If you live here, you really "want" to give Chase's a good review. But you don't get one just for "being here". Unfortunately this restaurant is average at best. The prices aren't terrible but the food isn't great.... It's one of those "Well I guess we could Go to Chase's" choices. Sorry to say but every other restaurant in town is a better choice. In Maine for vacation and had dinner at Chases twice. Our Air BNB host said under new ownership. We ate the baked haddock and seafood Alfredo. Both were fantastic. they were busy, service was still good for as many people they had for a Tuesday night. Had the Friday night fish with fried mushrooms. Loved the light dusting of breading and is not greasy like a beer batter fish. If you haven't ate here in awhile give it a try. Just sorry we are from out of town and vacation is over. 5 stars because it's so hard to get a clean, gluten free meal in most small town restaurants but this one did great. My partner had sauteed local scallops (described by her as amazing), a baked potato, cole slaw, and ice cream. Zero gluten reaction so no cross contamination. Excellent! My fish and chips were pretty good but I've had better fried haddock. I subbed onion rings for the fries. They were thin sliced, low batter, and very oniony in a desirable way. I liked the coleslaw, too. I finished with really good blueberry pie with ice cream. It was a good meal but taking care of my partner's issue tops all others and required that 5th star.. read more

First time visitor. Stopped in to order our dinner to go. Sat at the bar and ordered drinks while waiting for food (husband had a beer and my daughter and I had soft drinks). Great experience until the very last minute when one of the employees told us that to go orders needed to be made online. It was rude and killed the good feelings. Arrived home with 2 house salads, 2 bowls of clam chowder, shrimp, and a pizza. Food was just okay. Nothing special and I could have had the clam chowder with a straw. So runny. The food is good however there is no gluten free options which is surprises as there is a lot of tourists eating there. There is a lot of fried seafood and some dishes are broiled. French fries are really good. Service is excellent and staff is friendly. It is a really cute place to be in and eating area is very clean. We had an enjoyable lunch after exploring Schoodic Peninsula on a Monday early afternoon. Had the bacon wrapped scallops as an appetizer - nice seafood treat, freshly made and brought quickly. I had the cheeseburger, which was overcooked for my liking, but would have been good if I preferred a char-grilled burger cooked med-well. My son had fish chips, which was lightly breaded and very tender. Mt husband got the chicken tenders, which were also breaded well, tender, and juicy. The coleslaw was so close to my grandmother's recipe, it was a welcome memory for me! Loved her coleslaw! Overall, highly recommended. Friendly service with a smile. read more

Arrived in Winter Harbor and this was the only restaurant open for dinner on a Tuesday. They do not have the staff and told us it would be 1 1/2 hours but we replaced people at the bar and sat immediately. The bar only seats four. The place looks like a diner and it was rather warm inside but it did cool down after a while. Ordered the Lazy Lobster with the mash potatoes and coleslaw and it was all delicious. We also had the blueberry pie and bread pudding for dessert. Our server was very nice but she was definitely very busy. read more

Fun little place on the way to the Schoodic Point in Acadia national park. Not much was open on this fall afternoon. Small joint but very friendly and down to earth people. My husband had the clam chowder and I tried a scallop roll for the first time. It was stuffed with scallops and the tartar sauce was unique with dill in it, instead of chunky relish. I liked it a lot! They also serve adult drinks and had harbor workers come after shift. Seemed like close knit community. They offered us other suggestions in the region. The place is atleast 50% more expensive than nearby places (which we found out after seating at the table since 80% of the food on the menu is "market price") - waitress quoted a tiny lobster roll for 60$! About 20-30% of the food items listed were unavailable. Front person's first question for our party of 8 was - why didn't we reserve. Well we called ahead and it went to voicemail. And there is no online booking. Waitress spoke poor English. There was no public Wi-Fi and there is no cellular service (I use AT&T and stood at the parking lot trying to send an urgent text). Lastly there is no view (even though they are just a mile away from Schoodic) - you will finish your expensive and surprisingly mediocre dinner while watching your own car in a nondescript parking lot. If there was ever an example of a horrendously overpriced tourist trap, this is it. WILL NOT RETURN. read more

