Let's start by say, really disappointed at this place. Found out a great 80s band was performing at this place so called to find out about reservations. $10 at the Door or $200 for a vip booth for 4. Cool. Booked a $200 Booth. Vip states on reservation 2drinks included for 4 guests. Ordered our drinks and food. After about 40 min we received our food. Nachos were cold, and had pico on it. Menu did not say pico, or I would of said no pico. Still no drinks. A friend stopped what seemed to be owner or manager to let him know we have been waiting for drinks for an hour, as his response was( you haven't been waiting for an hour) wth. Ok ok 45-50min. When drinks got to table order another round and shots that literally took over 30 min to get second round. Very disappointed. Last but not least, got bill and was charged for all my drinks. Had to remind them we spent $200 on a table, and 8 drinks were to be free/ included. Got bill back after my card was already charged, and the issued a $80 refund. Wait wait. Drinks were $14 each. The math did not add up. Waitress called the manager/owner over and he said the eight drinks or $10 drinks for free. I let him know that the advertisement did not say $10 drinks and we did not know there was a $10 drink everything on the menu is $14. OK forget about it walked out disappointed. Again went for the band who was great. Establishment poor. Need more bartenders and more staffing. read more

I LOVE The Mixx. Beautiful, contemporary decor, spacious. Great staff. Fun events--especially their tribute bands featured frequently here. The crowd is pretty friendly and cool. I feel very safe and comfortable socially here. Some I usually come here for the live entertainment later at night, I am delighted at the quality of the food they offer. So much better than your usual bar fare. Parking is easy on the street nearby. All around, a win in every category. Plus, well ventilated! read more

I will say upon arrival of the ambience seems empty but once you are inside the bartender, Carlos would definitely take care of you happy hour is definitely a steal. All the drinks are very strong and very tasty. Customer service is 10 out of 10 and I'd highly recommend especially after work on a long shift the chicken sandwich with extra seasoning was very good did not disappoint and I had a very good side sauce for my sweet potato fries I will be back when I have more time to sit there and get drunk. I have lived in Pasadena for 7 years now and this is by far the best place I have found. I would come here just to have a drink and I would come here just for food! The service is amazing! Carlos is the best bartender from tim buck two to Portland Maine or Portland Oregon for that matter! The owner is also a stand up gentleman that makes you feel right at home and will take care of you. The ambiance is amazing with several TVs and giant projector. Great bar seating and lots of club like lounge chairs. The food is spectacular as well. Great prices and diverse. If you want to have some lobster tacos and a beer, you can't go wrong here. Generous portions and taste to match. Can't say enough good things about this place. Locals are frequent and amazing too, you will always feel at home. Thanks gents! keep up the great work. Live music starts REALLY late compared to other LA music venues (I.e Whisky a go go, rainbow room, etc)-like 11PM start with no other live music beforehand. Tickets had a start time of 9 but that s BS. - expect it to be as late as possible. The owners obviously want to max out profits keeping patrons waiting and bored. The band we went to see - a Smiths tribute band- was there for 4 hours drinking before dragging themselves on stage at 11PM so that was not the reason. Get your dinner and pre-drinks ELSEWHERE before the band you want to see (figure it will be after 10:30) otherwise you'll be trapped here for hours. Kind of sucks. ...And after all the wait the band 's cover of the Smiths was akin to a mediocre wedding band. The songs were acoustically muddled and the lead singer lacked any sort of charisma depth or passion. Kind of a emo poser version of it all. Maybe it was the band's 4 hours of drinking beforehand. Whatever. Our server, Grizel, was very friendly and as attentive as possible considering the overall lack of servers- hence the 2 stars. But ultimately this place will turn over as soon as the owners find a way to get out of their lease. 5$ watered down happy hour drinks will only go so far when there are so many other great options in Pasadena and LA. Lastly, the owners childish, hothead response below is your BEST indicator of why you should avoid The Mixx. Ed obviously has no business sense and certainly doesn't understand the concept of hospitality in the HOSPITALITY industry. Imagine how you would be treated by such an oaf if you were to address an undercooked meal like another reviewer here? Instead wasting time with immature silly remarks to honest Yelp criticism from patrons a successful business owner would try to improve. That's the whole point of Yelp and why this business will fail. To save people from poorly run businesses. See his other foolish responses to other unhappy customers. Anyway, Will see if Yelp compromises its integrity and sidelines this very fair review of why this restaurant worth skipping. read more

The Mixx Pasadena is somewhere I recently started going to since it is so close to my workplace, but i quickly fell in love. The place looks nice and is always clean, the servers are extremely nice, and the food is great and reasonably priced! Their lunch menus includes one entree, a drink, and your choice of either salad or fries all for $12. This although is not exactly cheap, is a pretty decent price, especially in Pasadena! I typically get the fries and either the salmon burger or the chicken Cesar salad. Both are always prepared very well and is extremely delicious. They have a lot of other options as well for any type of preference. My only advice is that the food sometimes takes awhile to come out. This can be difficult for those coming out during their lunch break. However when you bite into the food it becomes worthwhile because it is extremely fresh. The ambiance is very nice as well. They have a beautiful bar and the place is always very well kept. At the back of the restaurant they have a little stage for what looks like a possible live band. The servers here also are extremely nice. They work very hard, and are always hustling to bring you the best. I would for sure go back to this restaurant and have already been a few times. I work in the area and decided to come for lunch with a coworker. It was very empty, with only one server managing the whole restaurant. We were seated immediately at a booth and he was nothing but sweet and kind throughout the rest of our visit. The items are $12 each on the menu, with only burgers coming with a side AND drink. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan and it was DELICIOUS. My coworker ordered a Mac n cheese and she enjoyed it as well. In fact, we liked both the food and service so much that we've decided to come back to finish the rest of their menu! The Mixx is on a corner so it may be a little easy to miss. read more
