Maybe the best sandwich I've ever had!!! So much flavor also great music playing and located right in town. Perfect to grab to go before a hike at Acadia

Clam chowder and the ONLY acceptable oyster crackers at Lunch in Bar Harbor, ME.
Frank P.

I love this place SO much. I recently took the family on a trip to Maine. We only had one day in Bar Harbor and Acadia, but our trip was 100% planned so the timing allowed us to get to Bar Harbor at just the right moment to, well, get lunch at Lunch. Their sandwiches are incredibly tasty and creative. But my god, their clam chowder is to DIE for. So, so, so good. Plus, really nice atmosphere in their little establishment and the staff is so friendly. Cannot recommend this place enough. Wish I could be there more.

#2 panini: grilled tandoori chicken, curry slaw, chef's roasted garlic aioli
Clare C.

This was exactly what I was craving for lunch!! It has the most perfect lunch sandwiches. I ordered the #2 panini with grilled tandoori chicken and roasted garlic aioli. It was delicious! Perfect crisp and crunch of the bread with the wonderful garlic aioli. Inside has some places to sit and it is cute inside. The food took about 10-15 minutes to come out. Prices were very fair for ~$13 for the sandwich. I left so happy and wanted to come back! Love it here!

Mortadella pesto

Very cute space with a very friendly staff- have a sandwich or salad to please most people. We got the pesto mortadella and it was really good. We added balsamic and i think it needed it to cut the richness but it came out fast and hot. Great spot after a hike'

Lobster roll

Stopped by here for lunch while we were wandering around Bar Harbor. Lunch Bar Harbor is nestled in the midst of the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. We were in the hunt for highly rated lobster rolls and this place came up. It's an order at the counter situation and they'll call out your name to pick up your food. They have seating inside but it is limited and pretty basic (ie: this isn't a place you go to for the atmosphere). My dining companion and I ordered lobster rolls, a cup of clam chowder to share, and potato salad to share. The lobster rolls are made Maine style (cold, lightly mayo coated lobster salad served on a toasted split roll). They had ample lobster and were tasty. The potato salad was also solid. The clam chowder was seriously out-of-this-world. It was absolutely the star of the show. I'll be dreaming about that chowder when it's the middle of winter in Wisconsin. The service was a little short and not overly friendly--but I get it. It's the end of the tourist season and folks could just be a bit tired. The prices are also a bit high (two lobster rolls, a small cup of chowder, and potato salad = $95). That chowder, though.

#3 Italian sub on locally made Italian loaf

We loved this lunch spot! One of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The ingredients were perfectly balanced and the sub roll was fresh and delicious. Great friendly service and the food came out quickly. Order the #3 Italian sub!: CAPICOLA * PEPPERONI * MOZZARELLA * MARINATED TOMATOES * ROASTED RED PEPPERS * ONION * CHERRY PEPPER RELISH

#3 Italian

Nice little sandwich restaurant. The gentleman who took our order was originally from Ireland. He had a great personality and was super friendly. I got the #1 Italian sandwich along with a side of macaroni salad. My wife got the #3 Italian sandwich along with a side of potato salad. The sandwiches were very good and fresh. The pasta and macaroni salad were okay. There is only one restroom for either men or women. The door didn't quite shut properly but the restaurant was located in an older building. All in all a pretty enjoyable lunch.

#1 Italian

Was in Bar Harbor Maine and in the downtown area and ate down there but I wanted to try something a little further out of the main area and we found this restaurant. The menu is small and their hours are during lunch. I saw they had a good rating so we waited for them to open. I had the clam chowder and lobster roll and my wife had the #1 Italian sandwich with potato salad. I didn't know what to expect on the lobster roll but it tasted plain to me. But the clam chowder was very tasty and I would get it again. My wife's lunch was good. She couldn't finish the sandwich so I got the other half, did I say the lobster roll was small? The potato salad was different and had a good taste and I would get it again. Overall it was a good spot to eat and it was different.

