Huge portions!! Great for before or after hike. The seafood omelet had so much lobster and scallops. I don't know how it was only $20. All the food was great. No fresh juice or fancy coffees.

The service and food are very good. Great little spot right outside of the Acadia National Park. Very old hotel and restaurant with an accommodating staff. The crab cakes and salad were very good. The iced tea tasted like coffee and we couldn't drink it. Definitely worth popping in for a quick lunch.

Chicken cordon bleu

I got the chicken cordon bleu to go with potatoes and asparagus. The meal total was $20 but the flavor was not good and it was not a traditional chicken cordon bleu. I was staying at Blackwoods Campground and they were close and offered to go, so that was nice. Parking is street only and a pain if they get busy.

Lobster Roll

We stayed in the Airbnb below the Lighthouse so I stopped in for lunch one afternoon. It's an old timey bar feel with friendly staff. The hours are odd especially towards the end of high season. The lunch menu and dinner menu vary drastically. They tell you up front if they are out of a menu item which happened when I visited. Their poor fryer also went out so that limited the menu some more. However, as long as you're flexible, you'll find something to eat. I got the lobster roll and it was good. They are known for their soups and chowders and homemade pie but I didn't try those this time around. Maybe next time.

The dining room / bar area.

This was a nice little find. Spending most of the day at the National Park, we were looking for a beer and sandwich. The park was not the spot for all that. If you blink you're gonna miss this place. The staff was attentive and knew the names of local patrons. The food was home made and the draft local beer was nice and cold. I ordered the crab cakes which were made with fresh crab and the Caesar salad had house made dressing. The interior was old food floors and seaside decor. Happy eating everyone!

Cute little restaurant. Clam chowder was excellent and the Reuben might be the best I've had

The inside was cozy and rustic with a clear fisherman's vibe. My wife and I ate here for our 15th wedding anniversary while on vacation in Acadia. We started with the fisherman's chowder, which is probably the best chowder I've ever had. It wasn't too salty (which is almost unheard of) and came with tons of lobster and other seafood. We both devoured it. The only problem was trying to make sure that you didn't burn your mouth because it was so good you didn't want to wait to eat it. I got the tuna and green bean casserole while my wife got the pasta bolognese. Both were good, but the tuna really stood out. It was seared, sushi-grade, blackened tuna over chopped green beans that weren't in any way over-cooked with a small pea-shoot salad. The name didn't do the dish any justice. We also had a few decent local beers in cans, which both paired well and were yummy.

I had the burger special which was fucking fantastic! I was getting pretty tired of seafood at this point and it was the most refreshing change of pace. It was one of those just in time food experiences. C went for the crab cakes. What a gorgeous version of crab cakes they were! Fancy pants presentation and all things considered some of the best crab cakes we had on our trip. Bartender was really friendly and was super proud of their whiskey/bourbon collection. He did point out a few bottles to us that were really quite special and hard to come across. They had some Penelope variants that were unseen to me. I would come back in a heartbeat. If I lived nearby, I would be here all of the time. There were a ton of interesting menu items I would like to try. '26 - 26

Desert Island's Somes Sound--alone, but the service and food were fantastic, too. We stopped in for a late lunch / early dinner during our Acadia vacation based on a recommendation from a co-worker and we are very glad we did. I had the fish sandwich with fries and a specialty cocktail made with bourbon, ginger beer and honey (I forget the name). The fish sandwich came for way more than enough perfectly cooked haddock and a crunchy and delicious beer-batter crust. The fries we excellent, too (they can so easily be bland and boring, but these were not!) The cocktail was ice-cold (perfect for this hot summer day) and delicious, if a little sweet. My partner had the Mediterranean Plate which came with Grilled Flat Bread, Hummus, Tzatziki, Marinated Cucumber Salad, Marinated Olives, and Feta. She loved all 'the subtle and distinct flavors that went together so well!' Note that Batson River Fish Camp has two locations and is part of Batson River Brewing and Distilling. This location is on the beautiful grounds of the Claremont Hotel in Southwest HarbFor, ME.
