United Lock and Key is the very best. We had a situation with a loved one being in the hospital and a pet possibly being locked up in distress. United Lock and Key went out right away and made sure everything was alright and he did not charge for this. United Lock and Key are lifesaver!!!!! I am in Alabama but know folks in Mesa/Apache Junction and i am spreading the word on how helpful United was today. Highly recommended. I give them ten out of five stars!!!! read more

I had a lock issue. Received excellent advise for FREE. Great service. Use this company

Well it's Friday and I stepped out to throw out my garbage. As I closed my front door I just realized I left my keys on the counter. Doh! I just moved here so I did not set up a place or a person to have my spare key. I called a local locksmith but they were closed due to Nevada Days. I called United Lock and Key and spoke with Rob. I told him I was locked out and I live in Incline Village. He said no problem he can be there in 20-25 minutes. He arrived as stated and unlocked my door even though the previous owner put the door lock in upside down. He even gave me advice on installing new weatherstripping on the front door because he noticed it was worn down. I highly recommend United Lock and Key because of the quick and friendly service. Thanks Rob! read more

Rob was great. We sent a text late at night for an issue and he immediately responded. He was there first thing in the morning and quickly got our lock situation taken care of. Fast, courteous and reliable. I highly recommend Rob and United lock and key. read more

Just like everyone else who has to call a locksmith: "Damn! How dumb was that?!" Frustration mounts because, well, in most cases you blew it by doing something stupid. Needed to get a MTB off a locked roof rack and had forgotten the key. United answered on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend and was here to help in 30 minutes. Job accomplished with great service. NOTE: If you are reading this review and have a locked ski rack or roof box, try United versus trying to find a master key. read more

I had a great experience with Rob. I locked myself out of my condo on a Saturday morning. I googled a couple locksmiths and they weren't available. When I called Rob, he left me know he'd be there as soon as he could. He was finishing a job on the other side of the lake, but would get to me ASAP. He texted me updates as he was en route. Ironically, only minutes before he arrived, I managed to get myself in. I called him and we had a good laugh over the phone. He didn't make me feel bad that he was on his way, he was happy I found a way inside. I offered to pay him something for his drive and he declined. That's old school service! read more

Great guy! Robert was at our house within an hour on Labor Day weekend. He was able to fix our troublesome deadbolt. We will definitely use him again! read more

We had some outdoor storage locks that were quite old, but had always worked, and now we couldn't get them open. Called Robert and he came over within the hour, opened one lock, but we decided that the other 2 had to be cut off, which he did. Since we had 4 other storage locks, and needed to have one 'matched' set, he was very helpful in guiding us at the local hardware store to get two sets of 4 master lock padlocks with one key for each set of 4. This was a fine solution, and quite reasonably priced. We also had a sticky deadbolt lock on one of the house doors, and Robert was able to re-install it so it worked properly, all within the minimum charge for a house visit. Delighted to work with him, and he'll be the one we call if we ever had another lock problem. read more

We brought the wrong key up to Tahoe for the weekend and found ourselves locked out on a Friday evening. Thank god for Rob! He got here fast and unlocked all the doors in no time! read more

Rob was so great. He called me back within a couple of minutes. we had some issues with a person who helps out at our vacation rental/second home this person still had a key to our home and we were not in the area to change the lock. He went to our place, rekeyed the lock and even made extra copies as requested so that the renters coming that wknd would have enough keys. he left another key with our trusted neighbor. We will be hiring him again in the spring/early summer to change our lock and paint our door a more fun color. We will probably also use his and his wife's cleaning services that they also offer. read more

Excellent work. Timely and friendly. I had a locked closet that needed to be opened up and Robert came last minute to help me out. I would definitely recommend! Thank you! read more

"FUUUUUUUuuuuuuuuuuuu......... I'm such. an. idiot". This was me, verbatim, in the Safeway parking lot one particularly brisk afternoon. Grocery bags in hand and a chill in my bones, I stood staring at the keychain dangling from the ignition of my car with the helpless affect of a toddler below the cookie jar. Locked out. Thank god for smart phones. And thank god I'm at least reliable enough to keep it charged (it's the small victories). Google led me to Aero United. One phone call and ten minutes later and we were standing beside the driver side, window wedged open and some extendable door-opening contraption wiggling its way to the unlock button. Third try was a charm. And If I wasn't so grateful to've been granted access to the cookie jar (guess this is the new pet name for my car), I'd've been a little more concerned with just how easy it was to break in. Aero was professional and extremely fast. I'd use them again in a heartbeat which I'd like to believe will never happen again but I'm a bit more of a realist. Aero's in my contact list now. And, hey, the service isn't cheap. But I guess we all gotta pay the Idiot Tax at some point. (facepalm) read more

I contacted United Lock and Key and within 5 minutes received a call back from Robert. There was no waiting. Since our job wasn't a very complicated one, we weren't in a big rush, and Robert was in the area, Robert squeezed us in and arrived within 30 minutes as promised. Robert provided professional work, he has great work ethics, and has a wonderful attitude and personality. I highly recommend United Lock and Key. Deserved 10 stars! read more

