What a fun experience! My son and I decided to give them a try on a weekday evening. As soon as you walk in it feels like you are transported to a pub in England. The inside decor is one of the coolest pubs I've ever been in. The far wood, decorations and even dark atmosphere was a big part of our experience. Donna was our server and she was awesome! She explained everything to us and gave us tips. Quick to tend to our drinks and never disappeared too long. I had a cup of tomato soup that was really good. Loved that it came out steaming hot and tasted amazing! The I follows up with the cottage pie. Loved it also. Great flavor and once again came out piping hot. DO NOT GO TO THIS BAR. As detailed in image.png, this establishment completely fails to take accountability for their abysmal management. I had family show up 2 hours early to reserve us a table under the explicit assurance from their staff that our group of 11 would be able to join them. When our full party arrived, management told us the exact opposite without making any attempt to remedy the situation. We had already ordered food and drinks for the group, but because they began giving away our reserved seats, we didn't even get to touch them. They didn't even offer a refund for the untouched items. Regarding their response in image.png, it is entirely disingenuous to claim it was our "choice" to leave. Why would our family stay there alone when the rest of our group was barred from entering the premises? Furthermore, do not assume or slander my group regarding threats of reputation damage; I am simply stating the facts of how this management mishandled our situation, nobody in our group was rowdy, unpolite, rude or drunk. We simply tried to understand why we were all lied to and the staff didn't bother to treat us with any respect. They say ppl are entitled when they mishandle situations however it just seems to me they love to project onto their customers. If your policy is "no seat saving," then train your staff to communicate that accurately to customers instead of leading them on for two hours. Stop keeping people waiting in line under false pretenses when you have switched to a "1 in, 1 out" policy. Learn to take accountability when you screw up. The Londoner is a decent bar located on Midway Rd. I haven't tried any of the food, so I can't speak on that, but the staff was friendly during my one visit here and the pour on my "kettle one on the rocks" was decent. I absolutely love this place. I've been coming to The Londoner in Addison for years, and it's always a great time. After Covid, I haven't been able to enjoy a Boddingtons here--which isn't their fault of course--but I do miss it. Honestly, I'd hop a plane to London for one of those bad boys! The bar staff here is always fantastic--friendly, knowledgeable, and confident in their recommendations. You can tell they stand behind their menu, and it shows. Over the years, I've tried a wide variety of dishes: the cheese toast with tomato soup, fish and chips, shepherd's pie, cottage pie, chicken tikka masala, and the bangers and mash. Every single one has been excellent. If I had to pick a favorite, it might just be the cheese toast with tomato soup--it's simple, comforting, and always hits the spot. That said, I've never been disappointed with anything I've ordered. Whether it's for dinner and drinks, just a pint, or catching a Premier League or international football match, The Londoner has the perfect atmosphere. It's one of the best spots around to watch a game. And while I still miss the Boddingtons, I have to say their Old Speckled Hen is top-notch. This is the 2nd time I come here and again met with disappointment. The lack of attention from the staff is infuriating. I wouldn't mind waiting if they check in with us but it seems like both times they attend to the bigger parties and even after making eye contact and waving down they look the other way. It really is disappointing considering we love watching the soccer games. I don't think I'll ever come a 3rd time after how bad the 2nd time was. Edit: food and drink was never ordered. We went up to the bar and asked for a menu and were told to wait at the table and someone would come by, no one ever stopped at the table. Edit #2: since we were there for a game we stayed nearly 2 hours, after the first hour we finally had someone take our order, food was fast and good! The waitress did acknowledge that we had to wait a long time before ordering without us saying anything so I do appreciate that, she ended up giving us a dessert on the house which again I appreciated. This ended way better than the 1st time here. I had the pleasure of being served by Jace during a recent visit to The Londoner in Addison, and I truly can't say enough about how exceptional he was. We weren't seated at a table. We were by the dart board, and I didn't even realize Jace was a server at first. I actually interrupted a conversation he was having to ask for darts, and not only was he completely gracious about it, but he also immediately transitioned into taking care of us without missing a beat. He asked where we were sitting (I told him we were playing darts), took our order at the bar, and continued to check in on us throughout the night with the friendliest, most genuine demeanor I've ever experienced from someone I didn't already know. His customer service was impeccable. Jace is attentive, upbeat, and totally natural. Nothing felt fake or scripted, just real hospitality with a great attitude. If you're at The Londoner and Jace is working, consider yourself lucky. He truly elevated the whole experience. read more

I keep giving it the benefit of doubt only to be disappointed! I ordered the Ruben, if you can see in the photo the meat is OLD. Tasted old and hard could not finish my sandwich, feel sick that I ate what i did. I was hungry. Not fresh fry's, reheated/cold French fry's. Sadly, was my only meal of the day! The "Blue Moons beer" took care of the hunger thank goodness. My husband Stomach of iron had the Cheese steak! Nothing ever bothers him and he loved the "Long Island ice tea and a walk back to the hotel he was fine. We had walked to the business wanting to release the pressure of today's work. Emma our server was by far the most pleasant, she was attentive and met our needs! However our dismay, we were still charged for the meal in question. However, if she addressed our concern with her manager her tip would have been the price of the meal in question plus the normal over 20% we always give. Ate here on a weeknight with the wife. Moderately busy. Seated quickly, good service, pleasant waitress. Food came out hot in a normal amount of time. Wife had the cottage pie, I had the haddock & chips. She said hers tasted just OK, but was disappointed with the very small amount of meat in the dish. My haddock was a quite large piece, fried. It was very greasy, not crisp at all and the exterior was a bit mushy. The fish itself was tasty and firm. The entire serving of fish was laid completely over the fries ("chips"), making the greasy fries even greasier; and being buried under the fish entree, instead of off to the side, I had to dig and maneuver to get to any fries. I had a truly terrible experience at this establishment and would not recommend it to anyone. I attended for a party where entry should have been free, yet I was charged a $10 entry fee. Later, my friend arrived around 8pm and was forced to pay another $10 just to sit at the bar--absolutely ridiculous. Things only got worse once we were seated. About 30 minutes in, staff came over and asked me where I got my chair. I explained that the seat was already at the table when I sat down. Instead of handling the situation professionally, they told me the chair belonged to another table and made me stand up in front of everyone. As a paying customer, and as a woman, this was humiliating. A good business would have simply brought another chair from the back or patio rather than embarrass a customer. On top of that, they served expensive drinks in plastic cups, claiming they were "running out of glasses." If you're charging customers to enter and even to sit at the bar, you should at least have staff to wash glasses and maintain proper service standards. The place is small, poorly managed, and not suited for parties larger than 5 people. This business clearly does not value or respect its customers. I was also attracted because of the scotch eggs and rusty nuts! I was a huge fan of the rusty nuts, full of flavor and unlike hush puppies, I could have eaten a tub if they were in front of me.
