The food is always amazing. Went for the Sunday brunch. With my family server and staff was amazing

Easy to find has a big private parking lot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Has inside and outside dining.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We went for a late lunch only one other couple in our area. Was seated quickly and took our drink and app order. Drinks and chips with 2 kinds of salsa came quickly. Waited quite a while for the good karma guacamole since we'd eaten most of the chips by then waiter asked if we'd like more and I said mostly the sweet potato ones which he brought quickly. We then ordered I asked for 2 smoked chicken enchiladas. It took quite a while to get a different waiter came said here's your cheese enchiladas I explained I wanted the smoked chicken he apologized and said no problem he then returned moments later and said these are the chicken ones I was wrong. I cut into one and it was only cheese no chicken at all. Both waiters seemed to disappear. When our main one came back I explained these aren't chicken he said I'll order you the right ones, I asked to have them be to go since my partner by then had finished his meal. We ordered the chocolate empanadas for dessert they were delicous came with a small container of rasberry. A while later waiter returned said it would be a few minutes the cook had made the right enchiladas but put the wrong sauce on them. I finally got the correct ones. I ate them the next day for lunch and they were delicious I know we'll be back. read more

They were firing on all cylinders today. The commitment to meet and exceed patron expectations is evident and welcome. A special shout out to Stephanie one of the hostess up front, literally made my experience better. She went out of her way to find me the perfect seating. I have been to the buffet at other Blue Mesa locations but not here. This is my first time enjoying the Thanksgiving spread and I'm happy I did. 4 different serving lines including breakfast,meats,tacos , enchiladas, traditional turkey,ham,stuffing. Soups,salads,fruit, desert. It was all there in abundance and kept fresh by a hardworking staff. Blue Mesa Grill is our go-to location for Tex Mex dining. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We arrived in mid-afternoon and practically had the place to ourselves.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was quiet and our server was especially nice and helpful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My wife had a birthday special, which includes a free appetizer and dessert with the purchase of 2 entrees. We started with chips & salsa. The tortilla chips are good but the sweet potato chips are even better. I like the smoky salsa but the both are good and spicy. Next, we had the guacamole. It's really good but we miss the tableside guac. Please bring it back. Since it was TACO TUESDAY, we asked if we could take out entrees to go and enjoy a couple of tacos to eat here. No problemo. So, I had the grilled chicken with a soft tortilla and a ground beef with a hard shell. Both were delicious. We shared the Tres Flan dessert. Three separate helpings with different flavors and toppings and a good helping of berries. A great way to end the meal. I've been to their Happy Hour eons ago but never had a chance to try brunch since I don't like getting up early on my days off. I was invited here and thought that this would be the best chance to try it. We had a reservation since we didn't know how busy it can get. Reservation isn't needed if you show up early 10/11. You probably need it if you have a big group and arriving at lunch time. With their brunch buffet, you get 3 mimosas included with the the price. I've tried everything I can handle and wasn't disappointed with everything I had. Definitely a must try brunch buffet. read more

For many years our family went to Blue Mesa. One of our daughters had her rehearsal dinner there. But tonight was not up to standards for our family. My daughter and I both asked for corn tortillas and were given flour tortillas. My daughter ate hers thinking we asked for the corn tortillas. Well, she and I can not eat gluten; what we ordered was labeled as gluten free. But, the whole thing broke down when a different person delivered our meals. My daughter was given flour tortillas, her husband got the corn tortillas. They do not have a good system for getting the right food to the correct person. My daughter had to leave the restaurant and will be sick for hours. This is really unacceptable. Is the staff not taught that giving the person food they should not eat can cause terrible effects??? I talked to the waiter and he said he had no idea people get sick when they are given the wrong food. Train the staff please. I asked if the manager knew this happened and he never actually answered me. The manager should have been brought over as soon as we told them of the problem. So, only one star. Actually that is for our good memories. We will not be returning ever. If you have any food sensitives, skip this place!! They did a terrible job of helping us!! read more

I love Blue Mesa!! Their sweet potato chips and sweet corncakes are so unique and delicious! I always get their pick two tacos platter and extra corncakes. We had a wonderful meal here--the service was prompt and excellent. Will definitely be returning! read more

