We had a celebratory dinner at The Loft Steakhouse recently, and we loved it! The restaurant is actually much bigger than I expected. We were seated in The Library, the room at the back characterized by hundreds of wine bottles filling all walls. While all steakhouses give out "old men" vibes to me, The Loft had a pretty divers clientele that evening: young couples, old couples, couples on a date, families. For our dinner we started with the beef carpaccio, which is served with baby arugula, pickled beech mushroom, truffle vinaigrette, horseradish aioli. Tor our main course we shared the black angus rib eye (which was served sliced as per our request) with a side of spinach. The rib eye was perfectly cooked medium-rare, juicy, melt-in-your-mouth soft. We loved it, and at 26 oz it was certainly enough for 2. Wines by the glass are surprisingly affordable considering the overall high-end dining experience. The dessert menu is quite extensive, and there were several desserts we wanted to try. in the end, we got the peanut caramel brownie special with salted caramel, chocolate ganache, crunchy coating, and the cheesecake with cream topping and blueberry gel. They were both delicious and rich, and honestly one dessert would have been enough for the 2 of us. Furthermore, we were treated to a Le Donut complimentary dessert: Cinnamon sugar donuts, with cappuccino cream and vanilla spuma, this dessert is fantastic when eaten hot. Service was impeccable: attentive without being intrusive, the owner actually came to our table to greet us, and at the end of the dinner he brought over the complimentary Le Donut dessert. We had a retirement dinner for me and as I am an Orthodox Jew we needed some place that was strictly kosher. Almost all of the rest of the guests we're not even Jewish and they were people who are used to going to expensive fancy restaurants to eat. The loft was recommended by my friends who are businessmen and it was superb. They had a small party room we had about 20 people. The outside is very deceiving as once you walk in you have the ambiance of an upscale Manhattan restaurant without having to travel to Manhattan and if you came at 7:00 as we did there was plenty of Street parking. The waiters were attentive but not pushing, the selection was more than adequate people took different items and everyone was more than happy. Where do I start with this spot? What an incredible experience that was accompanied with amazing food. I heard about this restaurant when browsing through Brooklyn's finest steakhouses and was able to secure a reservation for 6:00 pm. When I first stepped into the restaurant, I already knew I was in for a treat. Service: 5/5 - We were immediately welcomed in and seated upstairs in "the loft" (how fitting), where the service was impeccable. The waiter was extremely friendly and was welcome to answer any questions we had regarding any menu items. We were able to order our food timely and received it in about 20-30 minutes. Tipping in the restaurant is automatically included in the bill. Food: 5/5 - For our appetizers, we went with the Veal Gnocchi and limited time Veal Sweetbreads. - Veal Gnocchi: 5/5 - The dough was so flavorful and was accompanied with amazing meat. Was such a wonderful way to start the meal. - Veal Sweetbreads: 5/5 - The gamey organ flavor played hand in hand with the fried batter and buffalo sauce that made my mouth water throughout the whole appetizer. Definitely hoping its still on the menu next time I visit! - Black Angus - Boneless Rib Eye 26oz: 5/5 - The Black Angus Boneless Rib Eye was an explosion flavor when it first touched my tongue. The beefy goodness was hard to explain as each bite was accompanied by a harmonious blend of texture and taste. The marbeling was not shy as it glistened throughout the whole meal and melted in my mouth easily. Not to mention, the au jus that came with the steak was so savory and rich that added a whole other dimension to the steak itself. For the price and portion this can definitely feed 2-3 people. - Pepper Crusted Delmonico Steak: 5/5 - Personally this was my favorite dish of the whole night as the pepper flavor was so apparent throughout each bite. The light spicyness that accompanies the salty meat was so powerful that my mouth was ready for another bite each time. This also came with the au jus that I highly reccomend using for each bite. - Prime Grilled Rib Eye: 5/5 - Juicy. Just juicy. This steak was so juicy that the moment I cut into it the meat juices were pouring everywhere. Each bite was so juicy that it made me think I was drinking some powerful meat juice from Juice Press. Also accompanied with the au jus for extra juice, defintely a steak meant for one