Copita has been around for a few years now. This summer we tried it for the first time, and loved it so much that we dined there twice. The food is delicious and prepared with much care. The service is attentive and friendly. I liked the wine selection and was happy to be able to order a glass of wine that paired well with my food. The crispy artichoke starter is a dish that is not to be missed. We ordered it on each visit. Amazing deep fried artichokes on top of a flavorful romesco sauce. Even the non-artichoke fans in our party loved them. We could have just made them the entree. I had the halibut for an entree, and it was one of the best fish entrees that I have ever had. The fish was pan seared perfectly, with a beurre blanc sauce and mushroom risotto on the side. My husband ordered the duck and declared that it also was delicious. I think that a lot of thought went into the way this food was planned and cooked. I appreciated that, and look forward to returning next summer. read more

First of all, Benjamin, the bartender, is a marvel. Simply put, there is no establishment in Northeast Harbor that provides cocktails on a level even remotely comparable. My husband and I gave Benjamin basic input on our tastes and preferences, and he created several individualized beverages for our taste buds that hit every time. Additionally, I am vegetarian, and the food in NE Harbor is lackluster and repetitive at best (may the gods have mercy on the vegans and gluten free). The (admittedly limited) options at Copita were delicious and plant-forward, not an Impossible burger or mac n cheese! Go here. Drink here. Suggest baptismals and divorce parties here. Absolutely amazing! Some of the best dishes out I've had in awhile. My husband and I came here during our honeymoon as a nice celebratory night out, and Copita did not disappoint! We shared the baked Brie, artichoke heart, and pork belly apps. Baked Brie might have been the best of the the three, closely followed by artichoke (tho my husband would say pork belly). And then got the lobster pasta main. Which was delish! Pics attached. Whoa !! Don't think about this place, just go and eat! My husband had the best pork chops and I had a paperelle pasta with chicken. The food and service were to die for! So highly recommend! We were late in our dinner plans, arrived at 804pm and had a gorgeous, professionally served and cooked meal. 5 stars every day! End of season exceptional food and service! read more

We randomly came upon this place hungry and tired after camping in Acadia. The restaurant we were shooting for (pub grub) was closed and we popped over to Northeast Harbor. We were surprised that there is almost nothing open in the town after 8pm but we were so lucky that there was a cancelation and they squeezed us in. Despite being woefully underdressed and grimy, we were treated to a high end but casual dining experience. My cocktail was excellent with casasca and blood orange and the wine list (even by the glass) was well curated and affordable. The menu was limited but with a nice selection. I had seafood risotto which was done to perfection. I am always nervous getting risotto because it is typically overcooked. The seafood was all cooked correctly so careful timing was done with a mix of lobster, cod, shrimp, scallops. The carrot green pesto was cheffy and well executed. Hubby had mixed green salad and such care was taken with all of the components and dressed perfectly with a light vinegarette. Fresh seasonal radishes, tomatoes, carrots and greens. His halibut encrusted with pistachio with mixed grains was likewise well- executed. The dessert (chocolate mousse) was a lovely presentation and beautiful dessert wines to choose from. The service was well done with great communication between 3 different servers and good timing between courses. The one server is a level 2 sommelier with a great attitude and quite engaging who was just lovely and made the experience fantastic. Thanks for the surprisise 5 star dining experience on a camping trip. What a find! Would recommend to anyone. For a high end restaurant, I found prices reasonable to surprisingly affordable with 3 glasses of wine, a craft cocktail as well as the aforementioned for around $100 per person. This is a cute restaurant in North East Harbor Maine with good service but the food fell short of what you would expect for a restaurant of this caliber. First we ordered a salad called mixed greens. I expected interesting greens but just your standard green salad of mixed lettuce like what you always get in the grocery store. The dressing had no taste taste in the dressing at all...very boring. My husband ordered a steak. The cut was thick in the center and much thinner on both ends. He could not eat the ends as they were overcooked. He felt for just under fifty dollars, the chef should have been aware or cooked according. I ordered lobster and it was served with a pasta. It was fine. The waiter asked how our meal was and my husband mentioned the steak. We would not have mentioned if he had not asked. He acted a bit standoffish when it was mentioned. The manager or owner came by at some point and asked how everything was but not because the waiter sent him over. My husband it was ok but mentioned the steak which again we would not have mentioned if not asked. He also acted a bit taken back. He took $10 off the bill without asking for any discount. This restaurant is one of the few in the area open on Mondays so we might try again but we would not rush back. read more

