Swan island sweet babies

BEST MIGNONETTE IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY!!!!! I would bathe in this mignonette Ohhhhh man, you knew I'd be back! This bar has such a great vibe! No bs just straight to the point! Stopped in for our anniversary from wayyyy downeast, we had the swan island oysters and they were spectacular. The bartender was so amazing! She was so cool and super knowledgeable about where to grab some oysters to bring back home! I absolutely love this place! I will continue coming back for many many years! The care and love that is put into their oysters is very appreciated! Just keep on keeping on guys! You all deserve a medal for bringing so much love and happiness to this community ! Thanks again!

So much fun, and a rare non-tourist spot in a bustling vacation town! We visited in the evening after sunset on Cadillac, and we enjoyed a lovely spread of Oysters and apps (plus tasty drinks). I had a dirty martini, my husband had a negroni (both perfectly made), and we loved our food. The mackerel dip is amazing, and the oysters are fresh and fantastic. They are participants of the Maine Oyster Trail, so make sure to log your visit! Very casual and friendly service across the board. This is not a restaurant, but it is a great bar. Cozy alcoves and tables are first come first serve. I will absolutely return next time I visit MDI!

All hail the amazing Zana, the mixologist, hostess, server, and busser at this Main Street establishment! Oysters to die for, great cocktails, beers and for those of us so inclined: mezcal.

Cute vibe, great drinks, late night snacks for those of us who still haven't adjusted to east coast time :) this place was a hit. Service was awesome and we had an awesome time.

Exceptionally great local Maine oysters that just need a little squeeze of lemon . When they're this good minimal is better. Get two dozen !!! Parking is very difficult, place was packed today. 5 stars

Came here on 11/16 which I guess was their off season. We came mostly to try their oysters, but unfortunately, during off-season their kitchen is closed and they're really only a bar. We still ended up sitting down and grabbing two drinks while we were there. They had one bartender which was fine since they weren't too busy anyway she was really sweet and kept in conversation with us the whole time we were there. The place is rather small, but I imagine during peak season that this place could get really busy .

Waited outside while they opened and there was already a line of people waiting so I thought this was going to be good and I was not disappointed. This place is small but cozy with vibrant food and spaces. The menu is limited but oh boy the food is great so that proves you don't need a big menu to get good food. Today we had the oysters and the Manchego panini, everything was so tasty, fresh and well presented. The host/bartender/waitress is very friendly and upbeat. This is a great choice for a bite and good beer.

I'd give 6 stars if I could!!! The ambiance was fabulous. Felt like I was in a hole in the wall bar in the middle of Bar Harbor. They're open later than many restaurants in town and have a limited menu but the best oysters I've ever had. The vinaigrette sauce they were served with was top tier. They purchase from island-based oyster farms in Bar Harbor and buy fresh every day. I'd go back 100x over!

Don't stop, run. Best oysters in town. Bartender is so knowledgeable, personable and authentic. The Bar Harbor Blondes are devine and we will be back again tonight. Soft jazz playing in the back makes this a perfect spot for anytime of day. 10/10 recommend!

Nice place, warm welcome by the bartender. Got Pinot Grigio and oysters. The Pinot Grigio was ok, so were the oysters (Still a little fat) but they were well opened (not like others).

Stopped in for a quick drink right when they opened. The bartender was great! Recommended the trout dip, which was so good! Enjoyed some local craft beers. The atmosphere reminded us of a bar in Barcelona. Would recommend!

Chips and dip plus oysters!

Fresh oysters with AMAZING, non-traditional mignonette that rocked our socks off! We truly could have easily each eaten a dozen on our own and been very happy! He had never had a New England oyster, and he was stunned at how delicious it was! I have had my share of fresh oysters, and these were TASTY! Zana, the bartender, was so kind and works with such calm energy while she keeps up a full bar in a very timely manner! She is kind and impressive! We both HIGHLY recommend! It is a narrow bar, but if you get the front window or a bar seat, there is room for your oyster plate! A small ledge along the wall is available with seating, and that is good for ordering drinks. A few larger tables create a cool environment in the back of the room! The restrooms are clean, and there is a sweet metal spiral staircase going down in the very back of the restaurant (for workers, I presume). ENJOY your experience there! Warmly.

Enough said....delicious.