person. Full on juice. - Loft Burger: 5/5 - Burger is a tame way to describe this behemoth of a meal. Topped with a pretzel bun this meaty "burger" had many dimensions that I would love to revisit in the future. Each bite felt like I was eating a steak on its own which is extremely special considering how its only a burger. A must get to share around the table! Ambiance: 5/5 - My party and I went here for a celebration and we felt that this steakhouse exudes an enchanting ambiance with its dim, golden-hued lighting. Tables adorned with beautifully arranged plates and gleaming knives create a captivating visual spectacle. Value: 4/5 - Overall I feel that the value I can give this restaurant is a 4/5. Although the food was out of this world, the price tag was a bit tough considering all. Definitely a spot I would go after celebrating things but not a spot for insane value. We started with the house salad, Crispy Beef, and the Beef Carpaccio. Super fresh ingredients throughout and the flavors were outstanding. The appetizers were a great intro to our entrees. The steak here is super tender, buttery, and perfectly crusted and seared. The Bronzino was melt in your mouth delicious as well. All side dishes complemented the plates very well. Our table was speechless because of how amazing everything tasted. Just when we thought the great service and fantastic dishes we'd received couldn't be topped, our lovely server Amanda treated us to some of the BEST desserts we have ever had. If you visit here you MUST try Le Donut and their Hazelnut topped Cheesecake. This made the night 100% better. The sweets tasted extremely fresh and made to order and we loved that. The Loft Steakhouse was a big disappointment. I wandered in late one evening and was seated in the very attractive dining room. The crowd is a mixture of Hip Hop and Hasid's. They have a large menu and numerous wines by the glass. The Moshava Cabernet was tasty and a bargain at $12. My appetizer of beef poppers wasn't very tasty and the sauce was too sweet. I ordered a rib eye steak and it was tough and full of fat. I guess that when you have a captive audience you can serve a mediocre product and charge a whole lot of money for it. Service can be good at times and forgetful at others. Tonight was a good service night In the past I've tried the sushi and sea bass. Nicely presented but lacking in freshness and flavor. Meats are their strong point Tried the Loft Chicken during this most recent visit. It was dark meat chicken and well seasoned but very fatty. The sides (mashed potatoes, carrots, broccoli) were good. The ambiance was very homey and comfortable, and the waiters were extremely quick and professional. The appetizers and mains arrived extremely quickly. Probably faster than most other restaurants I've eaten at. Everything was great. Loved the chicken lollipops, the lamb riblets, sushi, and the out of left field Japanese dumplings with pineapple. So what more can a foodaholic say about a restaurant and its food that the 20+ others who were with her one fun evening, haven't already said?! Well....PLENTY! (Mostly because I like to be heard....but I digress ;)) The Loft...I have to say, minus 1 or 2 dishes that we won't speak of, more than exceeded my expectations. Each dish, be it app or entree, was beautifully plated and presented. The flavors and amount of seasoning, and quality of ingredients were spot on. Portion size vs. price was very generous and fair. Highlights for me: The chicken liver: was not overpoweringly gamey or clawing in flavor. The dish had a lovely balance of a bit of sweet and savory to cut the richness of the liver and an added bit of crunch from the thinly sliced and toasted, what I think was, baguette. The toast had soaked up the sauce the liver was sautéed in so each bite was perfect. The veal sweetbreads: they presented it on 2 plates...one sautéed and one lightly battered and fried. Hands down the sautéed was the clear winner. Sweetbreads are delicate both in texture and flavor. Over work them in process or over season them and they lose the integral point of what sweetbreads are meant to be. The fried version...the breading made them too tough and frying them made them too dense, for a second I thought we were eating chicken nuggets. The Sautéed version was so well executed. Presented as little pillows stacked on top of eachother with a light brothy sauce just complimenting it. Gnocchi: so I was too late to try the actual gnocchi part lol but the accompanying mushrooms and duck pieces in the sauce were delicious, again not overly gamey but you knew that it was duck you were eating. Beef Carpaccio: meaty and so rice paper like thinly sliced, you forget that your consuming raw cow :) absolutely delicious. Ribs: looked like dinosaur bones with a hunk on meat attached to them, caveman style. The rib meat was fall off the bone amazing. Tender in texture but full of flavor. Chicken soup: tons of not just veggies but actual good size portions of chicken in the soup! The broth was absolutely delicious, not bland, not salty, and both light and hearty at the same time. Hanger Steak: my entree of choice since not many places carry this cut anymore. A tad bit saltier than I like but grilled to exactly how I asked. Swapped out spinach for mushrooms which I felt were a better match. The accompany Cajun fries had a nice bite to them but not as spicy as our server said they would be. Service was very attentive, courteous and accommodating. The Loft is definitely a must go repeatedly kind of place. read more

The loft steakhouse is a great experience I went with a very big group a few weeks ago I believe 20 people and they where very nice and helpful. The waiter listened to everyone and took there orders perfectly even though 5 people keeper on talking at once. The wait for the food wasn't to long and the brought us bread and drinks whenever we asked. I'm not such a steak guy but everyone said there steaks where amazing I got the loft burger it was very tasty and flavorful and came with anything I wanted on the side and French fries. The Loft Steakhouse has a factor that I have yet to see at another kosher establishment. Their service is 100% second to none. Seriously, I've watched him single handed create absolute magic. When people take pride in the work they do, you know the experience is going to be phenomenal. Andres Maître D' is exceptional, really. He is so pleasant to talk to. Always, always has a smile on his face, nothing ever phases him. You know they're doing a fine job, when the restaurant is literally packed to the brim every single night. If there is ever a slight problem, IT WILL BE cleared within a matter of seconds. I always have this issue with some kosher restaurants, where the wait staff take no pride in their job, and know nothing about the menu. This does NOT happen at The Loft. I have had waiters recommend food to me and couldn't have been more satisfied. Let's go to the food. The Chef! Chef Boris Poleschuck --- A chef that will never ever ever send out a plate gone wrong. Ever! I've probably tasted most of the menu, so I will post pictures and describe the dishes. Every main dish has so much power - Every app has a world of flavors. Woohoo! As good as it gets! is right. The Loft Steakhouse has really blown me away once again with the most amazing dishes and service out there. We where a party of 12 and where taken care of like royalty, the waiters where constantly refiling our water and kept the flow of drinks coming (Pina Colada, Rum punch etc.) and yet gave us the space of privacy without having the feeling of them hovering over us. We tried a huge variety of dishes including the BBQ spare ribs from the special thanksgiving menu and I never had this at any other place but each and every dish was pure perfection!!! from the Duck Gnocchi to the Beef sliders to the Braised Beef to the Black Angus 24oz. Rib eye stake and so on, everything was perfection, and I couldn't believe that there was not one dish that was subpar! (Which is a common thing to happen even at the best restaurant, when you try almost all of their menu) And so I will state (with a strong British accent) that the Loft Steakhouse is one of the best here in Brooklyn and is definitely worthy of trying, and oh yes..... I truly wanted to like this place. Invited my friend, who is not familiar with kashrut, to have a really nice, memorable new experience. Asked for a steak medium-rare and got it nearly, if not completely, well-done. It was dry and tough. My friend said his was similar. Spent a birthday dinner here after hearing so many raving reviews and needless to say we were not disappointed! Our waiter was attentive and familiar with the menu and helped us decide what to order. We shared the duck gnocchi appetizer. It was delicious and the gnocchi was the perfect soft texture! I ordered the brisket which cut like butter and melted in my mouth. It came with green beans and carrots on the side with a hefty serving of cajun fries (I would ask if they could sub plain fries next time for personal taste). I would describe the sauce as a spiced BBQ sauce... hard to explain. But my husband kept dipping his fries into my sauce. It was that good. I also ordered the rum punch which blew my mind. Perfect mix of a tropical tasting punch and rum. Hint of some pineapple in there and the punch was not overpoweringly sweet. My husband ordered the hanger steak which was served over a