We arrived at 5:30 p.m. on a Friday and were told the wait would be about an hour. The host suggested we grab a drink and explore the grounds while we waited, which sounded reasonable. After an hour, I checked back and was told there were still four tables ahead of us. We didn't end up being seated until nearly two hours after we arrived. Once we were seated, our waitress let us know the pizza would also take quite a while. It ended up being another hour before our food arrived. Waiting nearly three hours from arrival to being served is simply unacceptable. From what I could see, there were only about eight staff members working, including the host, bartender, dishwasher, and servers. It was obvious they were overwhelmed and the restaurant was severely understaffed for the number of customers coming in. While I don't blame the employees they were doing the best they could the business clearly wasn't prepared to handle the crowd. It's disappointing because the property has a lot of potential, but poor management, extremely slow service, and inadequate staffing completely overshadowed the experience. Until they can properly staff the restaurant and provide realistic wait times, I can't recommend dining here. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else.

Fantastic! The staff were super hospitable while we waited during a rainy day. We sat at the bar and had great conversation. This was our favorite meal we had while visiting the area. We loved the carrot puree they provided with the pizza to dip our crust in. Cozy/great vibes all around!

We are on vacation in Bar Harbor and after a day of walking miles on trails in Acadia, we wanted pizza for dinner. I searched and found Sweet Pea's, and was also excited about dining outside of the usually busy downtown Bar Harbor area. This place is so charming and the food was absolutely amazing! The wood fired pizzas were devoured as well as the Plancha potatoes. We had a cheese pizza with meatballs; the Harvest; and the Hunter with a substitution of garlic olive oil for the marinara due to a tomato allergy. Everything was delicious! The crust is perfect and the portion was just right. So happy we found such a great restaurant for the last night of our vacation in Bar Harbor!

This farm-to-table spot has quickly become a must-visit every time I'm in the area. The setting, right next to Sweet Pea's Farm and Bar Harbor Cellars Winery, is gorgeous and relaxed. You can enjoy a drink by the fire pit and I love that I can bring my pup along on the patio. The menu changes with the seasons and the daily harvest, which keeps things fresh and exciting. Some of my favorites are the local oysters and their specialty pizzas. You really can't go wrong! Last time, I tried the lobster pizza and it was absolutely incredible. The veggies, sourced from nearby farms, are always outstanding too; I often go for the beet salad. Everything feels thoughtful, seasonal, and connected to the local food community.

I loved this place so much that we ate there twice while on vacation. Snag a seat outside; blankets are available on chilly nights. We sat inside on the second visit, which was nice, too. We had pizza both nights, as well as plancha potatoes and grilled veggies. This Real food is fresh and delightful! It's such a treat! The second night, we got the basque cheesecake, which was heavenly. The wine selection is also great! The menu changes and they have different specials and desserts each night. We tried Fiddle Heads for the first time-loved them!

My bf and I came here and were so impressed by everything. We've been wanting to have a farm to table style dinner on this trip and we're excited to try this place. Upon coming there was a 45 minute wait, but we didn't mind. The property is so beautiful, we were able to order a bottle of blueberry wine and hang out on the lawn near the pond. All of the staff were very friendly as well. When we were sat we ordered some apps- we got the vegetables, beets, and meatballs. All of the food was very fresh and delicious. We really loved the vegetables, it was what we were looking for on this trip. My bf and I shared the hunter pizza, it came with kale, mushrooms, bacon and it was served with a carrot and olive oil confite. We were blown away by the flavor and the space overall. Definitely come here if you're in the Bar Harbor area, solid spot!

What in the actual? This restaurant is more than a restaurant. It's an experience. Wait to eat outside after enjoying the garden. The food menu is not huge but it's delicious. Get the pizza, get the chickpeas but skip the beets. I can't stress how beautiful it is - truly a Maine experience. Our kids loved running around the green space. Summer memories made!

Was visiting bar harbor in October and I'm always on the look out for farm to table restaurant experiences.. I stumbled upon this magical place and was pleasantly surprised with one of the best dinners I've ever had. Their special was lobster grits and I ordered their seasonal veggies and warm spiked cider. Let me just say I'm a fast eater and I made sure to slow myself down to savor every bit. I was alone and brought a book to read. I'm normally nervous of going to dinner alone however, it seemed every worker made it their mission to make me feel at home and welcomed. Maybe they only hire sweet peas?? Please do yourself a favor and stop by. Oh also- went back to their coffee shop on property the morning and had great coffee and a delicious homemade blue berry muffin. (Sorry for the half eaten picture) I was too captivated by it to take a picture first.

We came here on Tuesday afternoon after doing a wine tasting Next Door We were going to have lobster also next door but the place seemed very cozy and inviting. We had chicken pizza pepperoni pizza, and the meat balls. Staff is friendly and attentive. After we walked around the garden.

Lovely restaurant attached to winery with the most charming ambiance. We had a party of 7 and were immediately seated for a late lunch (they open at 3pm) outside. There is very limited seating inside so keep that in mind if the weather isn't ideal. Pizzas were the main entree with some specials and a build your own option. My husband and I got The Ranger pizzas which was good and the beat salad special which was underwhelming. My blueberry spritz drink (local blueberry wine, brandy, soda water) was very refreshing! Our servers were prompt and friendly and the food came out quickly! I definitely recommend this restaurant for dinner if the weather is nice!!

