Thought it was appropriate to add my full text interaction with Lock Lady given that her re-telling of our interaction included words describing me as 'hostile, agitated, aggressive, abusive, etc'. Also note in the text interaction I make specific reference to her speaking loudly and talking over me, which was not negated by her. Probably because it is exactly what transpired. So.. have kissed the $230+ I paid her good bye and am going to stop updating this review as I choose to put energy into positive experiences and people. I needed the locks re-keyed on a new house. She was on time and wore a mask the whole time. She was nice, except for the disparaging comments she made about a someone who left a bad review a while back. Honestly, that's why it's taken me so long to write a review. After reading many reviews my wife and I chose The Lock Lady. Laura was on time and personable and professional. We showed her around, locks on two of our three doors and both of our security doors were very difficult to open. Also our front door had been replaced and was poorly installed. Laura inspected everything and and then explained to us several options. She has a beautiful Van that had everything she needed in it. We ended up replacing two locks one door handle. She also repaired two locks, installed better more secure striker plates with much longer screws and put longer and stronger screws in the hinges. And re-keyed all three doors plus the two security doors. This is a lot of work. It took awhile to do but she did it all on the day that she came out to give us our estimate. I had done some research beforehand. And for the amount of work we had done my wife and were pleased with the price. As the price was on the lower end of what we had expected pay. I did not say it was cheap. Laura is a professional and we felt very comfortable with her and her and her hard work. We were not looking for cheap. We were looking for someone who really knows what they are doing. Someone who reliable and will show up when they say they will or cares enough to call if they are going to be late. We got what we were looking for when we called The Lock Lady. And we have no problem recommending her to others. read more

What an unpleasant experience it was being cheated by this awful woman. She obviously preys on senior women and charged $430 to key four locks. This included $15 because I charged on a credit card. I felt intimidated and vulnerable by her. What a terrible experience. read more

My neighbor locked her self out of her house and was out of town for several days. I am the neighbor trying to help her out. She had talked to "Lock Lady" about this situation, the Lock Lady wanted a picture of the lock so I told her I will call her and explain I do not have a smart phone so I cannot send a picture that way but that I could take a picture with my camera and email it. The lock lady texted me and says "please text a photo of front door to this number. Well, I called her back and said I cannot do that I do not have a smart phone, That was in my message. She said ok and started to give me her e mail but then said never mind I will just give her a quote anyway! I tried to tell her I could get the picture and e mail it but she got real snippy and said no, never mind. She was SO rude! For owning a business she should not treat people like that. I had the lock lady come out to open my workshop after I couldn't get the key to turn. Funny thing is, my equipment was in the shop or I would have done it. Lol She tried and explained everything before removing the lock. While she was there she gave me tips about making things safer and how to possibly prevent it from happening again. I had her cut new keys for the house from the master at her suggestion and they work a ton smoother than the Home Depot cut keys. Much nicer looking cuts than HD also. She's awesome, knowledgeable and very friendly. If we need a locksmith again, she'll be my first call. read more

I had some workers in and out of my home all day. When the day was done I found a set of my keys were missing. Ugh... I knew I had them last, but you know that little devil on your shoulder that says "someone just might have taken them, maybe not even on purpose, but you never know"? Cluster Mail Box Lock: Laura is fast, efficient and cares about your lock safety. We had Laura--AKA The Lock Lady--to our house today to install a new lock due to the old one not working properly anymore. She was wonderful--super friendly, professional and very knowledgable in her field. As we feared, the problem was not so much our lock, but the disintegration of the door frame. However, she did NOT encourage us to immediately look into replacing the frame or the door, but aimed to fix the problem with some clever metal pieces. It would have been to her advantage to push us in the direction of having her redo the frame, but she didn't and we are really grateful. We especially liked that she explained the problem after determining what it was, then gave us the option of how best to fix it and how much money would be involved. I called this company to get a key made for one of our properties. I work for an REO company that works with banks to rehab foreclosed properties. I explained that we needed a key made to a specific key code in order to access the property. My request was totally legal and within the authority given to me by my client. The Lock Lady rudely refused to assist me and even called my request "shady." I don't usually write reviews, but felt it necessary due to her rude behavior. In response to your comment below: I understand if that is your policy, but calling someone "shady" when they are requesting a service that is legal and authorized by the bank who owns the property is not professional. read more
