    Lobster bisque

We caught the sunset at the lighthouse and started heading back to one restaurant we had in mind. I asked my friends to keep an eye out should we stumble upon other options, and as we drove by, Harbor Table caught our eye. We had about a 30 minute wait, but we grabbed some drinks and enjoyed watching the chefs in the open kitchen. The restaurant is quaint and quite adorable. Once seated, Kayla took amazing care of us, learned our names, and made the best recommendations. She let us know they only had a couple of servings of one particular dish left, so one of our friends got it and she sprinted to let the kitchen know to save it for us. We received our appetizers quickly, and although the main courses did take a little while, we didn't mind. Suddenly, Kayla and the owner came out with complimentary limoncello shots and two non-alcoholic options, and they said they wanted to celebrate our friend who beat breast cancer, and applauded her strength and spirit - non a dry eye amongst us upon doing so. That made the experience so personal, and Harbor Table quickly became one of my favorite spots in Maine. The food was all very delicious. I ordered the lobster bisque, and it was warm and chock-full of lobster. Everyone was satisfied, but honestly, the personal touch and caring nature of all the staff was what won us over the most. I highly recommend you drop in and enjoy Harbor Table.

Went here for lunch. Super helpful and friendly staff. Food is locally sourced and fresh. I got The Word and my wife got The Foghorn. Both were extremely delicious. Cute and cozy decor.

Wherever you may be staying on MDI, you have to make sure you eat dinner here at least once. The food and all ingredients are fresh and made to order right where you can see it. The Short Rib Stroganoff may actually be the best comfort dish I've ever had. The Pork Schnitzel was the perfect combo of crispy, juicy, and flavorful. The staff is fantastic. 100% you need to make a stop here if you are in the area!

Great service and amazing food. A must visit while on the island. Worth going out of your way. If you end up waiting, there's a bar in the back outside with games and drinks and appetizers to keep you busy. A specific shoutout to the incredible Pork Schnitzel there right now, (the menu is beautifully seasonal).

This is the kind of place you hope to stumble upon when you're traveling- cozy, scratch kitchen, small menu bursting with flavor I came on a Sunday around 11am and the restaurant was pretty full. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive to us We ordered the lumache Al pesto pasta (I added over easy eggs for breakfast) and my husband ordered "whitefish" salad on toast, which he loved. The pasta was fresh and wonderful. It was an unusual pesto with hazelnuts and included pickled fresno peppers. I came back the next day with my laptop at the bar and was treated very kindly by all as I customized a vegetarian breakfast for myself - modified brat and eggs. Do not not get the potatoes when you visit. They are heaven. I eventually also had the carrot salad, which was almost like a slaw with this addictive tahini dressing. If you're looking for delicious food and to be warmly treated like a local for a few hours, this is the spot for you

We were so lucky to stumble upon this gem- very few places to eat - and this town doesn't need another place because there's no competition. The food and drinks were outstanding! The popovers beat everywhere else. Must have the clam-crab fritters! And the chef is a genius- adding rapini to a pork sandwich- Rich, tasty, and like nothing else! Do not pass by without eating here!

Our 4th visit! Tasty comfort food. Our most recent visit last night the host was very nice regardless how busy it was. We sat at front window. A little tight but cozy, and we got seated right away. The waitress was very attentive to allergies of our party. We had the chicken cutlet, and a smashed burger. All very tasty. The chef even modified their calamari appetizer to accommodate a tree net allergy. As a backup option there is an outdoor "beer garden" in the back where guest can wait for a table, or have a quick snack and play table top games. They now have lobster rolls and steak skewers. Also plenty of parking. We will be back! (photos are from brunch last summer 2023. Not sure why this gem of a place doesn't show up on my yelp search, but it should!)

This is the Meatballs and Shells ordered by another member in the party. Reportedly very good and potentially a top 10 meal of her life.

Service was good. Never left with an empty glass of water which I appreciate. I thought the decor is nice and it's cool to watch them make the food. Good lighting and the music is not too loud. The hummus was so amazing and is a must get. I got the bolognese and the portion was great and it tasted great. Leaving the place satisfied and with a full stomach. If you are in the area it is definitely a must go. For sure a great restaurant in the Acadia area.