What an incredible place full of love and purpose. We were so happy to be there and enjoy the food, gardens and humans who make this space happen. Happy s'more season ya'll!

This place should be on the list of top restaurants on the island. Though it would be hard to get a table. So for now, if you read this, consider yourself luck and go there if you are I to farm to table and a cute place to eat outside with nature yet ironically off the highway. Food was delicious and even tried a new vegetable.

Online it says the Cafe hours are 8am to 9pm on Sundays however everything is closed they have a sign saying 11am - 9pm. Is this mistake because of a change in seasonal hours or something?

Hi! Those are 2017 hours. We are no longer doing breakfast on Sundays.

Loved the interior as soon as we walked in. A nod to the feel of an old speakeasy, rich wood tones…read moreand a faux brick ceiling, it was fun and right out of a movie. I loved how all of the bartenders and servers seemed to pitch in and help out. There was never the feeling like anyone was focused on just their job. They were all focused on making sure the patrons had what they needed. I was here on a Tuesday evening with my husband and 2 kids, 6 and 10. They don't print a kids menu but readily offer options of burgers, grilled cheese, mac and cheese, pasta with marinara, and pasta with butter and parmesan. My kids had mac and cheese and buttered pasta, which with homemade rigatoni noodles, we packed the leftovers. For cocktails, we had The Balcony is Closed, a delightful gin and lemon cocktail but the honey beer syrup balances it and the chili oil gives it a kick of a finish. I have gin cocktails wherever I go, and I've traveled and eaten far and wide. This is one of my top 3 most memorable gin drinks. We also tried The Assault Continues, smoky and earthy; not my favorite but for my smoky scotch loving husband, it hit the spot. Of course, we had to try the tuna nachos. I feel like so many restaurants try to do tuna nachos and it's been there, done that. But you haven't had THESE tuna nachos. They're spectacular. The ingredients on the menu speak for themselves but they finally got the ratio and presentation just right. It's a work of art. The caprese was also delicious, the stracciatella and pistachios playing nicely off each other. Dinners were rigatoni with short rib, and the halibut. The rigatoni was delicious. The halibut was out of this world. Perfect sear, perfectly cooked halibut in a corn cream sauce or nage, the summer succotash, fresh corn, crisp bacon, salty caviar. I really proverbially licked the plate with my fork. It was special and incredibly well executed. Not to mention the blueberry pie bar and carrot cake were also delicious. Both disappeared in a matter of seconds. We didn't have to fight for or pay through the nose for parking in downtown Bar Harbor for this wonderful dinner. Get the free parking in several lots in town. The city hall parking lot is directly behind the restaurant building. If you like to eat on a budget, this spot may not be for you, but if you enjoy great food and cocktails, I really think the prices are comparable to what you'd pay in other more populated areas. The food is a diamond in the rough.

The appetizers were excellent!…read more We ordered mussels which were tasty and generous, could have been is own meal. If it was served with crusty bread instead of a thick slice of toasted bread, it would have been perfect. The nachos were unique and delicious with generous toppings and ahi tuna... also could have been a meal by itself... chef's kiss to those two items! Our entrees were a dish called Gnudi- which if you don't know what they are(we didn't and when we looked it up, it said it is similar to gnocchi- IT ISN'T!!!) ask before you order, if you've never had it, it's very unique and we didn't care for it at all... there was no recourse given by the restaurant... make sure you know what it is!! Our other entree was rigatoni that was topped with ricotta and short rib sauce, shredded cheese... it was tasty, but very pricey for a bowl of pasta... To make a reservation, you need to give a credit card and if you don't show up, your card is charged $25 per person. The service was friendly until we didn't like the Gnudi... then it was a little weird... It was fine, but not exceptional... Cold bottles of water are given to the table and refreshed as necessary. The restroom is not kept up, could use shine attention, a little elbow grease to clean it. They are on Facebook and offer specials on their burgers.

Service was friendly and very knowledgeable. The drinks we got were great. Things to improve on: Priced a little high for what you get. Change the menu to much where they don't have anything on the menu you have to hear everything from the waitress which is hard to remember. The vibe is chill speakeasy/library; there's a comfy bar area with tables and then a warren of other little spaces where you can hang out as well, with books and games strewn about to peruse. I love that they have a small, curated menu, which makes it easy: Maine oysters (two kinds, both awesome) got me started with a martini (well OK two martinis; friendly bartender makes them *perfectly*), and then you can extend to dinner with a few rotating options. I got lucky because whoever is making this delicious food decided that bolognese and lasagna should have a baby and be served in a piping-hot dish with some bread and salad on the side, and who could be mad about that?! (NB get some red wine with it). And they feature the fabulous Maine martini (aka Allen's Coffee Brandy, to which I have been converted), so there's your perfect nightcap. Sometimes when you go to bars with small menus the food is so-so, but not here: everything was insanely good and the perfect portion size. Who knows when I'll be back in Bangor next, but I'll definitely come here again when I am. Check it out!