We dined here on Thanksgiving and partook in their legendary buffet. Okay- as always, the food was PHENOMENAL! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I'm' a huge fan of Blue Mesa's flavorful, elevated cuisine and their fun eclectic decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had made reservations about 3 weeks in advance for a party of 8. Upon arriving, there was a long line to check in. Being one of the busiest dining days of the year, it's understandable that there would be a wait. The hosts were working hard to get people seated. The wait was worth it. The food was AMAZING and there was something for everyone in our party. They had a number of buffet lines including: breakfast foods, a taco bar, traditional Thanksgiving fare, Blue Mesa classics and dessert. I had at least 10 things on my plate I could rave about. As always, the blue corn enchiladas and ginger lime rice are fantastic, but even things as simple as the oatmeal and corn chowder were outstanding! Everyone in my party loved the food, and the long wait was a distant memory that made it all worth it in the end. I'll always be a huge Blue Mesa fan and look forward to many more visits! read more

I visited here with my cousins while I was visiting Texas. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We came early evening on a Saturday and inside was pretty empty with the exception of a few folks sitting at the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was cool. This menu was difficult for me as finding something to order was challenging. I ended up playing it safe and ordering a salmon dish with broccolini and lime rice. Sadly, this dish did disappoint. It was very bland. The most exciting thing on my plate which looked like mash potatoes turned out to be a cornbread mash concoction. We also ordered the queso to accompany our chips which was pretty good. Everything else I tried from my cousins' plates just weren't tasty. read more

I have loved this place for over 20 years. You should try the samplers and appetizers especially. I usually make the appetizer Texas Toothpicks my whole meal. Full size skewers of chicken, steak, and sausage served with the best white queso and specialty house made Southwest style panna bread. Always on every table are two salsas and chips that include seasoned sweet potato chips that are just worth the trip by themselves with the fire roasted salsa. Service is above and beyond. read more

I really enjoyed their food. So tasty and flavorful. The rice seemed it was charred so my kids didn't like it so much, but the chicken/ beef tacos were delicious. I also enjoyed the queso and the chips a lot and their sweet corn cake. Since we were there for a party, the food was buffet style. Although, there was only one person attending to 30 ppl for drinks. Ended sharing carne asada. Fantastic! The best, hands-down carne asada in several years! Great marinade on meat. And the meat was very tender. Asked for a few tortillas. Oddly they brought them on a plate-cold and not covered. And BTW they don't give you the usual chips and salsa at the beginning. They give you salsa and an odd mix of chips and plantains. Since we live in Plano close to 75, this location is kind of further than my parents want to drive so we typically only come here on Thanksgiving because the buffet they have set up is absolutely amazing every year. We are not from Texas, and when I knew we would be traveling in the area during Mother's Day, I started looking for recommendations for a Sunday Brunch. A friend of my suggested Blue Mesa Grill, and I am sure glad they did. We visited the Addison, Texas location on Monther's Day 2024. I had reservations for our family of 6. I was able to book my reservations several weeks ahead of time. When we arrived, it was raining, so the outside patio was closed. This created a problem for the staff as they loss a good portion of their seating. However, the manager was at the front desk checking in people for their reservations and he was very nice. It was a stressful situation, but he smiled and made the best of it. Majority of the people coming in had reservations and those that were walking in were being quoted 2 to 3 hours....point of the story...make a reservation! We had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated, which was understandable given the weather. What was nice is they had a table of chips near the door for you to enjoy while you waited. Once we were seated our serve took our drink order and explained the buffet pricing. On this special event day, it was $40 per person. Children $15 each. The restaurant is not a normal buffet, so the brunch set up was set up throughout the dining area. There was an omelet station at the bar area. And then in the kitchen area there was a traditional breakfast and tex-mex items. There was a build-your-own taco station and of course desserts. The food line was a little hard to get around. There were servers trying to weed in and out of the guest on the food line. It was a little bit of chaos if I am being totally honest. The cooks did their best to keep food coming and full. The only thing I saw completely run out was the waffles. And the lady making them was doing the best she could to keep up. Overall this was a great place. The food was really good. It's a buffet so don't expect top quality. But everything was hot and tasted great. I would definitely come back again if I was ever in the area. There are 3 other locations in Dallas area. The Addison location had tons of parking and was easy to get to. Only about 20 minutes north of Dallas. read more

