a glass of beer on a wooden table - A clear beverage with ice cubes is served in a transparent glass, placed on a wooden table with visible grain and texture. The drink appears cold and refreshing, with condensation on the glass indicating its chilled temperature.

The Jack is a cozy restaurant with creative food and good service. We ordered from the "big" bowl menu. What's called big bowl is really not that big. It tends to be a little chintzy on the main ingredients, especially at its price point. Everything is extra, even the small cups of sauce. Good drinks and presentation, which I would mainly be back for.

Bocce - The image shows the interior of a restaurant with a rustic design, including wooden floors, exposed ceiling pipes, and wooden support beams. Bocce courts with green surfaces are situated along the length of the space, separated by railings. Large windows on the left side let in natural light, illuminating the area. Patrons and staff are visible in the background, and the space includes seating areas and decorative elements like plants.

Service was good, Bocce was fun, food was horrible. I got the Bahn Mi, which was basically a half a cup of rice, 6 sliced cucumbers, shredded carrots and some pulled pork. The dish was supposed to have sriracha sauce and there was none. $18 of flavorless food, I felt ripped off. I would have given a 1 star but the bocce was fun and different and service was good. Go for drinks and to play, that's about it.

Egg rolls. Asked for them not to be cut. They taste different that way ;)

Walked to the Jack after checking out their page online. Their business hours were wrong but based on their Facebook page I noticed they were open for dinner so I went there with my two year old. Server seemed annoyed to see me, they had just opened. She wasn't friendly, borderline rude but the food was delicious. I think her name was Teagan but I can't remember. I haven't enjoyed hush puppies in awhile- these brought back great memories. Egg roll was decent- a little dry. Fried rice was superb- a humongous portion that could definitely feed a family of 5 or 6. Had Mexican street corn too which wasn't really anything like Mexican street corn or elotes but it was still yummy. They offer free games inside & have outdoor seating. Great menu- no kid's menu. What kinda basic restaurant doesn't offer a kids menu? Weird... I liked how their tacos come on corn tortillas... Overall will be back, just hope I have a different waitress.

The view right outside. - A wooden deck with a railing is visible in the foreground, with potted plants placed on it. Beyond the deck, there is a waterfall feature with water cascading over a ledge, surrounded by greenery and trees in the background. The scene appears to be part of a landscaped backyard or outdoor area, with a mix of natural and constructed elements.

Such a quaint gastropub. The menu is Creative American tapas. The restaurant was full because of their unique menu.

I adore bourbon and "old fashions" to be specific. They have a great KnobCreek9 Old Fashioned. I highly suggest it but top end is their forte' so your imagination is your only holes barred. They are an open fire pizza joint but the apps are also amazing! Sometimes they have events like New Years and they had downstairs open for overflow (my first impression as upstairs was being renovated at the time). I loved it and their barkeeps are all characters and special. These folks are handcrafted with excellence. My friend Jeff!!! Cool guy - The pizza! I picked the mushroom pizza. It has great presentation and some niceties alongside. I'm gonna work my way through the menu. Come join Me! Blue Hill, Maine! Getting down in the Wintuh! !!! Magic Mushrooms is amazing, go try it!

Service lacked attention to detail, especially given how quiet the restaurant was. Glasses arrived spotty, flatware mismatched, and a $14 glass of wine smelled strongly of chlorine. No plates were offered for a shared appetizer, and there was no salt and pepper on the table--we had to ask for both. The food did not justify the price. The Caesar salad was far from authentic--soggy, overdressed, and heavy on vinegar. The steak had a significant amount of gristle, and the mushroom/beef gravy had the taste and texture of a commercial product rather than something house-made. Fries were overdone and served in a very small portion. Most concerning, all four of us experienced stomach discomfort and digestive distress within a short time after the meal. For what we paid, we expected much better. This visit was a major disappointment.

We also ordered two appetizers -- BBQ wings and the Pub Poutine. The margaritas were so awesome, we both had a 2nd one. Wings were excellent -- meaty, with a crispy outer coating. But I wasn't crazy about the poutine though. The gravy used was very light in color and it didn't have white cheddar cheese curds on top. It wasn't "authentic Canadian poutine". Poutine aside, the Sterlingtown Public House is a great place to kick back for a few hours at the bar. Even on a Tuesday night.

As a stressed mom who had just spent hours driving in the car with them, i was tapped out and overstimulated. We ended up having to take our tacos to go (they held up so well on our drive back to our air bnb & tasted delicious), but really the reason for 5 stars was because of the kindness and thoughtfulness of the bartender. I don't know her name, but she packed up our food while I took my screaming toddler to the car, and sent me home with a brownie dessert. She saw me as a human and tapped out mother, and her kind gesture made me cry. We need more people like her. I hope she sees this and remembers us and knows just how much I appreciate her.

Location - Great thing about their location is there are plenty of places to kill time while waiting for your table - local shops or Waterville Creates. We were there on a Saturday and we arrived around 2:30 for an late lunch/early dinner. To our surprise, there was a 25 minute wait! It's a popular family restaurant as well. It's a lot bigger inside than it seems from the outside. When you walk in, there are mostly high tables and a long bar with seating. Walk past the bar and on the right is a dining area with a lot more tables. We had 2 kids and 4 adults and we had plenty of room at a center table. There were booths along the wall. Our server was so great. So patient, and kind. She was great. She checked in regularly, our drinks never went dry. The food was excellent. We had the food for take out during the pandemic and thought it was ok. Having it in the restaurant - HUGE difference. I got the cheese curd burger without the top bun. My nephew loved his chicken wings, my niece loved her mac and cheese. We all loved our burgers and my bro-in-law liked his reuben. I loved the fries, they seemed more the "chips" from the UK - which I loved. Parking - street or on the concourse below Main Street. We will definitely be back.

I was a little chilly by the end of my meal, with goosebumps. But no complaints, like I said, it was muggy outside. I'll take the cool when I can get it! The waitress staff were BUSY today! Carefully marching around platters of many drinks in glasses, navigating foot traffic, small children nearly feral, some heavy doors, and a flight of stairs to the various levels of patio. Kudos to your athleticism for that accomplishment! Goodness! I helped the door open for one young lady that was sweating by bullets carrying about nineteen cold beers on one hand. Food was STELLAR! I had the "Ultimate Grilled Cheese" which was a trio of tasty melted gooey cheeses with applewood smoked bacon thick cut, a tomato pesto on garlic Parmesan crusted Naan bread.
