In fact it was good no matter where I ordered fried clams. The best thing about Governor's Restaurant is that it was open an hour later into the evenings than most of the other restaurants in town. So appreciated that! However, the service was kind of spotty. My table (of 4) was left waiting repeately - for the rest of dinner to arrive, for it to arrive with the correct items on the plates, for the drinks to be refilled, and for the bill to finally arrive. Admittedly it was the last hour they were open. But, they only had a few tables to cover. Assuming they might need a larger staff.
