We had the best dinner following some strenuous hikes at Acadia. Going from the Beehive Trail to dinner served by Penelope Moon was the best experience. The oysters were the freshest that we've ever had. We had such a fun time with our server, Penelope Moon. We can't wait to come back for her knowledge and antics.

The food was delicious. The maple cornbread was great. My boyfriend loved the oysters. We both got fish tacos & I wish I could eat these everyday they were so good. The drinks were good. Service was great too! The inn & restaurant were lovely - very cozy! I thought prices were fair for great food from a small business, I wish I lived close by so I could come here more often. Looking forward to it again!

Very friendly and welcoming ambience. A bar at the front entrance as well as seating to the right. Outdoor tables available as well. Very flavorful food, cooked to perfection. Service was was professional, kind, and quick- always checking on us. Worth the drive and one of the best dinner locations in Hancock.

I ordered the filet, which was disappointingly fatty and gristly--so much so that I was unable to finish even half of the entrée. At this price point, one expects a cut of beef to be exceptional, and this simply was not. To the restaurant's credit, they did reduce the cost of my entrée, though I was surprised it was not fully comped given how inedible much of it was. On a positive note, the dessert was phenomenal and easily the highlight of the evening. Additionally, the others in our party thoroughly enjoyed their meals, suggesting that the kitchen is capable of producing quality dishes. That said, with the total bill reaching $260 including tip for two people, value matters. Fine dining carries high expectations--not only for food quality but also for service recovery when something goes wrong. While there were certainly bright spots, the overall experience left me feeling that there are far better dining options in Downeast Maine where your money may be better spent. I will continue to recommend Chipper's in Hancock for those wanting a fine dining experience.

I had the burger special which was fucking fantastic! I was getting pretty tired of seafood at this point and it was the most refreshing change of pace. It was one of those just in time food experiences. C went for the crab cakes. What a gorgeous version of crab cakes they were! Fancy pants presentation and all things considered some of the best crab cakes we had on our trip. Bartender was really friendly and was super proud of their whiskey/bourbon collection. He did point out a few bottles to us that were really quite special and hard to come across. They had some Penelope variants that were unseen to me. I would come back in a heartbeat. If I lived nearby, I would be here all of the time. There were a ton of interesting menu items I would like to try. '26 - 26

Another had the Warm Roasted Root Vegetable Salad that she said was wonderful. We finished the meal with generous portions of carrot cake topped with delicious cream cheese frosting. There is a store inside the Black Moon (that happened to be closed on a Saturday night). In the corner they sell vinyl records and CDs and there is also a selection of guitars. The toast was our favorite dish all week, with the mushrooms being perfectly cooked and the chèvre bringing a creaminess and slight funk to the dish. It was all delicious, and flavors were well-balanced, meaning acids and fats were paired well together. Food presentation was exceptional. Service was incredible, in that our waiter answered all of our questions and food came quickly. Additionally, my wife and I showed up at 5:30 and were promptly seated.
