    Porkroll and cheese with fries
    Sean B.

It's been a while since I've been able to come to my former hangout when I lived here in New Jersey. This place is exactly the same as I remember, which is to say outstanding. The same family runs the operation and while there are many new faces behind the counter, it is exactly the same service and quality of food. Today's lunch was a pork roll with cheese on a hard roll with some fries and brown gravy. Quite simply the best you'll have out here. If you're in the area stop in, but please note they are only open for breakfast and lunch generally. My thanks to the Riccio family for keeping such a great operation running exactly as I remember.

Went here for breakfast the other day, I passed it a bunch of times and finally gave it a try. Got the breakfast burrito with hash browns. It was pretty good, cheap food all around, the service was great too. Great diner spot for breakfast

Located in Jackson this place is a gem. The portions are generous and the breakfast burrito is highly recommended. The ambiance was pleasant from the locals and staff everyone was friendly. Except our waitress it felt like we were bothering her by being there. We notice other staff member being so nice to their patrons we even had another waitress be attentive to us more than our original waitress. Would I still recommend this place? Yes, because I believe in second chances especially since it was one person and we are human. Bad days happen. I would recommend bringing cash if not you will be charge a card fee which is the norm in a lot of places. They have signs posted about this so no surprises here.

Came back to The Mug Rack over the weekend for breakfast w/ the wife & In-Laws. We were seated right away, place was moderately busy for a Sunday morning at 8am. I ordered a sausage, egg & cheese on a hard roll -- a VERY large sandwich, overall though, I thought it tasted just OK. Other breakfasts ordered were average & pretty standard. My wife had the Eggs Benedict -- the eggs were overdone, yolk was not runny. But that does seem to happen a lot when ordering Eggs Benedict, I suspect many places pre-cook the poached eggs then re-heat them when a Benedict is ordered. She also felt the hollandaise sauce was too sweet. It's hard to find an Eggs Benedict done right. Service was good and the prices are reasonable at The Mug Rack.

I can't believe I waited so long to come back to Harvest. What was I thinking ?…read more We went out for lunch to celebrate my friend's birthday and Harvest turned out to be a great choice! The location is a little further than we would normally travel, but it was worth it. I loved all the farm to table foods they have. They even nicely promote all the partners they use right on the wall of the restaurant, so you know where all your food comes from. Everyone loved their meals! I had the Thai chicken sandwich and it was so flavorful and delicious. It came with a side and I picked baked sweet potato wedges that were really good and so memorable that a week later I am still thinking about them. Other dishes ordered were the chicken salad and strawberry salad which my friends both enjoyed. Our server was very good and didn't rush us as we were just chatting up a storm. The restaurant suggests reservations which are a good idea, especially for dinner. I will definitely be back and can't wait to put Harvest on my restaurant rotation. Sorry no photos this time... the food was just so good and we were hungry!