This local restaurant was a nice surprise for us. We were able to have a wonderful and delicious dinner without reservations. (Although we were lucky to be seated as the place was full all night) Choosing from the menu was difficult as there were so many interesting dishes we wanted to try. I had the halibut which was prepared to perfection with a tender corn niblet and grain side to accompany it. The fish was so fresh, light and delectable. My husband ordered the pepper stuffed eggplant over coconut cilantro rice. It was so good! Alexandra, our server was very friendly and helpful in our decision making and waiting on us. This place is popular and for good reason. Kind server, really good food, huge entree portions (if we had known I would have adjusted our order), beautiful ingredients and a charming atmosphere. So this restaurant is new and created quite a buzz this summer, granted there are very few evening dining options in Northeast Harbor, Maine. So if you are staying local and don't want a long drive to Southwest or Bar Harbor, this is one of your limited choices. The place is tiny and reservations hard to get. They fill the small room, so the tables in the center are busy with passing patrons and severs. Not super relaxing imho, for a place this expensive. And it is VERY expensive. The drink menu is certainly creative, but small drinks and big $. The food skews more eclectic than tasty. The server was friendly but a sophomore in college, which is fine, but not what you'd expect at a 5 star price point. All in all, doesn't live up to the hype and a one and done for us. read more

Great creative food and excellent service in a quiet dining room. A gem tucked away in the village of Northeast Harbor in Mt. Desert. An advance reservation for a table for two got us a seat by the front window. A limited menu with carefully crafted dishes with local ingredients garnished with herbs and flower petals. For starters my wife had the panzanella salad which she loved and I had the crispy artichoke with arugula and romanesca sauce - very tasty. Entrees - Aragosta capellini for my wife which she said had generous portions of flavorful lobster meat but there was a tad bit too much red pepper flakes in the pasta. I had the duck breast complimented with a rhubarb relish, mashed potatoes, fiddleheads and delicious mushrooms - superbly prepared. Excellent wine, beer, c/mocktails list. Quiet, uncrowded, understated dining room. Friendly, efficient service topped it off. Skip the boring Bar Harbor tourist restaurants and ride the scenic park loop road for a special treat in a quiet part of the island. read more

AND THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT! there are some tourist traps in Bar Harbor, and this place was without exception the best food option on the island. I can't vouch for this place enough. We have been coming to MDI for the week of the 4th for 30 years now. The restaurant scene changes rapidly - even without COVID. We always hope for one evening of really fine atmosphere and excellent food and, this year, we found it at Copita in Northeast Harbor. The service was impeccable and we really enjoyed talking with Patrick. All of the staff is knowledgeable about the food. My strawberry Paloma was great. The wine list is eclectic and we were able to find Verdicchio ( a favorite) to complement my pesto pasta and a Cab that suited the lollipop lamb chops my husband chose as an entree. The shared green salad was not overly dressed and included local strawberries, fresh pea pods and watermelon radishes. We were so glad we did not order two salads as portions of everything are more than generous. My pesto penne pasta was light and included brined chicken breast that was moist and very flavorful. The lollipop lamb chops were glazed with pomegranate molasses and cooked to perfection. We shared the Callebaut chocolate torte garnished with chocolate mousse and butterscotch whipped cream. The dessert menu includes an extensive array of dessert wine flights but a shared Armagnac was perfect for us. Copita is a gem that should not be missed. No pretense here, just great food and service. read more
