Great for bridal or baby showers, receptions, etc. I recently went to a baby shower in the back room - great for ~40 guests. The space was sooo cute and they had the most delicious spread of food and wine/beer! I loved all the small bites and variety - it was dainty but still filling. The wine selections were awesome, and abundant! The server that maintained the food and poured the drinks was incredible - so quick to help and clear plates. Went here for a birthday brunch for a friend. The food was good but I felt it was missing some standard sweet options for brunch. The decor and atmosphere is so cute and they have some really great pasteries, so I may just stick to those next time. This place is super cute. I thoroughly enjoy the light and airy feeling this restaurant has throughout the establishment. I have been to this location for a private event in the separate room and knew I would return. This time around, it was a more intimate brunch. So many choices looked appealing, but I selected the Lynhall Standard. My personal choices included scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, lamb sausage, potatoes, and toast. I also requested a side of roasted Brussels Sprouts to complete the brunch fun! Everything tasted so well done and hearty. My review for The Lynhall is a bit different. I didn't have anything to eat here. Rather, it was an event location to meet Molly Yeh and have her latest cookbook, Home is Where the Eggs Are, signed by her. When I saw that Molly was doing a cookbook signing in Minneapolis at The Lynhall, I immediately jumped on this opportunity to meet her. This event took place on a Wednesday night at 5 pm. I first stumbled across her show, Girl Meets Farm, on the Food Network in my hotel room during one of many trips to the Twin Cities. I loved that she lives on a farm near the Minnesota-North Dakota border with her hubby and children. I used to do the drive through both states between Winnipeg and Rochester. I love her recipes, from hotdishes that Minnesotans get instinctively, to her black sesame babka, which sealed the deal for me. She infuses her Jewish and Chinese heritage into her recipes with little effort. So awesome and creative! The Lynhall was the perfect venue for this event. There is limited parking in front of the eatery. Instead, I parked on W 26th Street, near Aldrich Avenue South, which was a brief walk over. Parking was free. I entered through the main doors that face W 27th Street. It was an extremely organized event, with one staff member finding my name on the list and handing me a cookbook. I leafed through it as I was figuring out where to go. You could grab a bite or a drink at the bar on the left. I wasn't hungry and lined up. It was a long lineup that snaked through the venue. However, everyone was friendly. To my right, where there was a counter, the eatery had complimentary icy water. I took a glass and had some. It hit the spot as I continued to wait in line to meet Molly. I got to look at the kitchen as I waited. The dough mixers looked impressive. I look forward to dining here for breakfast and trying some baked goods. The kitchen was fairly quiet, but you could get salads and sandwiches. I'm not sure where they were prepared, though. I noticed a kitchen area where live cooking demos can be conducted. It also looked impressive. It was across from where Molly was. It was a thrill to have met her and have her sign my cookbook. It was a memorable evening. Her cookbook has straightforward, creative recipes. The toughest part is figuring out what to make first. I think her hotdish with tater tots on top will be first on my list. Once I snapped out of meeting Molly (she's super nice and awesome), I exited through the side entrance, which faces Aldrich Avenue South. I saw where you could hang your coat if you were dining here. However, I never came across where the washrooms were. So many questions. I'll figure the answers out soon. It's a restaurant during the day. Beautiful restaurant and with a very rustic feel all around. Very impressed with how chill and relaxed it was. My family and I didn't make any reservations but we were seated immediately after coming in, despite being busy. Also, the servers approached us nicely, taking our orders quickly, and also very attentive with either filling up our water carafe or refilling the coffee. The food was very delicious, ordered the Lynhall Standard with the lamb sausage. Every bite was delicious and seasoned well. Every bite of the lamb sausage was juicy and an explosion of flavor. The bread was toasted well, with the fresh jam. The home fries/potatoes were wonderful and a nice addition. If you like spicy, definitely try their in-house hot sauce, had a hint of sweetness, but the spice kicks in wonderfully (not just overly spicy for spiciness' sake). read more

