We considered splitting one but I like mine with lots of stuff and he prefers just mushrooms. Everybody was really friendly, the sandwiches came out really quickly and they brought them over to our table. Mine was the Bomb and had salami in it along with mushrooms onions and peppers. They were really good. We will definitely visit again and I may step on the wild side and try something different.

After I paid, I realized that they had not only charged me full price, they had tacked on not one, but two surcharges for the veggies. Nearly ten bucks for a grilled cheese with American cheese and a few veggies? Plus nearly 8 bucks for the onion rings. When I very politely said that I wasn't happy about the "misunderstanding" about the substitution, she said that it was OKAY to substitute the vegetables, she had never said that it would be the same PRICE. Seriously? They have the right to charge what they want, but the food was nowhere near good enough to pay that much. Not even close. Not going back.

Huge selection of drinks and a counter with all sorts of sandwiches and snacks. Lots of coffee options, too! THIS one is the brand-spanking new one. AWESOME grab and go selection: sandwiches, salads, pizza, hot case items, pastries, desserts. A guy in there was wandering around aimlessly yesterday... he mumbled to himself, "There's almost too many choices." Beer cave, fountain soda bar (which my husband laments there are none of in Ellsworth), coffee/tea/hot drink bar, also typical convenience store goodies. Besides my obsession for the variety and stupid cheap prices, I can't really get over how NICE the people are that work here. Maybe they are super-stoked about how AWESOME this new place is, too. GREAT PIZZA! Look for the 2 for $10 pizza coupons in all the local mailers. It's a steal.

It's been a while. I figured there would be new, and hopefully friendlier, staff. I was half right. There was new staff, but unfortunately, they were as unwelcoming as the last batch. This place has no prices on any of the premade sandwiches or pastries in their cases (why??), so we asked "Hey there, how much are your pies and cookies?". The employee was in the lobby sweeping and said "I'm not sure. Somewhere between $3- $5. Maybe more". She doesn't look up. Doesn't offer more clarity. She just shrugged this non-answer to us and carried on. It was awkward. So my husband, trying to make light of it, says "Sounds like it's up for debate so how about I give you $2.50" and this girl gives us a dour look and snaps "Well, I'm not behind the cash register so I can't look at the prices, can I?". So, we have now learned our lesson with this place twice. Not sure what it is about the culture there that results in such bad service years apart and by different people. We won't be returning.

The food is drool-worthy. I just ate half of a Sunrise Melt & half of their Tomato Bisque - both were divine! Rating: 4.3 Came to…read moretry this local restaurant for lunch as we were passing by the area from acadia. It's a small local sandwich/soup place. They have small parking space on the side of the brick building. Inside is a small space but has some seats, tables and counter to place your order. They do have outside seatings as well. The person running the front which i assume was the owner was very nice and attentive. We got the brick buoy, the bricklayer's catch, lobster bisque and the holy donut. The brick buoy was a toast with lobster salad on it. It was small portion but was tasty. The bricklayer's catch was like grilled cheese with some lobster meat. It was good but i feel like it could have been elevated if there were with mixed cheese like smoked Gouda and mozzarella or some more addition like onions, peppers and mushrooms and such. The lobster bisque was creamy, flavorful with hint of bitterness. You also get a toast to dip with which pairs well with soup. Would have liked some veggies or lobster meat in it but for the price it was still good. Service was excellent. The workers were very nice and attentive. I can tell that they really care about the place and even have a sign on the table to let them know about any complaints to make it right for the customers. Overall the place was good and it's nice to see local restaurant that cares about what they do and how they treat their customers. Only thing is that they still have some room to improve regarding to their food offerings. However i know that it's a newer place and who knows, their other menu may have been better. Either way I hope that they continue to provide excellent service and strive for polishing their menu.

I like the Blackened Haddock Tacos and the pretzel sticks. Pro Tip: get BOTH the "beer cheese" and the "beer mustard" and get extra of both. You might have extra, but you can use the extra on sandwiches tomorrow. The extra mustard is also great with cheese and crackers as a snack. The blueberry cobbler is fantastic! The peanut butter pretzel pie did not impress my husband; he said the pretzels themselves tasted cheap, like grocery store pretzels. I have been trying to get them to add a vegetarian pasty to the menu. They have almost nothing vegetarian in there, and a Greggs style cheese and onion pasty would also be extremely traditional and surely wildly popular. PLEASE ADD A VEGETARIAN PASTY!! And/or a fish pasty, which would also be very traditional. Oooh, what about a Stargazy Pasty with leeks and cream? Now, THAT would be traditional and would certainly get some media attention. I will raise my rating to 5 stars as soon as this place adds a good vegetarian or fish Signature Entree (preferably a pasty!!). That is literally the only reason they're not getting 5 stars, that it's way too oriented towards meat eaters. (They do have a grilled cheese toasty and a vegan garden burger, so I would still go there if you are vegetarian or vegan, but keep your expectations low when it comes to selection.)

A damn good pizza shop that has an almost vintage, late 70s, early 1980s decor. In an area of Ellsworth/Bar Harbor otherwise known for its craft IPA's, lobster rolls, and a dizzying plethora of seafood salad platters, Finelli does itself justice. Even on a Sunday night, they can do a brisk business & can sling it with the best. Their pizza comes with its sauce done circularly. And their half size meatball grinder should get a Silver Slugger award for its impressive enough portion size. Wow - it was good.
