Everything bagel with bacon egg & cheese

We loved stopping in, grabbing some bagel sandwiches and an amazing special bbq egg sandwich! Got some bagels and homemade veggie cream cheese to go! The iced lattes were great!

Chicken Caesar Wrap

Delicious wraps! I got the chicken caesar and my husband had the buffalo chicken. The amount of chicken was generous and the wrap itself was quite tasty! They also have Sweet Maui onion potato chips... which I don't see at many cafes. Definitely give those a try... yum!

I will be fair. This place is delicious; but has its issues. A very surprising find in the small town of Topton, PA. I have only recently discovered this establishment, within the past year. Breakfast is my usual, sometimes lunch. Food is always delicious and fresh. Seating is great, people are very nice....price is fantastic. I recommend it! ______________________________________________ Now for the honest issues. The service is not so great. One experience was during brunch around 11 in the morning. They seemed busy, but had plenty of staff in full view. It took 40 minutes from order to table for two simple sandwiches. All the while I was watching them and waiting with the other customers. At one point standing in view of the kitchen watching the happenings (I had plenty of time to waste). I witnessed about 5-6 people on staff. The cashier (also waiter) was taking lots of orders at a great pace, very calm and patient. One boy making the food in view, but seemed to always be working on the same item, in the same area. One woman acting as waitress bringing food, also making drinks. She did not give napkins with the food. I had to stand in line for 6 minutes, as napkins were behind the ordering counter. No apology, nothing. If I was a waitress, I would have them on hand in my apron, etc. Two or three other staff were confused looking and wandering around in the hustle, or having a smoke break. One even seemed confused about the order receipts hanging, not knowing what was being worked on and what was already on tables. Organization and customer service is key! So if you are willing to wait a long time and have great food with no napkins, this is a great place.

Former train station now cafe!

Quality was on point and the prices were really reasonable. Staff was working hard, but still really friendly and efficient. Definitely a must try! Check out the cheese curds with honey, tarragon, and macadamia nuts for a crunchy and unique dish. They paired beautifully with the house made pickles.

Unfortunately, there was a strong cold draft at floor level, leaving our feet uncomfortably cold throughout the meal. The hostess was sweet and greeted us with a smile. The food service was unremarkable. Our waiter was not particularly friendly nor personable. The drinks were a weak start. The red sangria was poor. The bourbon cocktail was an odd mix of bourbon, apple cider, and other elements--an awkward, Frankenstein-style whiskey sour that simply didn't work. Worst of all, both drinks were served in thin plastic cups, which immediately cheapened the entire experience. I ordered the falafel sandwich and specifically requested a toasted bun. It arrived not just room temperature, but cold. I sent it back, and it returned burning hot... the bottom soggy... literally too hot to pick up... with no browning or color change, clearly microwaved. Microwaving is not toasting. At that point, the sandwich was inedible. I removed the bun entirely and ate just the falafel, which was dry and largely tasteless. At this point I knew coming back to this restaurant was a mistake. Food timing was another issue. The dishes took roughly 45 minutes to arrive after the drinks, possibly longer. We were all getting annoyed and what started out well when we first walked in turned negative. I wasn't impressed on my first visit years ago... and this second visit confirmed it. Between the poor drinks, cheap plastic cups, ridiculously long wait (with no explanation nor apology), and careless food execution, there's no reason to return.

Bowers is famous for its hot pepper fest, but the hotel remains true to local Pennsylvania Dutch fare. It's quaint, historic and has the best homemade desserts. After our first meal there my partner asked if I was interested in dessert. I said, I was craving something coconut. He laughed and said they won't have anything like that. Well they had 3, coconut pie, coconut cake and coconut pudding which was delicious and more like cake. That sealed the deal for me, so here we are back again. I started with a cocktail which is rare for me. The Brandy Daisy was delightfully refreshing. I had the special grilled cheese. A spectacular creation starting with brioche, spread with pesto, layered with ham, bacon, cheddar, lettuce and tomato. I declined the egg which would have been too much for me. The house made chips were thick and crisp and seasoned really well. Partner had the schnitzel (I got his salad). The mashed potatoes were oddly brown. But quite delicious as was the veal, I had to taste both. We were fat and happy so we had to take dessert to go. Coconut walnut cake was moist and delicious packed with all the goodies. Buttercream iced 3 layer chocolate reminded me of my Pop Pop's. It was late, there were only 2 other tables so we had all the attention we needed. Starting to notice a growing disparity between cost and quality. This was a fine meal for the price, nearly equal to the one the night before which cost twice as much. So I included the bill

We visit Jim Thorpe annually and were excited to try this place given its vegan options. When we entered the restaurant, the set-up was a little confusing. They did seat us pretty quickly though, and the service was probably the only positive to this experience. My husband and I both ordered cocktails; he had the Manhattan while I had a special vodka drink they were offering that day. Our drinks were overall fine but not anything special. My husband's Manhattan was very basic tasting. The menu and the food were the worst parts. The menu is unnecessarily long and phony sounding, like they are trying to be quirky but just come across as fake and condescending. There's extra, unnecessary description of the food that makes the menu difficult and frankly annoying to review. We ordered the bread teaser as well as the hummus. The pesto and the hummus were basic store level quality. The bread was definitely undercooked. For our entrees, we ordered the Cleopatra salad and a pasta dish. The salad tasted fine enough but it was basically just romaine lettuce with a very light dusting of nutritional yeast, vegan cheese, and a very low amount of chickpeas/protein. The pasta was an absolute travesty. It was extremely oily, flavorless, and bland. To top it all off, the food is extremely expensive! They have absolutely no business charging that much. The interior of the place is also a waste of space. It doesn't make any sense that it calls itself a pub. There's also stupid decor everywhere, including a sign that says "no" leading out to an employee-only location. I guess that's supposed to be funny but just comes across as condescending. It's a shame that this place has such a good location with Jim Thorpe and apparently can make a pretty penny serving subpar food and weird vibes. Don't waste your money.
