The technicians were courteous, but unfortunately they did not appear to know how to properly repair the issue. They spent approximately three hours working on the lock. In the end, they told me they had to loosen the entire door handle assembly to get the lock working temporarily and recommended replacing the entire handle, explaining that it would be very expensive. I was charged $1,227.45 for labor only--no replacement parts were installed. Although I wasn't happy with the price, I was relieved the door could at least lock. Unfortunately, by the very next day, the lock had failed again. I contacted Key One Locksmith and was told they couldn't return until 3:00 p.m. the following day, which wasn't an option for our business. I then called Lee's Lock & Safe in Encinitas. Their technician, Jon, arrived promptly, identified that the previous repair had been done incorrectly, corrected the problem, and had the lock working properly. His total charge was $274.75, which I found to be much more reasonable for the work performed. Afterward, I called Key One Locksmith to discuss my concerns. I was transferred to someone named John, who initially identified himself as a manager. Instead of addressing my concerns professionally, he became argumentative and raised his voice. When I asked to speak with his supervisor, he stated he was actually a technician, questioned how I had obtained his number, made what I felt was an inappropriate comment referencing me as a woman, and then hung up on me. My biggest concerns are: Being charged $1,227.45 for a repair that failed the next day. The quality of the work performed. The unprofessional customer service I received when I attempted to resolve the issue. I want to recognize Lee's Lock & Safe in Encinitas for their professionalism. Jon was knowledgeable, efficient, and resolved the issue correctly the first time. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend them instead of Key One Locksmith!

It's always tough when you are trying to hang a new door on an old frame that may not be perfectly straight anymore. And yes only time will tell if the fit holds. I called in to get a duplicate key and the man I talked to walked me through the process and the pricing, since they didn't have my key fob in their store he searched on the website and found a couple that looked identical but he helped me pick the cheapest one that would do everything I needed it to do, walking through the buttons and features I would need, and made sure to let me know I would get a discount on the programming since I ordered it through their website. The programming and cutting was quick and the key works perfectly now. The woman employee who did the programming and cutting stayed socially distant and was very considerate and helpful. I had several technical questions about getting a key fob programmed for my 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. I engaged with an ACME rep who patiently answered all of my questions. Half what through our emailing back and forth I discovered (and made them aware) that I was not in the same state as any of their businesses. The rep continued to answer my questions and was very helpful. I wish I was in the same state as ACME as ACME was only going to charge me $79 to reprogram my key fob. The cheapest I can find for the same service (near Atlanta GA) is $179. read more

Excellent service! The appointment was easy to make online. It had to be rescheduled and the office staff were very pleasant. The locksmith sent me a notice a half hour before he arrived and arrived within the time range I was given. He completed the work more quickly than his estimate. He told me the problems he had found and how he corrected them. The door lock is working fine now and the cost was less than the estimate. I'd highly recommend Acme Locksmith. Went there and waited while two employees worked in the parking lot on a car. Inside, another employee made small talk on the phone ignoring me, "So, what else is going on?" he said, passing the time with his phone pal. Finally, I went out to ask the parking lot guys if anyone could actually help me. Without looking my way, one guy stuck his finger in the air, as in "Quite, we're busy".
