It was so depressing in there. I guess it was previously a doctors office or something? It had little to no work to become a diner. I ordered a western omelette with hash brown and rye buttered toast; my boyfriend got a cornbeef hash omelette. His came out and was all cheese, but his potato's looked good. However my potatoes looked completely different. My onions in my omelette were not cooked; practically raw. My toast was practically just butter. Our waitress messed up our drinks after confirming with us. Then didn't check up on us the rest of the time as she was talking to another server in the back. The Silverton Diner is a very straightforward one with basic American food. I have driven by it countless times but never went in. When I first entered, I did not expect much because the atmosphere is very basic and a little dated. However, I soon realized that they have their procedures down. I respect restaurants that provide food in the way they promise with no fluff. I ordered basic chocolate chip pancakes, and that's what I got . . . efficiently. They have basic coffee, but it serves its purpose, and your mug keeps getting refilled. I also found the service to be polite, straightforward, and efficient. The place is a well-oil machine. I didn't go for dinner, just breakfast, but maybe I'll try dinner next time. They could also tidy up the back counter area, too. They could use longer hours, but that's their business decision. If you are looking for a bougie brunch with a hip atmosphere and trendy recipes, maybe this isn't the place for you. But if you just need a quick, efficient meal that hits the spot for relatively low prices, then the Silverton Diner does that very well. read more

I have only had breakfast here once- it's close to my house. It looks very small from the outside but that's deceiving. The eggs, English muffins, pancake and potatoes were very satisfying. The sausage a little dry. I like the big juicy links from other places better. Their English muffins were very good. Not Thomas' which are flimsy. But these were dense and very good and seemed fresh. Servers check in often if you need anything, and take away empty plates often. Nice bright place- needs updating and maintenance of booths and walls, decor, etc. overall it was a nice breakfast that I was happy to eat they also had some nice unique seasonal specials which included soft shell crabs. I actually work at this Diner and have worked here on and off for seven years. The owner al is an amazing boss and owner. He is fair when it comes to prices and the portions are amazing. The food is also fabulous! You wouldn't be able to tell it from the outside however, it is very big on the inside. The whole ambience of the restaurant is just very nice. He's decorated for holidays waitresses are always nice and respectful and after a few cuts in workers, the place has been running very well. I know I am a server here however, I'm all about telling the truth. There is some things that could be better however, all in all, it's a great Diner one of the best I've ever been to, and plenty of people can contest to that, so come on down and get yourself some Silverton Diner food thank you guys. I'm visiting my parents down the shore, and saw the good reviews for here. We love diners so we wanted to try. Our waitress was super nice. She was the only good thing about our visit. The food was terrible. My mom got a burger (tomato on it looked fresh But after she ate , and it my toddler went to taste it and handed it back immediately we realized it must have been sitting in something that had gone sour and had an odor.) My mom was sick from the food all night. My dad had hot pastrami , cheese wasn't melted it was ice cold. My dad ate half. The waitress realized how bad it was and nonchalantly told my dad she took it off the bill (even though we weren't saying anything). She said it didn't look good. I got eggs, potatoes and bacon. Eggs were so over cooked fried they were like thin burnt paper. Potato's were barely fried. My Toddler had spaghetti and meatball. She wasn't feeling good when we got home too. I tasted the meat ball. Idk what meat it tasted weird. Skip this diner for dinner. Feel terrible my parents wasted money eating here and got sick. Today we both had sliced turkey on a chefs salad, and a turkey Dagwood sandwich special for my mom . Within 30 minutes we were both with diarrhea I called them as soon we both were sick to tell the cashier and she took my phone number and said she would get back to . Nothing not a word it's been several hours which no response . 5 hrs ago to be exact . You suck and so does your bad food . The Silverton Diner is your prototypical small town diner. Booth and table seating, local wait staff, and small town regulars. I came in early on a Saturday morning before a small rush. I was greeted and seated quickly. The waitress asked if I'd like coffee. The coffee arrived and my order was taken, the food arrived quickly. I ordered pancakes, eggs and bacon with wheat toast. The eggs and bacon were fine, cooked to order, and not overly greasy like some diner food. The pancakes were underwhelming in both appearance and taste. They looked and tasted overcooked and chewy. The flavor just wasn't there. I'm also not a huge fan of pre-packaged containers of syrup and butter. I like it to be served on the side or in a reusable container. The coffee was below average but I'm a coffee snob so it's unfair judgement. For the service and food quality I was surprised by bill was $13 for what I thought was an $8 breakfast. Coffee: The coffee was brewed hot and fresh with plenty of refills.  It was good coffee. Food: The Silverton Diner has plenty of options. There are several breakfast, lunch, and dinner specials. I wasn't sure what I wanted. I had a migraine, and I wasn't that hungry. I decided to order the pebble peaches salad with chicken. It was a small salad with greens, canned peaches, nuts, and chicken, crunchy noodles. It was topped with balsamic glaze was tasty. It was a good salad for what I wanted for the day, but it wasn't my favorite ever. If I had been more hungry, I know I would have been more disappointed. Service: Even though the diner wasn't that crowded, the waiter took a while to come back. He seemed disconnected from the table and his day. I've lived in town for over 20 years, just never ventured over to eat here. My best friends family is a staple there for 20+ years and I absolutely see why! My fiancé got us sandwiches for dinner and I work late so mine was refrigerated for hours. It was absolutely delicious!!!!!!! I couldn't imagine how great it was fresh and honestly I'm pumped to go back and get it fresh! We had the Reuben and some type of amazing roast beef with caramelized onions that was seasoned with angels prayers and genie wishes. I'm glad she did! I've tried a few things from here and nothing has disappointed! The lobster bisque is always my go to. Recently, I had the Blue Claw salad and that crab cake could stand up against the many I've had (including ones I've had in MD and in many seafood restaurants). Fish and chips are also really great! This diner is a little hidden gem in the area. There are many other large over-the-top standard looking diners in the area, but this little diner, tucked into a small strip mall, is really actually quite good. I haven't tried any of their dinner options -- been burned too many times in the past ordering actual dinner/meals at diners. But we've had plenty of breakfast and plenty of burgers and they are all consistently delicious. It's just basic diner food, but that's what you order at a .. DINER. And even though it is basic diner food, I've been in way to many in the area that can't get even that right. The burgers at the Silverton diner are really fresh, and they use an awesome kaiser bun. When he arrived to pick up his food, other customers came into the diner behind him, she shoved menus at them and told them "go sit down over there". Items on the menu they said they don't make and never heard of. Sides for the takeout were packed into the same container. Items for the order were missing, and when called to ask about it, we were told, "you have to ask for them" even though they were on the menu. Silverton Diner is my all time favorite diner. I've been coming here since I was a kid. The food is much more than typical diner fare. The lobster bisque is better than ones I've gotten at seafood restaurants. The blue claw salad has a crab cake on it that could be served in Baltimore! A diner in a strip mall shouldn't have such good food! The servers have always treated myself and family with such kindness! I live in North Carolina now but when I visit, they all still know me. I have been going to this diner for quite some time. Tonight my sister and I took the kids there for dinner. Towards the end of our meal the black hair hostess behind the counter began giving us dirty looks because my 20-month-old niece was being loud, she did this a few times and when we finally spoke up about it she gave another dirty look and said "can't you keep her quiet?" we are trying but she's a little kid, to which the woman replied "well people are complaining" The proper thing to do would have been for her to come over to us and say something, not stand behind the counter and give dirty looks.
