Everything was sooooooooo good omg I would fly back to Maine just for this!!!! Thank You The Early Bite

The Early Bite -- or as I like to call it, The Overhyped Bite. Trendy, crowded, and apparently fueled by Instagram rather than scratch cooking. The food was okay -- tasty enough -- but the portions were small, and the prices seemed to assume I was dining on a rooftop in Paris, not in a side alley. My matcha latte had potential but zero balance -- all grass, no grace. The regular latte was equally meh, more like coffee-scented milk. The Shakshuka was decent but nothing to write home about, and the blueberry pancakes (which everyone raves about) lost some magic once I noticed their "secret ingredient": Golden Malted pancake mix, spotted upstairs near the restroom along with a lineup of pre-bought ingredients and juices. Mystery solved. Which brings me to the biggest question: if nothing's made from scratch, why does it take 30 minutes for the food to arrive? Maybe the wait time is part of the experience -- slow food meets pre-mix café chic. To be fair, the service was friendly, and the vibe was fine if you like dining al fresco in a blah alley with a side of hype. Bottom line: decent flavors, kind staff, but more style than substance. If you're chasing trendy brunch photos, it delivers. If you're chasing real scratch clean cooking, keep walking.

    French toast, shakshuka, and burrito!

Unique food prepared with real attention to quality. Truffle potatoes delicious and possibly best latte in town! Thanks Chris and Aiden.

However, we weren't too tired to eat it, so we had the food delivered from Side Street Cafe. So glad we did it that way cuz it was terrific... and easy to arrange ! My hubby ordered their Cubano sandwich while I ordered a cheeseburger. He loved his Cubano, which came with a side of mac 'n cheese. The mac 'n cheese was light in flavor, I think because of the kind of cheese used. I prefer more flavor, but it wasn't bad either. My( burger was quite large, and it was really tasty... very nicely seasoned beef patty, and it had all the things I like... cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle.... and catsup. I was very happy. It came with fries, but I had my fill of fries with all the lobster rolls I had ordered along the way, so I didn't eat them. Plus, there was a slice of blueberry pie calling out to me, so I wanted to blow my calories with the pie... and so glad I did cuz it was another spectacular piece of blueberry pie. Against my will, I split it with my hubby. Lol. It was a great way to end our meal. (Turns out we never got dinner that night cuz we were so full from such a nice lunch.) Side Street Cafe is definitely going on my radar if we're ever fortunate enough to return to Bar Harbor.

The staff at Jordan's was so kind and welcoming, and the food was amazing. A little pricey for diner breakfast, but everything was delicious. We were seated quickly, and I ordered some coffee. I ended up buying the mug that my coffee came in because it was so cute! And they had a little store up front so I couldn't resist. I got a classic breakfast, which was delicious, and my friend ordered the blueberry pancakes because we were in Maine! so, duh. I snuck a couple bites of the pancakes and they were so rich and yummy. Highly recommend ordering them if you go here.... And getting the blueberry compote to go with it! It's a couple dollars extra, but so worth it. If you're looking for that classic diner, warm and welcoming, breakfast experience, Jordan's is the perfect spot.
