Half eaten Crabster before I could get the phone out - was that great!
Gary M.

Wanted to try a great lobster role as we weren't thrilled by the attempt at the Portland Head Light... and Karen found a review for The Lobster Haul... oh so thankful. She got the Crabster (half lobster and half crab) - it lasted no time! The crab was sweet and the lobster was awesome. So fresh! I had the Haddock sandwich and clam chowder. Both great but the haddock is freshly delivered and was awesome. Chased with a Belfast Bay, Lobster Ale - it was a great experience. Able to meet the proprietor- Izzy - a wonderful soul. Her passion for fresh and wonderful tasting food was evident in the quality and volume of the servings. A "hidden gem" doesn't adequately describe the experience. A great find just a1/2 block off the beaten path. This is where to go for a great lobster role!

Was looking for a quick eat, and I'm so happy we found this place. The lobster roll was good, perfectly buttered rolls, an average amount of lobster for $26, and it comes with chips. We also tried the blueberry pie, and that was heavenly. $95 for 3 lobster rolls, 2 drinks, and a pie. Pricey when you think about it, but lobster isn't cheap. The lady at the counter was nice and friendly.

Lobster roll was excellent and so was the service

Service was fast and friendly Try the 3 lobster roll sampler which has butter, mayo, or cilantro!

Lobster sliders-mayo, cilantro lime mayo, and butter

Good lobster rolls at a fair price. I had the sliders, the regular warm butter one was the best of the three, the two with mayo tasted plain and needed seasoning. Joe had a regular butter one and was happy. We shared a basket of fries which were like McDonald's except no salt. The wait after ordering at the counter seemed long and it didn't seem that busy. Might try a different place before we leave Maine.

All of the YUM!!! This place. If this place was open tues and wed I would've eaten here 3 days in a row. What a find. Super kind and friendly waitstaff. All of them! Queer o meter a 10 with no hesitation. We got: Lobster dinner - clams, corn, slaw Side fries Grilled cheese sandwich I'll start with the "so so"s the slaw. Yeah that's pretty much it. It wasn't my fav slaw but as always that could be a preference thang. And maybe you can toss in there that the fries could've been a little hotter but they were tasty and a good portion. The grilled cheese, I was informed, was so good. I didn't taste it, I don't like them. But my wife assures me it was yummy. Now for the amazingness! The lobster and steamers were perfectly boiled. Tenders sweet and delish! and the corn was soooo good too. This early in the season, not sure how they pulled that off but I'm glad they did. What a great place. I'd be back in a heartbeat! Thank you for a wonderful time ! Cheers!

Skip the places on the main drag and check out this hidden gem just around the corner. Much less crowded, the food was delicious, and the service was outstanding, especially for a casual lunch spot! Lobster is expensive, everywhere, don't come to Maine without planning to pay for lobster! ;) The warm butter lobster roll here was worth every penny, kids loved their haddock sandwich, haddock tacos, and the fried pickles. I would post a photo of our lunch, except everyone cleaned their plate!!

The minute we walked in to this coastal cozy hidden gem, just a few steps away from the main drag, we were warmly welcomed by two super friendly employees. We checked out the extensive menu that had several choices for lobster rolls. We ended up ordering a jumbo traditional lobster roll with butter, and a cup of lobster stew. They split the stew into two cups for us which was nice! The lobster roll was by far the best lobster we had on our trip to Maine. The lobster was fresh, tender, and loaded into a toasty bun and drizzled in delicious butter. The stew was full of lobster and perfectly creamy and brothy. We enjoyed our food inside, which had plenty of seating, on a rainy, chilly fall afternoon. There was outside seating available as well. Highly recommend this spot as an alternative to some of the more popular, frequented lobster stops along the way between Portland and Acadia.

Had 9 lobster rolls on our trip to Maine. Lobster Haul was the best by far. Great owner guy too says he and his friends catch the lobsters.

My wife and I were on a week long road trip to Maine and we stopped at The Lobster Haul and out of the 9 lobster rolls I had on the trip, this was by far the best. The lobster was so fresh and flavorful. Oh..To die for! I got a can of IPA and we took my roll out to the back picnic tables and savored every bite. The owner actually came out to talk with us and he was super cool and he said he and his friends get fresh lobsters every day. The lobster is overflowing from the reasonably priced lobster roll. It really is the best I have ever had. Must try. Perfect stop for lunch on a Maine road trip.