Incredible salad. One that I can't stop talking about all day. Add the lobster salad on top. You won't regret it. Great service as well. Would highly recommend going during your trip to bar harbor

My family and I loved our experience here! The guy at the register was very friendly & helpful as we ordered. He gave us free samples of their soup of the day which was good. We all got paninis that were sooo good! I went with the #6 which was a triple cheese panini and my sister and dad both got the #5 which was a ham & cheese panini with apples & balsamic glaze. We also got a bag of chips to share, and everything was amazing! I would definitely return to try their Clam Chowder & the Lobster Salad Panini! The only thing that could be improved is the bathroom situation was a little dingy, but I still think this place earns 5 stars!

Tomato Basil Soup

If you've ever seen the Seinfeld episode with the soup nazi, this place will peak your interest. The homemade soup was phenomenal. A soup and sandwich shop with a set menu, it offers paninis and a variety of deli sandwiches. The gentleman that takes your order rings you up, dishes out your soup, answers the phone, and calls out your name, delivering your sandwich to you. He keeps the line entertained in the meantime..." feel free to talk amongst yourselves ". An old Irish gentleman with an accent he has a great line for each spam caller as well. The experience is part of the fun! The ham panini was delicious as well!

Butternut squash and apple soup - delicious!

We weren't able to get a reservation last minute so we took our luck with getting seats at their small bar. (Side note - we accidentally sat down at the bar at the more casual place next door before we realized we were at the wrong place!) The bar seats were very comfortable and we enjoyed dining there - there were 2 musicians playing guitars throughout the whole meal. I must commend the bartender for her amazing service throughout the night. Despite how busy it was, she was on top of things - even remembering to remind the host to turn on the overhead music as soon as the guitar players took a break. To start, we shared the tostada - very tasty, large portion of brisket & the mango pico very good. For our mains, I had the lobster moqueca and my husband had the filet. My entrée was delicious. The broth was so tasty with large chunks of lobster. My husband's steak entree was so-so - it came out medium rare despite asking for medium. He didn't really like the potatoes on the side either. Since my husband doesn't eat fish, there weren't a ton of entrée options for him. We still really enjoyed our meal and had no room for dessert. The meal was on the pricier side since we also had a couple rounds of cocktails but it was worth it. We liked the atmosphere and being in the action at the bar.

Lompoc is one of the most vegetarian friendly dinner spots in Bar Harbor…read more They don't take reservations and offer three seating arrangements: the patio, the bar, and a small inside area with four or so tables. I would have liked to sit outside on their cute patio, but it was full and the hostess said it would be a long wait, so we decided to eat inside. At first she directed us to a table in the bar but realized it was very loud (music and patrons) so offered to seat us in the other inside section. We had a view of a bocce match and the patio--definitely better than the bar, but not as nice as the patio. They were playing classic rock and the people at the table next to us asked to turn it down, and they were accommodated, which made for a nicer experience for us as well. The falafel wrap and Banh Mi (v) were very good and the chips can be substituted for a house salad or fries, which we did. The dressing was light and I enjoyed it. The highlight of the experience at Lompoc was dessert. Although there was nothing vegan on the dessert menu, our server suggested an "off the menu" rhubarb raspberry sorbet, which was excellent! And doesn't it enhance the experience when you feel like they're letting you in on something special?! I'd definitely return and try to get there early (4:30) to be able to sit outside.

The staff is always exceptionally kind and forthcoming with their opinions on the food which makes it known they genuinely enjoy it too. The last time I was here I got the bang bang chicken and was able to even get the spicy sauce in the side so I could control my spice level. The true winner for the night was a chocolate carrot cake from a local bakery in town. It was decadent yet well balanced and a hefty portion that I would have regretted if I finished entirely. This place has a unique vibe compared to all the other spots in Bar Harbor and has something for everyone. Do not miss this place when in town.

The toast was our favorite dish all week, with the mushrooms being perfectly cooked and the chèvre bringing a creaminess and slight funk to the dish. It was all delicious, and flavors were well-balanced, meaning acids and fats were paired well together. Food presentation was exceptional. Service was incredible, in that our waiter answered all of our questions and food came quickly. Additionally, my wife and I showed up at 5:30 and were promptly seated.
