Crab roll at Scott's Place in Camden, ME.
    Tom D.

Had lunch at Scott's Place after walking around downtown Camden. Wife ordered a Lobster roll and a cup of clam chowder. I went with a Crab roll, and we shared some fries. Meals came out after a short wait, we planned to eat on a nearby picnic table. Had to go back and ask for ketchup and utensils. Lobster roll was alright, a bit small in size though. Crab tasted too salty for my liking. Clam chowder lacked flavor and was lukewarm, at best. For $53 and change, we were underwhelmed. Not sure how this place gets all these good reviews, that simply wasn't our experience this afternoon. Seems more like a place where locals come to eat burgers and sandwiches, and they have sub-par lobster & crab rolls for the tourists. Sorry Scott, that's disappointing.

We stopped by for the first time for lunch recently and noticed a sign indicating it was celebrating its 51st anniversary. The hot dogs were decent though the roll was merely heated, not grilled to any extent, and the chili sauce, heaven forbid, included beans. We won't be returning.

CASH ONLY!!! Our mistake that we didn't realize this was cash only before showing up here. There was an ATM in the complex however it was out of service. Luckily we had $10 cash on us and were able to get 2 deluxe cheese burgers which had mayo, lettuce, and tomato. The burgers were small, similar to fast food style but the price made it worth it. I didn't realize you have to ask to have ketchup on your burger, so the mayo that was on it from the deluxe option was fine. This little shack is in parking lot with other establishments. They have picnic tables. Service was quick

Interesting little shack, this was our first stop for lobsta rolls. The prices were incredible, and we found out that it's due to the small size of the food. The quality was decent, but I'd compare it to bar food, do not expect a sit down restaurant. They did have picnic tables for anyone hoping to eat there, and the service was quick! Although I wouldn't walk from downtown again, I would stop if I was already passing by.

Highly recommend stopping by Scott's place. We went here on a whim because the place we wanted to go was closed, but glad we did! Prices were so reasonable which was nice for a change. Sandwich's were delicious and had a reasonable amount of meat too!

Delicious lobster roll and only 10.99!!

Have returned twice since then. As the menu is small and hasn't changed since my first visit, the charm has worn off. I usually share the roast half chicken plus 2-3 sides. The meal was absolutely flavorful on my first visit but not so much the last visit in Dec 2025. Maybe it was a bad night? I thought the flavors fell flat and service was not as attentive. I was celebrating the holidays by treating friends to dinner and had to wave down someone twice to order rounds of drinks. I will give any establishment 20 stars if they are paying attention as to whether your glass is half empty. For me, the food can be excellent or blah but excellent service can make or break a restaurant.

(See pics) Hospitality is completely absent. No one made eye contact for a prolonged period of time after we entered. Yes, it is a very small space, but there was one waiter and one bartender. Never received set ups. We rooted around in an exposed cabinet and snagged our own. And they don't carry any sodas whatsoever. So... enjoy the food but pack your patience and perhaps don't look too hard at the walls of the dining room.

My husband and I visited for drinks and spent a few hours at the bar. During the first part of our visit, we had a wonderful time. The atmosphere was friendly, we enjoyed meeting other patrons, including several Canadian Army veterans on a motorcycle tour, and the service from the initial bartender was excellent. We appreciated being allowed to play a complimentary game of pool. Unfortunately, the experience changed dramatically after the bartending shift change. From that point on, we felt unwelcome and believed staff chose to side with a small group of patrons during a disagreement rather than taking the time to understand the situation. Ultimately, we were asked to leave, which came as a complete surprise and left us feeling embarrassed and disappointed. What makes this especially frustrating is that we had spent a significant amount of money at the establishment and had been enjoying ourselves without issue for most of the evening. the way the situation was handled left us feeling dismissed and unfairly treated. Based on this experience, I would not return and don't recommend this establishment to other visitors.

We ordered two types of sliders, one being the fried chicken and they were almost inedible. The chicken was barely fried and then buffalo sauce was slathered all over them. The burger sliders were ok but nothing memorable. As far as the service, while the bartenders were friendly when they came around, they couldn't keep up with the crowd. We waited and waited to be served and they most times did not even look at the guests at the bar to see if they needed anything. While I may try this place if I'm in the area again, I can't say it would be my first stop to hit.

I did find the printed à la carte and dessert menus odd as they list the dishes' main ingredients but lack any preparation detail. So we found ourselves having to ask about several dishes before being able to make a selection. Maybe it is on purpose but it made me a bit uncomfortable to keep asking about preparation of the dishes throughout the courses. The only real negative for us is the same negative we had 10 years ago. We were seated in the porch area and I suspect they fill this area first as it has wonderful views of the Camden Hills. Both times we have been seated in there, there have been loud, fairly obnoxious diners (#-bombs flying this last visit) in the room with us.