the service at this place is really good, they check up on you and are extremely nice. The food on the other hand is a different story. I ordered fish and chips thinking no one could mess it up, yet they did. The fish didn't taste like anything and the breading was super thin and the same breading you see on chicken tenders. The fries were bland with no seasoning and absolutely no crunch what so ever. They also struggled to make a good coleslaw and their lobster rangoons were worse than the crab rangoons at panda express, they didn't taste like anything and the pastry was extremely thin. I understand that this a small town. With that said let me share my experience. I didn't expect too much from this restaurant. I was at least hoping to have the Maine experience, eating sweet tasty lobster. My girlfriend and I arrived before the place experienced an influx of customers. Basically this was just around 6pm. The restaurant was about 1/2 full of patrons. We each ordered a drink and at the same time placed our dinner order. My girlfriend had the drunken haddock which came with only lemon on top and two sides. I don't know why it was called drunken when the only taste was lemon and was over cooked and dry. It cost about $23. I ordered the lazy man's lobster which cost $59. I had no problem with the cost. What I did not like was the portion, I was given 1 lobster tail that probably only came from a 1 pound lobster and one additional little piece that wasn't longer than an inch. I could not believe what I was served. I brought this the attention to our waitress. She was also amazed. I complained to the waitress to try and resolve this inequity. The waitress went back 3 times to the owner. The waitress would come back from the kitchen and gave me 3 different excuses from the owner. First the waitress told us the owner said they ran out of lobster claw meat. I asked why this was not disclosed to me apon ordering. The owner finally came out to our table. I expressed how upsetting this was. I asked her about my portion and she insisted that she had served a tail and half. I finally was compensated for our meal after much resistance from the owner. Another thing I forgot to mention, was that she grabbed my fork and moved my lobster tail trying to show me that I was wrong the quantity was more. I couldn't believe that she did this. There is no need to swindle your customers. I went to this location and understand that the cost was going to be higher but I did not expect my portion to be so little. read more

Great and quick service and a nice hometown feel and taste. Came here on vacation and visited every morning for a week. Our waitress was friendly and gave recommendations on things to do in the area. my Husband and I were driving thru Winter Harbor last night and stopped here for supper. Husband ordered haddock dinner with French fries. The food was poor. French fries tasted like they had freezer burn, the haddock was not fresh. The Mac and cheese side was simply elbow Mac with a slice of velveta cheese melted on top, gross! I grew up eating here. 15+ years ago the food was the best around. The building is very cool and you can smell the salt air coming off the sound. Unfortunately the food is now terrible. Bland, over cooked and underwhelming. Everything is frozen then reheated or fried. They have a very large menu which was my first red flag. We went on their $5 margarita night. The margaritas weren't even good. I watched the waitress make them. They use the cheapest of cheap mix. One oz of tequila from an unmarked bottle and one oz of triple sec in a 16 oz glass with ice the topped the the very cheap mix from a plastic bottle. Won't be going back for another couple years. I took my husband here for a great seafood meal on his birthday. We were both terribly disappointed! I had ordered the "grilled" haddock as I cannot tolerate anything fried or breaded. I recieved a piece of pinkish colored haddock that was coated with a gloppy cornmeal batter and obviously "fried" in a frying pan...I complained as soon as the waitress returned and she took it away...I had exactly one bite and it was not taken off the bill. I was charged full price and an extra $1.75 for a salad because the hot veggie offered was not available and was changed to Spinach (yuck!). My husband ordered the "deep fried" flounder. His meal came with 2 identical pieces of perfectly evenly coated fried fish...obviously by taste and appearance pre-processed food that came to the restaurant frozen. What a total waste of $35.00!!!! We arrived around 5:30pm on a Tuesday evening, and there were plenty of open tables. We waited quite a while before anyone even offered to seat us. The gentleman who finally greeted us asked if we had made reservations and was a bit gruff in stating the reservations were required for parties more than 4, and there were only 5 in our party, but he did reluctantly agree to seat us. We were then left sitting for at least 15-20 minutes without anyone even bringing drinks or asking if we were ready to order. When we told the gentleman we were planning to leave, he rudely responded "good". Very poor customer service. read more

So although my friend had eaten here years ago and not been impressed, we decided to give it another try as it was the only option left. Annoying loud music was blasting from the bar entrance. We were told to "sit anywhere" by a waiter that seemed completely uninterested in being there. We asked about vegetarian options and were told "that is a tough one." Really? Not everyone eats seafood. We ended up ordering a salad, sweet potato fries and a pizza. The salad was a joke ~ iceburg lettuce with 1 tomato wedge and a couple pieces of carrot. Blueberry Vinaigrette dressing was the best part of the salad. Sweet potato fries were quite good but the pizza crust was completely undercooked. Totally overpriced. Don't waste your time or money! Hi! This is my first time ever posting on Yelp but I'm doing it because I feel so taken advantage of. I ordered the Lobster BLT . It was good but I was shocked when the bill came and it was $35!! I get it, it had lobster but $35?! I felt super taken advantage of. I should have asked the price since it was a listed at market price. Based on the other restaurants in the area and other sandwiches I had I expected 15-20. I feel like this restaurant takes advantage of tourist. Service was okay. Very cute spot. Food was delicious! We highly recommend the lobster omelette - excellent, hearty serving - and the Monte Carlo breakfast sandwich, which was also very filling and a unique take on a breakfast sandwich. There was only one waitress for the entire place (which was packed) when we went, however she hustled and made sure everyone was taken care of.