Lynhall is awesome! I came here for brunch some weeks back with friends and ordered a chocolate croissant, pistachio croissant, and a classic eggs Benny. The egg in the eggs Benny was unfortunately a bit overcooked, but the incredible shaved ham, delicious biscuit, and fresh hollandaise sauce more than made up for it. Despite the egg not being runny, this Benedict was awesome! I would love to come back here and get it again, and fingers crossed it would be a perfectly poached egg because then this might be my favorite brunch spot in the cities. FOOD: I ordered the pastrami spiced salmon scramble and the gremolata fried potatoes and they were both very tasty. The salmon scramble had both salmon pieces inside as well as roe on top. My friend ordered the squash bisque and winter vegetable hash and also said that it was great! We also got brunch drinks - the cold weather mary and faith healer were unique and fun. I say upscale because of the prices and quality of food, but causal because you definitely could wear whatever you wanted here. A few other notes: There is a parking lot and free street parking too. Service was great, not super quick but I think it's because our waitress picked up on the fact that we were having great convo and not in a hurry. Bathrooms were clean and cute. 5-6 individual rooms gender neutral. Extra plus their soap smelled great! This is also used as an event space so we noticed several people coming in to ask questions and take pictures of it for a venue. I've been here twice and while it's a decent spot for brunch, it's nothing special. I know a lot of people who really enjoy coming here for afternoon tea, I just don't think the food is that great. When we arrived, we stood around near the host stand for 10 minutes before anyone came by to sit us. And it wasn't particularly busy when we arrived. We sat outside where the tables are a bit small for a group and felt a little claustrophobic. The staff was nice though. Our group had the season veggie hash, the breakfast gnocchi, and the avocado toast. All solid but again nothing to write home about. Awesome brunch spot. The pastries are made in-house and some of the best I've ever had which is saying a lot. The matcha cinnamon bun melts in your mouth. The bottomless drip coffee is a bit spendy at $4.50 but so smooth and I got plenty of refills. We tried the Braised Bison Hash, Rye Crepes, and a daily special of duck omelette. I highly recommend all of them. The crepes are definitely a sweeter option but so good. Plenty of seating space and big windows. There were a few people working on laptops while we were there. This is a great brunch spot! The staff is super friendly and helpful. There's lots of seating and has great decor. It features an open kitchen so you can see them preparing your food. Everyone I was with got the Lynhall standard which is eggs, roasted potatoes, toast with jam and your choice of protein. It was all very tasty. Went to the Lynhall for brunch, of courseeee, and got the Winter Vegetable Hash. I wasn't expecting to like the hash as much as I did but wowwww was it ever good. I devoured it all. I think my main complaint with the Lynhall is that it is a fancier spot, and therefore more expensive, and therefore doesn't have many "classical breakfast dishes that I typically go for (I.e. pancakes or waffles or breakfast burritos). I understand this is my opinion and this place is going for a fancier approach so the issue is me not going to the right place, but stilllll. I'd love more classic breakfast options at their brunch, the fancy options are fun but I guess I'm more of a basic breakfast type of person. Give me a cheap stack of pancakes and I'll be happy lol. I've been to both the Lynlake and Edina locations and both are solid and equally great with the difference being the parking available (this one has a small lot but a good amount of street parking nearby) and slight variations in the menu. Food is always great, especially the pastries, and I love the brunch combo where they offer a coffee, a pastry, mimosa and an entree. Service is also great and so are the vibes. I loooove The Lynhall! I would describe it as a perfect spot to grab a bougie brunch on the weekends with some friends to catch up. They've got some yummy options that I believe change all the time. One thing to note is that this definitely isn't a super budget friendly place. I love the versatility of The Lynhall - it's a fantastic spot to get some work done did. It's not as quiet as a traditional coffee shop so if you can't stand that stale, can hear a pin drop kind of silence, this is a great spot! They also have free refills on brewed coffee so you can really get some bang for your buck on a campout here. For all my milk alternative lovers out there, they have oat milk!!! The service is always amazing, super sweet cashiers and baristas. They also have a private lot and it's that's full, its location is really close to a lot of residential streets with free parking! Last but not least, the aesthetic. I was recommended this place to get a meal and some work done, and it was perfect! It was extremely spacious and I loved how there were different types of seating available. I first started out on a high table that looked outside, but eventually moved over to the bar where I could charge my laptop. It was super fun being able to watch the baristas make drinks as I did work. I first ordered the Ichabod which was a featured drink - dulce de