Not a regular coffee shop that you would think of. They roast and brew their own coffees. You can buy coffee to make at home and/or buy a cup to drink. The hot coffee is self service. They also offer 3 iced and a cold brew. Staff is really friendly and offer free samples of the different coffees. No seating , it's more of a quick stop and go. They have a cute firehouse esthetic. It's a very fun little business that has amazing coffee! I had a shoofly pie iced coffee. Shoofly pie is a PA Dutch specialty that has a buttery crumble topping and a deep molasses flavor. I totally tasted all of those flavor notes on my stop there. I will let folks know that this is more of a bulk coffee shop than it is a place where you can get any espresso-based drinks like lattes, americanos, etc. If you're looking for a Starbucks-style store, this is not it. read more

We took a different route on our way back to DC after visiting relatives for the holidays and are sure glad we did! We came across Firehouse Coffee and decided to give it a try. Its bright and clean inside with an amazing fresh roasted smell of coffee. They've got a few options set up and encourage you to try as many as you'd like. I'm not really one for flavored coffee but the egg nog flavor was outstanding! The hubby and I left with fresh coffee and bags of beans. Our only regret is we couldn't fill a huge insulated mug to last the entire trip home! I can honestly say it was one of the best cups of coffee I have ever had. They make really cute gift baskets and I was happy to find out they ship. This will be one of my "go-to" gifts. The owner spoke to us and shared his passion for his business and you can see the genuine excitement when he talks about this place. It is truly a labor of love. The coffee is fantastic. They have so many different varieties. I'm definitely a coffee snob, and am usually quite skeptical of flavored beans, but Firehouse Coffee does it SO WELL which is so hard to find. The cold brew and vanilla iced coffee really stood out to me. As well as their dark roast of the day, I think it was a Sumatra? The cold brew was smooth with no astringency at all, delicious. The vanilla iced coffee was not overly sweet and very well balanced, color me impressed. The girl behind the counter was so helpful and sweet, we were able to try a bunch of different things before we decided and the owner told us all about his vision for the place. I had passed by Firehouse Coffee numerous times thinking, "Wow! What a unique and inviting storefront!" It just seemed I was passing by when I did not have time to stop or when the shop was closed. This past Saturday my daughter was visiting from NC. I had told her about Firehouse Coffee and made plans to stop there. We were not disappointed!! Mike, the owner, was so personable. He encouraged us to sample all of his fresh brewed coffee. All were amazing! Mike has a real passion for his coffee business. We learned about the history of his business as well as the history of the building where his shop is now located. We ended up purchasing 5 bags of coffee with Chocolate Raspberry being my favorite! The best news is that Mike sells all his flavors in decaf as well as caffeinated!! For those of you who are growing tired of decaf French Vanilla or decaf Hazelnut from your local grocery store, be sure to stop in at Firehouse Coffee for the best decaf flavors you will ever try!