bed of cooked spinach and a side of cajun fries, and he loved it as well! It was a thinner steak, but it was cooked so that it was so soft and the flavor had a grilled BBQ taste. Was incredible. He also got the house wine (Herzog) which paired very well with it. For dessert we ordered the key lime pie which I had heard from others and the waiter himself is compared to a light cheesecake with a hint of lime. It was delicious! Came here for an early Mother's Day dinner based on the Yelp reviews and # of overall stars given. I wanted to stay in Brooklyn too so why not give this place a try. Our orders were filet mignon, grilled prime rib and two orders of the hanger steak entrees. Hanger steak was ok, the filet mignon was too salty and the kale/ carrot mix on the side wasn't throughly washed. Just one scoop of the kale and you can expect a mouth full of sand. My company recently had an event here and everything was spectacular- the food, staff/service and ambiance. We rented the entire venue and brought in our own entertainment. The staff was super friendly and quick to accommodate requests. You can tell that they genuinely care about customer satisfaction and how your event goes. The food was incredible- from the yummy appetizers, sushi bar, etc. The main course consisted of steak, salmon or a vegetarian option. The steak and salmon were cooked wonderfully and the fries on the side were delicious (and all hot, which is impressive for the amount of people that we had and everyone being served at the same time). Despite this being a meat restaurant, the desserts were fantastic! S'mores pie, napoleon, creme brûlée, fruit and others to choose from! Everything was just very fresh, clean, contemporary and very well presented. The drinks were very very good and presented nicely, as well. Came here with a group of seven for a company team dinner. Reservations were made ahead of time and we were instantly seated without any delays. The place itself inside is appealing in appearance and cleanliness - two floors, a little glass waterfall in the back, nice clean tables and overall very neat. The service was phenomenal. There were always people around availabe to help, not just the main waiter. We never had to wait for anything or ask twice. Anytime we needed more water, it was there very quickly. Someone at the table didn't like the flavor of a drink they ordered, it was quickly changed for another. All questions were answered quickly and in detail. Plates were changed over the course of the evening, anything asked to be taken to go was promptly packed, and the overall attention was on point. Very friendly and pleasant staff. We did not have any alcoholic beverages due to the type of meeting it was but the place did have a bar and a wine menu. As for the "meat and potatoes" of the evening, and the reason for visiting, which, of course, is the food - we started with a few appetizers to share for the table. Sliders, chicken lolly pops, sauteed chicken livers, sauteed mushrooms, and spring rolls were all good. Somewhat different flavors than you're used to but definitely tasty. Everyone at the table enjoyed it. The portions for the appetizers were fair. The portions for the main entrees were big. All dishes served were very presentable. People ordered different dishes but everyone was happy and satisfied. The aged steak specifically was very good. For me personally, I had the medium rare filet mignon - which is what i usually get anywhere I go. That was the only part that was slightly disappointing. Not because it was bad, it wasn't. But spoiled me is a big fan of the filet and it is tough to impress me. At about 13 oz the size was very fair. But you can tell that the filet specifically is not the chef's specialty. Would not compare it to, say, Wolfgangs in the city, but that is a non kosher and different type of place. To compare apples to apples and to another NY kosher steakhouse, I thought it was definitely better than La Mareis. But again, this is just me and my filet, all other steaks were very much on point. The sides of mashed potatoes, string beans, mushrooms and spinach it came with were good and it made for a good and filling dinner. Prices are fair and nothing out of the ordinary for such a place. For desert we shared some fresh seasoned fruits and I got a coffee and their sorbet. The fruit platter consisted of some pineapples, grapes, and water melon. Fruits were fresh and came with a side of whip cream. Coffee was very good. For the sorbet you get to choose three different flavors. The green apple I didnt care much for but the pom cherry and mango were both very delicious. Overall, very deserving of the five stars and certainly a place to recommend and revisit.
