If I could leave this place 100 stars I would! We stumbled across this gem on vacation and I would come back just for more. The brick house melt is perfect and paired with the clam and corn chowder, it's the perfect comfort meal. Flavors were excellent! I'm sure all the other soups are just as good and service was great! Definitely don't pass this place up.

Incredibly good soup and grilled cheeses. Seasoned wonderfully, and for very reasonable prices

Ok. I'm not going to lie. When I first looked at the menu I actually headed next door to…read moreMargarita's to eat instead. Boy do I regret that decision! We came back the following night for a REAL treat... First of all, Tony was our server. What an absolute sweetheart!! He had nothing but fantastic recommendations for us. He was definitely not your standard "waiter". He spoke to us like we were regulars, which we appreciated, considering we were from Massachusetts. We ordered three of his suggestions: wings, fish and chips and the spicy margarita. Outside of what was recommended we also got the beer cheese and GIANT soft pretzel, bangers and mash and the creme brûlée. First off- this was my first time trying beer cheese, so I was beyond excited. I hate pretzels, however. Guess what?? They were BOTH SOOO GOOD!! The pretzel was the size of my giant head and was so soft & salty. It really paired well with the creamy beer cheese. I'd come back just for this appetizer every time. The wings too, actually! I was a little hesitant because I read the word "dill" on the menu but they really tasted more like Buffalo wings with a note of dill at the very end. I think I might be in love.... On to the main event! The Smithwick's beer battered fish and chips... WOW. It was a little different than I'm used to (which was a great thing in this case). The batter was thick and crispy (I'm used to thinner) and the haddock was super moist. Very fresh! I order this meal wherever I go and this is definitely in my top 3 (out of probably 50 others). I was hoping I could switch out the chips for fries because, well, I've never had traditional chips before! I must say I was pleasantly impressed though! They were the BEST and completed the dish perfectly. My fiancé had the bangers and mashed. He said it was good and very traditional. I did not indulge, so I can't relay that in my review. Last, we ended the meal with a MUST try....the creme brûlée. LEAVE ROOM FOR THIS DESSERT! The top was a hard sugar coating while the rest was truly a creamy dream. I might have to stop back in JUST for this before I head back home! 5 stars. Definitely. 6 stars for service!!

Since we came with our dog, we were seated outdoors. The outdoor seating is very vast and you are 8-9 feet from the next table. The views from the restaraunt to the Jordan Pond are excellent as well and make for a good dining experience. Service here is very good and prompt, which you will need after the hike. For food - we got the kale scenario and clam chowder. The clam chowder was excellent and the kale scenario salad was good as well but a little too salty. For the main courses, I got the lobster roll. It wasn't spicy or salty and was simply perfect. My son had the popover pie and he really liked the creamy taste of the chicken and vegetables. My wife and son had the local cider and they liked it. I had the blueberry lemonade and it was very sweet and they didn't have straws, which I didn't like. Overall, I recommend this restaraunt to anyone who is in the area.

I knew without a reservation we would likely have quite a wait time to get a table (which we did…read morehave to wait about 45 minutes or so), but we had just finished a long day of hiking the Bubbles then the Jond Pond loop so I figured we should try to get a table and at least try out the famous popovers. Plus it's a beautiful area, so why not sit down for a little bit and enjoy a meal? While we waited for our table, we explored the area a little bit and also explored their gift shop. There's plenty to buy, and they even sell their jam and popover mix which we bought both to take home for family to try. Once seated, we actually had quite a wait before someone came to take our order as well then there was a long wait for our food to come out also. After a long day of hiking with a toddler and a baby, I instantly regretted choosing to stop for food here. This is definitely not a place to go after being tired from a long day of hiking or when youre hungry or when your babies are ready to call it a day. If I'm being honest, the food wasn't impressive either. It was just okay. The popovers are nothing to brag about. I have never had or heard of popovers before so I didn't know what to expect but I felt they were a bit burned? I also felt they could've given a little more butter and jam with them as well. We also ordered pasta (so the kids could eat too). Nothing fancy there. But we ended with the blueberry ice cream for dessert and we were happy with that at least. Jordan Pond house is definitely a place you'd stop by for the views and to enjoy for historical purposes. 100% a place for tourists. It's a place I'd try once just to say I did it since I was in Acadia and likely won't get to come back, but I wouldn't necessarily come here for the food itself.

Spend that time wandering Main Street's shops, because the wait was worth the bite. The shrimp and scallop scampi arrived swimming in garlic, butter, and pasta (perfect fuel before a half marathon). My uncle's fish and chips delivered an actual deep-fried slab of fish, somehow golden and perfectly cooked. And then the seafood pie: crispy, flaky, golden on top in a way that looks borderline burnt but is actually just butter and scallops doing what butter and scallops do. This dish was basically chowder, piled high with fish... And some more fish, with a dash of chowder. Even the blueberry beer came through; we got Orono's Wicked Maine Blueberry Ale, packed with actual blueberries floating up and down. Yes, we paid tourist prices, but we got generous, delicious portions and full bellies.

I would definitely recommend the pizza and the fish and chips, those were winners for sure. The lobster roll and the clam chowder were delicious in the mini lobster bake, though the blueberry tart was unfortunately a little burnt.
