The starters were okay but the stars of the show came next. Our boys each enjoyed the halibut served with risotto. My husband had the Cacio e Pepe. He said it was as good as any he had while in Rome. I had the Gnocchi Mushroom Ragu. It was one of the top Gnocchi dishes I have had the pleasure of enjoying. Our ten year old son said it was the best gnocchi he has ever had. The texture of the gnocchi and the flavors of the sauce made for a flawless dish. The chef makes all pastas in-house and you can tell. The pasta dishes are exceptional! The texting from the staff throughout our stay checking in on everything was great. The rooms were very spacious and seemed upgraded a bit but still had a nautical and coastal feel. I haven't been to any other hotels in the area, but we would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves back in Bar Harbor.

No one gave us a look, a nod or a sign that we were interrupting their good time. The food was average, not worth amount charged. The poor waitress was mortified and so apologetic as she witnessed the ordeal.