Well, been a long time customer and during COVID this location was a life saver for great food for the family; however, something has happened. We ordered food to be delivered about two months ago on a Sunday afternoon, big order, tipped. Food came on time, but HALF of the order was missing. Called them up, the manager said, sorry we sent everything, driver must not have delivered everything (all of the cold stuff like salsa, chips, guac, etc. We close at 5:00 so no one here to deliver it. I will credit your account of the missing stuff. Did he, no. OK well chalk this up to never trust a freaking third party delivery services, not their fault, right? Fast forward to yesterday. I am smarter, right? Had my daughter pick up the food for me this time, ordered big meal again for 5 people, tipped. Sent her a copy of the order so she could check to make sure everything is there. She picks it ups, checks it, they are missing the guac, no problem, they add it. Check the order when she gets home, NO TORTILLAs!!!! Hard to have fajitas without tortillas. We have some older ones in the fridge, so made due without fresh. Again food OK, but NEVER AGAIN. There are plenty of Mexican food places that I can count on for take out, happy to spend my $150 someplace else. RIP Blue Mesa. This is the last time you will ruin a family dinner. read more

This is my first time at this Blue Mesa location as well as my first time going for Christmas special buffet (which we didn't realize until we were there, but was totally fine and I was excited to try). We were seated immediately on a Sunday around 10:45am. One thing was we were told when we were seated there was a 2hr limit - I'm not sure if I've ever been told this before or if it was a Christmas special thing. Regardless we were there a little over 2 hours and were never told we only had so much time left or pressured to leave at the 2 hour mark or anything. It was $40/person, and I was grateful our friends were treating us because my husband can be weird about eating out and definitely did not eat $40 worth. I probably didn't either, but I tried to get at least a little taste of everything that interested me. The salmon was much better this time than my last time at the FW location, and the tenderloin and ham were very good too. The pozole was excellent, I love pozole in the winter so much. Definitely enjoy the included mimosas as well, because of the season I got most of mine as cranberry mimosas. $40/person is pretty pricey but consider the "luxury" options it makes sense. Just don't bring a spouse who struggles to eat at restaurants hahaha. It was definitely great to try this option and I would go back for it again at some point in the future! Right now Blue Mesa weekend brunch is usually just a once or twice a year thing at most for us anyway. But we had great service and enjoyed our visit! read more

BRUNCH! I've been here before but never for brunch. It was fantastic! For under $30 you get the all-you-can-eat buffet that has high quality items and a huge selection. True breakfast items including omelettes and eggs benedict with Mexican items too. They also have a carving station with salmon, chicken and beef. Sides are abundant, from non-Mex things like mac and cheese and broccoli rice casserole to TexMex items like chicken enchilada casserole, enchiladas, corn pudding. It includes a salsa bar with guac and their awesome spinach artichoke dip. Fresh fruit, salads and other items are also available. The juice bar has a half dozen options, and the dessert bar also had a great selection (churros and bread pudding were excellent). All this comes with 3 mimosas or just glasses of sparkling to add your own juice into. The only minor odd thing is the bubbles came with ice in them. Overall I would definitely come back for this. Everything I had was excellent. They had plenty of every item as well. It was fresh and very tasty. My only complaint is how stuffed I was and how much I hated myself for overeating. The food is fusion Mexican-New Mexican, and an excellent result. From the chips to the main dish, it was great. I had the cream chicken (hatch pepper) enchiladas- nicely done! My Fiancee and I were trying Blue Mesa for the first time today as a possible Catering option for our wedding. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon at about 3:55pm. We waited exactly 19 minutes, no one checked on us. No drink, no starters, no contact with ANY employees since being seated 19 minutes prior. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. It is very apparent this location lacks supervision and hard working employees.
