Cute decor, cool staff, but food service time and taste needs improvement. We placed our orders and it took almost an hour for the food to arrive. It was maybe 6 other ppl in the Cafe. Once the food arrived we were disappointed in each meal. Our meals were not hot, lacked flavor and seemed slapped together. My stuff French toast was cold abd the cream a bit sour..the egg platter the eggs were overcooked, the avocado toast may have been the best option Also note to owner please place better signage...if you can pass the space because of the shared space with the bike shop Istagramabble yes...food quality poor read more

I may have a slight obsession with their chicken salad. In fact, it may have ruined all other chicken salads! But everything here is incredible, including the atmosphere and the staff. I've eaten lunch here so many times and have never had a bad experience. I've also used them for catering for my business and everything was perfection! We held our daughter's Bridal Shower at Cafe23 and they exceeded our expectations. The main dishes were phenomenally delicious and the deserts were exceptionally scrumptious. This place makes me feel like I'm in a winter ski lodge. It is beautifully decorated. The staff was very friendly. We didn't order food but the matcha latte, coffee and hot chocolate were just what the doctor ordered on this brisk afternoon. If you're looking for it while driving by, it is in through the same door for the bicycle shop. read more

Came for brunch and didn't have a great time The positives were short: the bread for the sandwiches was decently tasty and the bathroom was well maintained and outfitted The negatives: -they didn't have any potatoes ready for the day so all dishes that included potatoes needed to be ordered without them as the potatoes wouldn't be ready for another hour. This effectively cut the menu in half -Waters were never refilled or offered to be the entire two hours we were here -hot sandwiches were almost all served cold and the egg was overcooked on one of them -Chicken Caesar Wrap was tiny and so was the breakfast burrito. Like tiny tiny -Food and service took a very long time (two hours from sitting down to receiving check) and the place was nearly empty when we sat down and ordered -The wrong menu item was brought out for one of our friends who dined with us -an ordered side of hot sauce came nearly an hour after the initial food was brought out -the large and small drinks were volumetrically the same despite a difference in price -things kept getting burned in the kitchen and the ventilation didn't seem to be working so the whole dining area was smoky Overall it felt like the restaurant was way more focused on aesthetics and instagramability than quality of the actual food. Which is possibly why the majority of the images available on the internet are of the restaurant itself and not the food they serve The pricing wasn't great either. overall not an experience we intend to try again read more

Cafe 23 - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Emmaus, Pennsylvania

First off, if I could rate 3.5 stars, that's what I would rate. Cafe 23 has been in Emmaus for a beat, but I haven't had the chance to come until today. There were good points and less than good points - so please read till the end. 1) I came in at 1:10 on a Friday: I expected them to be busy. The cafe holds space for maybe 30. The restaurant wasn't full, but seemed busy -maybe 2/3 occupancy. 2) We waited: We were seated, then waited at least 10 minutes-maybe 15-until we were greeted by a server. My companion noted that the owner was seated at the bar and remained on her phone for most of our visit. 3) My order: I ordered the Jonah - the Nordic smoked salmon. I will note that it tasted great. It was delicious. However, I will also note that for 18$, it was a piece of grocery store (Think Maier's) bread with cream cheese, a bit of salmon, greens, and salt... So was it more expensive than good? Honestly, it was just on the cusp. If it had been served on an 8" piece of French bread, I'd have said it was excellent. The bread was an "I like the flavor, but I won't buy this again" for me. I also ordered a side of mixed berries. What arrived at my table was a quarter cup of blueberries and blackberries. My companion's side of berries (which came alongside her order) included strawberries. Did I feel cheated? Yes, because the two quarter cups were delivered at the same time. Was the quality of the berries good? Not really. Pretty flavorless. In addition to my lunch, I ordered a dragon fruit acai bowl for $13 to go. The bowl was huge, but remarkably and utterly tasteless. It was just mediocre - and I can't say enough that it was not impressive in any way. 4) Service: It took a long time to get a server at the table, took a while to get our order, and while the server was nice, she was less than attentive. It wasn't bad service, but it was by no means great. I ran out of water. It was never refilled. 5) My rating: C-. It's not enough for a return visit, but because of the flavor of the food, I wish-wish-wish I could have given this a better review. Particular sadness: The owner on her phone for the majority of our visit. Do I feel like a jerk for saying all of this? Yes. I do, but honestly, for the money and the lessons learned, I would rather make the salmon at home, skip the flavorless (YET IN SEASON) fruit dishes, and serve myself. read more

Came in for brunch with my 10 year old. We were seated in 30 seconds at 12pm on a Saturday. Great range of options, loved the latte and smoothies. We had a breakfast sandwich and a quesadilla and sides of fruit. Service was friendly and fast, ambiance warm and cozy. read more

I went here this Sunday really excited to try something new. We walk in, 20 min wait to be seated, which was fine because it was a Sunday at brunch. We get seated, server comes over to take our order, and then we don't see her again for 1.5 HOURS. We waited for our food for 1.5 hours, which was absolutely insane. A 1.5 hour wait and it wasn't even insanely busy by the time we were seated. Finally the food comes out, I ordered the Luke, it's not even hot . The cheese on top wasn't even melted, just like they took a bag of store bought shredded cheese and dumped it on top of cold food. It was completely unseasoned, and did I mention not hot? After waiting for two hours I was hoping the food would make up for it but it was honestly the most disappointing meal and restaurant experience I have had in the longest time. We saw our server when we first placed our order and not again until after our 1.5 hour wait for the food. She fully disappeared. Will not ever be going back lol. Only plus is the live music, the singer was really good. Oh and the tik tak toe pieces were fun to play with during all our free time. read more