Since it was a pleasant evening, I decided to sit on the patio and take in the crisp, cool air. I was surprised at how extensive the menu was with a ton of seasonal options and chef recommendations. I started with a wine tasting flight which allowed me to pick any four wines I wanted to sample. I was hungry, but not starving, so I opted to start with the grilled halloumi toastie, which was essentially a sophisticated open-face grilled cheese. The halloumi was salty and tangy, and paired well with the fresh pesto. Still hungry after my toastie, I decided to order the fresh seared scallops. These were some of the most mouthwatering and delicious scallops I have ever had in my life. Everything about this inn and especially the restaurant, the Bowspirit, was incredible. The service was friendly and attentive, warm and welcoming. Even if you are not staying at this accommodation, I would highly, HIGHLY recommend giving the Bowspirit a try.

We stopped in for a late lunch / early dinner during our Acadia vacation based on a recommendation from a co-worker and we are very glad we did. I had the fish sandwich with fries and a specialty cocktail made with bourbon, ginger beer and honey (I forget the name). The fish sandwich came for way more than enough perfectly cooked haddock and a crunchy and delicious beer-batter crust. The fries we excellent, too (they can so easily be bland and boring, but these were not!) The cocktail was ice-cold (perfect for this hot summer day) and delicious, if a little sweet. Excellent wine and cheese selection. Ladies working store were friendly, polite and knowledgeable…read more Store is compact, clean, stocks and cheese case has a lovely selection. Getting cheese sliced to order by weight at a real counter ensures that you will be getting the real thing, that you like because you have the option to taste it, it ensures the cheese counter will take you through a tasting journey until you find something ideal, and hopefully a little bit of quips and information about each cheese along the way. I can't think of anywhere else I would rather shop for cheese, often precut preweighed and suffocating and it's little plastic jackets. Bottom line it is morally superior to buying cheese from a bin. So let start of this little story by stating the facts 1.) I know cheese. 2.) I love cheese. One of the cheeses I bought from here was spoilt suffering from a particularly bad case of rind rot that was not visually apparent-- only to the tounge. It was what I like to call a tongue piercer but not in a good way. I was wondering why my guests winced after taking a taste, looking puzzled and they politely tried to swallow and get the taste out of their mouths, eyes darting about. "You don't like cheddar with chives? Ohh! it's one of my favorite." *takes a bite* Hooo wee. Boy was it overly funked. Mouth stinging over ammoniatedly funky and not for the faint of heart. Okay so throw it in the chuck it bucket, chalk it up to whatever. But then we went to unwrap the pate well that piece was really past its prime, born just before Zsa Zsa Gabor all glint, grey, covered in a white penicillin like and... GULP green mold. As much as I wanted to cut off the oddly colored growths, to not let it go to waste, I didn't have the heart. 10 years ago? I would not have bat an eye. I would have cut off the nasty and gone to town or at least shared it with my pet cat. God I'm getting old and boring. Hence this Yelp review. Anyway back to the story! The guests were here. Thankfully I had some odds and ends in the cheese drawer to drag out and dust off. And I kid you not I produced a. processed summer salami to swoop in & stand in as a body double for the pate and pair with the pickles and mustard. Crisis averted! Other two cheeses were however perfect, D'affinois in peak ripeness and thrilled they stock moliterno al tartufo. So nice to get these cheeses up here! The d'affinois was smooth like a Donna summer record and the moliterno tasted as if I were there in Sardinia licking lapping at the ocean waves. Batting two out of two makes me wonder what else is lurking in the case, or did I just get unlucky? I'll give them a call and I'll return for sure. Again I stress EXCELLENT selection wonderful employees. But until they work out product dating and storage, I suggest you might ask to sample the cheeses before purchasing (just in case!) and committing-- even one you've had before. Cheeses vary through out the year and the seller importer and purveyor depending on how and how long they're stored/transported. Now here's the best part. I called them and they immediately offered a refund taking my word for this even after I offered to bring in the product to show. Woman on the phone was super sweet. Can't wait to go back and patronize this business again. Happy cheese eating!