Perfect stop for a drink and oysters. Small venue with lots of charm. I look forward to visiting again

Reviewed the menu and decided this is where I wanted to come after a long day hiking in the park…read moreand starving after skipping lunch. This spot is cozy and quaint and full of friendly local staff members. It was Kentucky Derby day and a lot of folks we were watching it as we walked in, ambiance was jovial and loud. Greeted immediately by the hostess and bartender and waited a short while for a table to open up. I ordered the chicken sandwich and my husband ordered the Reuben. He is Jewish and loves Reubens, gets them all the time. He said this one was really, really good. Great texture to the meat. Now, my Chicken Sandwich - was the best I've ever had in my life. I told my husband, I will be holding any and all future chicken sandwiches up to this one as the benchmark. The breaded chicken breast was huge and delicious quality white meat. It was dipped in buffalo sauce, and had fresh slaw, pickles, tomato and blue cheese sauce. It was DECADENT and it really hit the spot for me after a long day. I could not stop eating it. YUMMMM. Oh, we also ordered the pub fries - loaded with aioli and cheese and greens. Fries were delish but a bit too much aioli for our taste. Still, wonderful! Huge portion. Overall, food was yummy, out quickly, service was great and we loved the vibes. Easily a fav for us on this trip and we'll be looking forward to coming back again some day!

The service wasn't exactly warm or helpful, but since we already knew what we wanted, it wasn't a dealbreaker. I ordered an Old Fashioned with chocolate bitters -- an unexpectedly delicious twist on the classic. My Shepherd's Pie was hearty and flavorful, especially paired with Leary's salad for a lighter balance. Meanwhile, my husband continued his personal mission to try lobster bisque at every restaurant in Maine -- and Leary's version earned solid marks as a runner-up on his bisque leaderboard. Rich, creamy, and satisfying, just shy of the gold medal. To keep it Irish, I finished with a Black & Tan -- a bit darker than my preferred Newcastle-and-Guinness blend, but still a fine way to toast the evening. Bottom line: Leary's Landing is a solid pub for hearty comfort food, good drinks, and prime people-watching. Service could use a smile or two, but the vibe -- and that bisque -- make it worth the stop.

Lompoc is one of the most vegetarian friendly dinner spots in Bar Harbor…read more They don't take reservations and offer three seating arrangements: the patio, the bar, and a small inside area with four or so tables. I would have liked to sit outside on their cute patio, but it was full and the hostess said it would be a long wait, so we decided to eat inside. At first she directed us to a table in the bar but realized it was very loud (music and patrons) so offered to seat us in the other inside section. We had a view of a bocce match and the patio--definitely better than the bar, but not as nice as the patio. They were playing classic rock and the people at the table next to us asked to turn it down, and they were accommodated, which made for a nicer experience for us as well. The falafel wrap and Banh Mi (v) were very good and the chips can be substituted for a house salad or fries, which we did. The dressing was light and I enjoyed it. The highlight of the experience at Lompoc was dessert. Although there was nothing vegan on the dessert menu, our server suggested an "off the menu" rhubarb raspberry sorbet, which was excellent! And doesn't it enhance the experience when you feel like they're letting you in on something special?! I'd definitely return and try to get there early (4:30) to be able to sit outside.

The staff is always exceptionally kind and forthcoming with their opinions on the food which makes it known they genuinely enjoy it too. The last time I was here I got the bang bang chicken and was able to even get the spicy sauce in the side so I could control my spice level. The true winner for the night was a chocolate carrot cake from a local bakery in town. It was decadent yet well balanced and a hefty portion that I would have regretted if I finished entirely. This place has a unique vibe compared to all the other spots in Bar Harbor and has something for everyone. Do not miss this place when in town.

I had the Mediterranean Mezzo for my meal and if you'd like it gluten free you can ask for extra cucumbers instead of the pita bread. The waiter was nice enough to bring me the cucumbers after he brought out the dish as there was an abundance of pitas in comparison to the rest of the items. They give you 3 dips which were all delicious. Tzatziki, olive dip and a Muhammara which is a red pepper dip. We then got the Oysters Rockafeller to split. Lots of tobiko. Heavy sausage flavor. I would probably skip those next time. I will say regarding drinks, they have a beautiful cocktail list but my stomach wasn't feeling great so instead of a normal spicy margarita or something similar, I asked for a dirty martini and it came out with a funky flavor. Most likely too much vermouth. The poor waiter took at least ten minutes before returning with a new martini without vermouth. He or the bartender clearly did not know how to make this. If I returned to the area I'd definitely return for a funky cocktail and something a little more adventurous on the menu.