leche, pumpkin spices and sea salt. I got it hot and it was so delicious, you could taste all of the ingredients and it wasn't too sweet and none of the spices were overbearing. For brunch, I ordered the Shakshouka which was smaller than shakshoukas I have ordered in the past, but it was just as filling. I wish the cheese was sprinkled on and melted a little more evenly but that was easy for me to do myself. The chickpea fries were unique and were so delicious. The crispy on the outside and the softness on the inside went perfectly with the saucy shakshouka. WiFi was great, outlets scattered throughout the shop, lighting was great (I appreciated the large windows that brought in natural lighting). They have bottomless black coffee and truthfully one cup gave me the coffee buzz. The scones are delicious and there's also a really good eggs Benedict. Dined in for brunch on a sunny weekday morning. The natural light fills the entire restaurant giving it a warm spring feeling even on a frigid Minnesota day. When it first opened, I saw many really beautiful photos of the food at the Lynhall and I finally made it over one night for dinner several months ago (somehow I managed to not write this review until now). First the space is lovely - clean and modern but also warm and welcoming. There are lots of places that you can sit and there is open long table seating. I had a bowl of the tomato soup, which was about twice as big as I thought it was going to be, was absolutely delicious. I also had the chicken salad sandwich, which I think is no longer on the menu but was also very tasty. I was somewhat surprised that it was an open-faced sandwich, but it was still excellent. The green tea is very nice until it gets bitter at the end. The lynhall standard is good, the jam was yummy with the sausage ( did not predict it would go well together). The soft scrambled egg did not have much salt of black pepper to it. The service was good and we got good waitress. The cinnamon roll looks and taste amazing. We did have to reserve for sitting and social distancing seating was very space out. The mimosa was the worst thing i have gotten there. The food variety is not excellent, some of them are quite similar (scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, quiche, shakshuka, etc.) The taste was not impressive either, everything tastes quite bland. I ended up ordering 2 sides of scrambled eggs and toast with seasonal jam - like I said none was outstanding. I also ordered a decaf iced latte. I saw an Instagram photo of their mango coconut tres leche cake and literally went the next day. I was convinced I was already in love with this combo since all separately are divine. I was a little confused on walking in, mainly since I'm use to being seated then placing an order with a server. Here menus are placed in front and at the order counter. You receive a number after you order and you grab a place to sit. It's a modern, bright, large space with community tables spread out so you won't have an issue finding seating. I ordered the potato skillet with fried red potato, poached egg, sweet and spicy mustard hollandaise, and kimchi. Then of course my cake, with a cup of coffee. It was a little spendy. My skillet was okay. The potatoes were crispy, and hot! But, my egg was on the border of overcooked, and I wish there was more mustard and kimchi flavors. The cake was the biggest disappointment. First impression upon walking into The Lynhall...this place is absolutely gorgeous! It's also like a hipster paradise--not that there's anything wrong with that. Wooden tables and separate rooms abound. Heads up: this is a walk-up and order place, grab your own coffee and water, etc. My friend and I came here for brunch and decided to do the Brunch Bundle which is an entree, sweet pastry, coffee, and your choice of bloody mary or apple mimosa all for $25. I decided on the brioche french toast that has loads of whipped cream, syrup, and glazed apples on top. Some of the best french toast I've had! It wasn't too eggy and all those flavors combined was outstanding. My only minor grievance is that I wish there was at least a traditional breakfast option, like an egg, bacon, toast type of dish. French toast plus a sweet pastry...that's a lot of carbs! The good thing is I could save the pastry for the next day because that entree serving was huge! There was plenty of open space here so we didn't feel like we had to rush through our meal. The rooms are bright with sunshine pouring in through the windows and the atmosphere is very light and rustic. I had the Piri Piri Chicken with a side of Roasted Cauliflower in Zatar sauce. So Good and still hot when by the time I got home! The chicken was flavorful throughout the chicken, perfectly roasted, and the Piri Piri sauce (think red pepper + cayenne) was super delicious. The cauliflower was tasty as always and paired perfectly with the chicken. Dessert cookie, as good as always, yum. The online ordering process was pretty seamless. Order the day before and set your pick up time. Park in the lot, walk into the side of the building, and grab your order from the pick-up table.