We were looking for a no frills lobster roll place that wasn't super crowded. So we stopped by this place e around 2pm. We've heard of Red's lobster rolls which are really popular but we didn't want to wait on a long line. The Lobster Haul is a small lobster roll place that has fried fish, clams, steamed whole lobster and crab too. I really wanted to try the crab & lobster roll with 1/2 crab and 1/2 lobster but they were out of it. So instead we went with the cilantro-lime lobster roll, a basket of fries, and a can of beer. Came to around $38 at the time we visited August 11th. The food was ready in about 10 mins, the lobster roll tasted really fresh and really flavorful. The fries were fresh and piping hot. The Rising Tide Spinnaker beer had a light refreshing flavor. Would definatly come again. This place was really laid back, casual and delicious!!! 10/10 would recommend.

Delicious lobstah roll. Super tender lobster.

Bottom Line: Super friendly staff and tender lobster rolls. My husband and I were hangry from a longer than anticipated road trip and not being willing to settle for anything less than a stellar lobster roll we stopped at The Lobster Haul for a late lunch. We were so thankful that they were still open approaching 3pm. The staff was very welcoming and conversational. We ordered two cold lobster rolls with lightly dressed and very tender lobster. The rolls were delicious and reasonably priced for the high quality. The interior of the restaurant is quaint with some neat historic photos of the area. Since the weather was good we sat outside and enjoyed the quietness of the Damariscotta side street and we appreciated all of the planters with freshly planted annuals. We parked a block or so away but they do have parking on site which is convenient.

Top to bottom: hot buttered, lime cilantro, cold mayo sliders

I really enjoyed coming to the Lobster Haul. The service is very friendly, the food came out fast, the environment is cozy with 60s pop music. It's a little up the street from the main street, so even though it was a weekend afternoon, it was not crowded. We had slider combos. The regular slider selection has hot buttered, cold mayo, and the lime cilantro. The hot butter was delicious and highlighted the pure sweet lobster, while the lime cilantro was surprisingly fresh itself. The cold mayo was not over dressed so you still were able to experience the lobster. We also got lemon dill, Crabster (1/2 crab, 1/2 lobster), and BLT rolls as sliders. While the crabster was also amazing, with the crab and lobster complimenting each other while both stood on their own, we felt the dill and bacon rode front and center on their respective rolls. Ranking would go 1. Hot 2. Crabster 3. Lime cilantro 4. Cold mayo 5. Lemon dill 6. BLT. Overall, I highly recommend visiting and supporting this establishment.

Front is the lobster sliders and in back, the jumbo lobster mayonnaise roll. The latter had a good pound of lobster!

We are here several times during pumpkin fest weekend and everything was fantastic. Crab rolls, lobster rolls, options for the kids.

Was very hopeful but poor service, and a rip off. Hardly any lobster in the "lobster" taco.

This is what Maine is all about. Pitch perfect coastal seafood on a random side street in a quaint town. You just can't beat it.

However, the pharmacy manager is about at useless as an individual can get. I worked in retail for over 30 years, and I never let anyone talk to my staff in that manner. As any good manager would do, I stepped in and either deescalated the situation or had the individual removed. The current manager stays behind his glass enclosure and leaves his employees to fend for themselves. Fortunately, I have found a pharmacy where you don't have to wait 5 plus days for a prescription, and the pharmacist is present and not hiding. Hannaford's has not only lost my business at the pharmacy, I don't even shop at the store any longer. You may believe that this is an isolated incident, but nothing could be further from the truth. I was introduced to my new pharmacy by another unsatisfied Hannaford's customer, and I have told at least 10 others who have now left your inferior pharmacy. As for the other pharmacist on staff the female pharmacist is extremely pleasant and apologetic for delays. However, the other male was so rude to an older woman it was disgusting. Not only did he violate her HIPPA rights, as he clearly stated the medications she was taking. He was also extremely nasty to her, asking her what would you like me to do, all these people are waiting as well. ATTENTION All CUSTOMERS: Find another pharmacy, Amazon is great and their prices are far superior.
