it noted that they were deep-fried, so when arrived, they were greasy, dry & overfried & not healthy to eat, as we avoid fried foods. He wouldn't mention to the nice server, so he did eat them. I ordered the hot turkey sandwich which arrived as thinly sliced deli turkey cold-cut, not fresh turkey breast as a real diner would serve ~ & the very thick, dark brown gravy all over it was thick & very bitter & tasted & looked like mud). The home-made cranberry sauce was delicious. When the server cleared the table, she asked if it was ok, since she saw that i hardly ate any of it ~ but again, i didn't want to complain & we made a note not to order either of these entrees' again. We did return & I had a cheeseburger which was fresh but i ordered it medium rare & it was well done, with an extra charge added on to the bill for the onions on the berger!! ~~ What is that all about??!! Their brownies are good & they make egg-creams, which are a treat & good.. The booths are tight & uncomfortable to sit & dine at.. Everyone working there are pleasant & efficient.. Flashback has been one of my favorite places for lunch and dinner since moving to Manchester Township in 2017. The staff is always very friendly and attentive. Sandwiches, Salads, Dinner selections all very good. The only change I would suggest is to change the Hoagie rolls to a softer bread. The current Hoagie rolls are too tough and hard to bite and chew. And, yes I have all my own teeth. Thanks to all the servers and cooks for providing a wonderful relaxing atmosphere. Love the 50's music. read more

I "went" here with my husband and my son yesterday, and let me explain what happened. We walked in and waited at the door while there was two dirty tables open while servers passed by us with no hello, no we will be with you in a minute NOTHING for I would say 10-15 min? An older gentleman asked for a spoon with his coffee and the waitress looked at him like he asked her to do a science experiment. One of the tables finally opened up so my husband had to go ask the bus boy if we can sit there. We go over there and wait for another 10 minutes before a server literally throws two menus on the table and didn't even bother to say hello or ANYTHING. I grab my 2 year old son and tell my husband no way am i eating here. How do you not even approach costumers waiting at the door or even bother to greet us once we sit down. Stopped in tonight for valentines' dinner. Food and service were very good. I had the meatloaf special and my wife had boneless pork chops both meals were delicious. The prices are slightly higher than most probably due to the rent overhead of being in the shopping strip mall. Overall, it was worth the half hour trip to Whiting. Good clean place, just which they had more Vegetarian options. Please at least a veggie burger could be on the menu. The milkshakes are good, but the ice cream is 'icey". What a find! One year old today, Martucci's Flashback Diner has bright black and white tiles, red trim, red booths and scattered tables. It's designed like a 50's diner, with decor and soundtrack. Food is good and plentiful, coffee fast and hot. The Martucci's Special is a breakfast sub with egg, bacon, sausage and NJ's finest, pork roll. Definitely coming back! read more

Absolutely Horrible. Husband asked for WELL DONE pork roll on his sandwich. Had to send it back and Then they sent it out after putting it in the Deep Fryer....OMG disgusting Potatoes do not come with Omelets, Omelets were stingy in size. They served us nasty sausage gravy over biscuits....the gravy had Broken so it was watery. taste was awful as well. They had a Deli up in Browns Mills which was always dirty and service was non existent. Walked out of that place too. read more

Well, I had high hopes for this place. Unfortunately..... This place is brand new. Why they chose to locate here, I don't get. Let's start there. The location is bad. Really bad. It's in the same plaza as many successful eateries, as well as the area's closest major supermarket. Parking is a nightmare, especially when all the senior buses are lined up like dominoes, and that's every day. The waitress we had that day was wonderful. Very bubbly and full of helpful (I thought then) suggestions. The menu made me sad, as I know to have a menu as big as theirs was, it couldn't possibly be fresh. And, it wasn't. Frozen is the name of the game here. I asked the waitress for suggestions, she wholeheartedly recommended a burger. My wife had one, and she declared it passable. Mentioned she would have preferred Wendy's (which is right next door). I had a fried chicken salad. It was served on a very small plate, with a total of 3 ingredients. Iceberg lettuce, white onions, and a very few pieces, yes pieces, of tomato. The fried chicken was not overcooked, it was burnt. On the outside. Cold, on the inside, and tasted horrific. It tasted of old oil, and I'm not sure how, as their doors had been open for 2 days. I ate 1 tiny slice of the chicken, and left the entire rest of the "salad" sitting on the plate. The waitress's sole question to my untouched FOURTEEN dollar salad, was did I want that to go. Sadly, try it for yourself, they won't be here long. Bad locale. Bad food. Horrible prices. I love going to Martucci's Flashback Diner, not only because the food is great & the staff is fantastic, but the music going back in time if fabulous. It just brings back so many pleasant memories of when we were teenagers. It's a great experience all around with Sherri and her staff at Martucci's Flashback Diner. I can honestly say, it's my favorite diner. They now have the Ice Cream store right next door, and that is fantastic also.