Tucked away in a small town, you will find a cozy nook to discover American cuisine…read more Brand: 5/5 Harvest is a small restaurant in Farmingdale specializing in New American cuisine. The entrance stands out in this borough, despite its small size. I do think that sign with the wooden background reflected the cozy interior quite well with a homey style. The country décor on the walls also enhances the aesthetics. Website: 5/5 It wastes no time, for it immediately opens you to the menu where most of the items have their own images. I appreciated the minimalistic design where the understandable font provides you with the information. The basic description of the establishment does say that they rely on locally sourced ingredients. Ambiance: 5/5 Normally, dark interiors would not necessarily work for eateries unless they achieve a cozy vibe; which is what Harvest did perfectly. The wooden walls provide a sense of comfort underneath lights dim enough to not offend the eyes but bright enough to see. Despite the cramped space, I did think that the interior fitted the ambiance, along with the smooth country music playing over the radio. Service: 5/5 The staff was quite jovial and patiently explained a part of the menu. We had no issues with our orders. Wait Time: 5/5 I did wait awhile for the meals, though we managed to get our orders without any interruptions. Food: 4/5 I ordered the Grilled Chicken Thai Sandwich with no additional sides, with a free, complementary glass of water. It has ciabatta beard containing grilled chicken, spinach, cucumbers, and Thai sauce. I do not know if the signature sauce is authentically Thai, but I will say that I could barely tolerate the pungent taste and smell. I cannot say whether it is the feature. Every other part, such as the spinach and the cucumbers, definitely complemented the grilled chicken with a juicy taste. The ciabatta bread buns managed to hold their form, even as the contents started to fall off. Worth The Money?: 2/5 I will say that Harvest brand has as much of a highfalutin status as its prices. While the restaurant reflects the New American cuisine, it does not come off as condescending. Nevertheless, I still thought that the limited menu items just do not help with the prices. For the website, I would suggest a list of all the farms and independent distributors that Harvest relies on for ingredients, and to include a backstory about how Harvest began and where the name came from. I find local-sourcing incredibly important and commend Harvest for incorporating this into their business model. Concerning the food, I will say that the Grilled Chicken Thai sandwich did have suffice within the ambiance. The wait time it took to make the meal was appropriate enough. I will say that the wait time did feel long within the establishment, especially when no one else was around. Nevertheless, the service did make the food worth the wait and the ambiance worth immersing in. With all of this being said, would I say that the overall price would bring me back? Not really. Even the complementary water could not win me over when compared to the prices. Prestigious New American eateries tend to have a focus on specific consumer bases, and I am just not one of them. I do not score low on this part out of spite, rather based on my current station and many other people. I did tip the staff and I did have enough satisfaction with the meal. Rating: 4/5 Stars I do not know how Harvest would carry itself into the future, though I can see how it would suffice as a New American restaurant. Recommend To... Anyone with enough disposable income looking for a quiet restaurant.

I came in to try their new menu items and ended up going all in--and honestly, everything delivered. What stood out right away is how much variety they have. Yes, the burgers are great (I tried the double American smash and the Oklahoma outlaw smash--both were juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly), but the menu goes way beyond that. I was especially impressed with the salads and bowls. I tried a mix including the chicken Caesar, crispy chicken bacon ranch, buffalo chicken, honey mustard, and the southwest avocado chicken, plus the avocado chicken burger bowl. Everything tasted super fresh, generous portions, and actually filling--not your typical boring salad situation. The wraps are also a great option if you want something quick but still satisfying. Now let's talk about the indulgent side--the Nashville hot chicken sandwich had the perfect kick, and pairing it with the Nashville hot chicken fries was a must. The Philly cheesesteak fries were absolutely loaded and easily one of my favorite things I tried. The California chicken BLT is another item I would definitely go back for. Overall, I love that you can go here whether you're in the mood for something lighter like a salad or going full comfort food with burgers and loaded fries. Everything felt fresh, flavorful, and made to order. Definitely worth checking out--and the best part is you can find these items at any of their locations.

We tried 30 Burgers this weekend, and we ordered the onion rings, sweet potato fries, Chipotle…read moreBison Burger, El Paso Burger, and the Bullseye BBQ burger. The onion rings overall were tasty, however, despite most of them being cooked well, one of them was a little burnt. The sweet potato fries were cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious, however, the fries could have used a little seasoning. Overall, both beef burgers were delicious. They were well cooked and the toppings were fresh. We thought the bison burger was good but we would reccomend the beef patty over the bison burger (this may be because we prefer beef over bison). There were a lot of sweet potato fries and onion rings, however, the burgers were a little small. A bigger guy might need 2 burgers instead of one. Because of this, we thought it was a little bit pricey, but the sides were well priced. Overall, the staff was very friendly! Both cashiers asked if we needed help as we were waiting to order! The restaurant was also clean, and it was well decorated. If you decide to go, the restaurant has a similar feel to a restaurant like Smash Burger. We do reccomend trying this place out. The food was good despite little critiques, and we enjoyed the ambiance