Faced with a challenging job to re-key eleven old door locks to one key, in an old house, with old doors, and in freezing weather, Robert overcame each obstacle and got the job done! Five stars to United Lock & Key. read more

Rob was great. It was a weekend and on short notice he answered my call within minutes and made himself available at a time that worked with my schedule to change locks on a residence. This kind of service, especially on a weekend, is extraordinary. Rob was on time, and his service was excellent. He didn't rush the job and he made sure that everything was done correctly. He even came back on Sunday to assist with other lock/key needs. He is ethical, takes pride in his work and I will certainly work with Rob again. I highly recommend United Lock and Key. read more

Fantastic service, called him on a Saturday morning to rekey our new rented condo and an outside storage closet. He was here within the hour, worked diligently until he had the storage closet open and a new lock on it. Then proceeded to rekey our door. Very pleasant and professional. Would highly recommend. read more

When I was up on vacation in Tahoe I locked my keys in my car I could not get ahold of anyone and finally someone answered their phone. It was late and he got there quickly. I would recommend his services and will definitely use his services again. read more

My friend and I had just bought $100 worth of groceries on a Sunday afternoon and we were putting them in the trunk about to head home. My friend ended up locking her keys in the truck and we stood around for 45 minutes trying to decide what to do. After trying and failing to get help from her insurance company I decided I would try an ad from the phone book. I gave united lock & key a try and luckily could get some help! He came out of his way on a Sunday while taking his father to the hospital just to help us get into our car! It only took him about 5 minutes to unlock the car and we were on our way! Also charged a very reasonable rate! Thanks for saving the day! read more

I drove into the area on a Saturday mid-afternoon and tried to phone United Lock and Key to see when they could possibly re-key my house. I had trouble making phone contact, so I decided to drive by their address to see if anyone might be around. I saw a gentleman sweeping his porch, so I went up and asked if and when he might be able to come by and re-key my house. Rob said, "Is tomorrow (Sunday) okay?" I was shocked (happily). Rob said he'd be there around 11am. He showed up at 10:30am, which was all the more impressive to me, as I rarely get that kind of promptness from many businesses around here. Not only did he do exactly what I had hoped for, his prices were extremely reasonable and very much worth what I now think was probably a token gratuity I offered him. I could not have been more pleased with how it all went down; and I will surely use (and recommend) Rob at United Lock and Key in the future, should any similar needs come up. read more

Awesome service. Got here asap, hardly took any time, reasonable ... And looked like a super spy to my two kids! Thanks for cleaning up my bonehead mistake of driving from SF with keys that didn't work. Totally recommend. Plus, a painting contractor, snowplow help and cleaning service to boot. AAAAA+ recommendation. read more

Rob is the best! He was able to fix our sliding glass door the same day I called him, and quickly. Very reasonably priced, couldn't ask for anything more. Thanks Rob! read more

Rob was very professional. He responded promptly, showed up on time, went the extra mile to get the job done and charged a fair price. You won't be disappointed! read more

Rob was very helpful in changing an old door lock, and replacing one that wasn't fixable. Rob worked as long as it took to fix the issue, no complaints - great guy to work with. read more

Pulled a "stupid human trick" and arrived in Incline at Friday at midnight, but had misplaced my key. Called Rob at 7:30 AM Saturday morning -- he answered, was very pleasant and was at my front door at 8 AM (very impressive). He then relentlessly spent the time and energy to find replacement parts for the lock we had to drill. All is now well. Rob is a very nice and polite person and I enjoyed conversing with him. I enthusiastically recommend Rob to anyone who needs the help of a locksmith. read more

Do not go here! this guy was not only absurdly rude from the get go but after 2 min of grumbling while trying to pick the lock on my ski rack he threatened to kick my a** for assuming it would be a simple lock for him to pick. After 5 min at his shop(house) I left for fear of my safety. When I said, "sir i'm trying to be a customer of yours, I don't understand why your so angry with me." His response was, "your from Oregon, we're in California, your not my customer, your just a stupid tourist who needs my help." Little did he know the Oregon plates were from the car I have registered there. I had actually just closed on a house less than a mile away and would have been a lifetime customer had he made any effort at all to help. I managed to get great service from another place(lake tahoe lockshop, see review). read more

Dishonest! Make sure you agree on a price and the work to be done BEFORE he starts. Your bill will grow.

My husband and I purchased a home in Tahoe City. I was nervous about the fact that the locks hadn't been changed in 30 years and I was troubled by the fact that this home opened to three separate keys. I called United and the owner came out on a Saturday (!) at my convenience and quickly coordinated the front/back/garage locks efficiently to one key at an excellent price. I highly recommend United Lock and Key and I will use them again, hopefully not because I'm locked out! read more

Lost my ski rack keys, called Rob early on a Saturday morning for assistance and he was more than eager to come out to help unlock the ski rack. Luckily for me, I found the keys a a Safeway lost and found. I called Rob back to cancel and he was still in great spirits about my cancellation. Great attitude and very customer friendly. read more
