What didn't go well!?!…read more Fresh from the airport, on a rainy day driving from Bangor to Bar Harbor for a weekend trip - we happened to pass this spot and decided to turn around and come back for our first Maine lobster roll of the trip. Didn't realize it had just opened that day - there were only two other people inside and it was very quiet. Still, staff were super friendly and welcoming. There is a fresh fish market area and the restaurant area. The fish market looked closed to us. The two people eating inside happened to be locals - who said they come at least once a week and purchase whole lobsters (we saw them come out on the tray) at market price (which was about $12/lb that day) and have them cook/boil them for $2. My husband asked to do the same and he ended up with an almost two pound lobster for $22 - unheard of for us as lobster is extremely expensive and not fresh. This one was caught like hours before he ate it. A bit challenging for him to eat - ha - as we aren't experts. But, he loved it. I chose to go with the roll and fries with an Arnold palmer with house-made lemonade. Sooo good! Best lobster I've ever had. We loved this place. Hands down the best lobster roll of my life. Delish. If you are anywhere nearby - stop here asap.

I had the hot lobster roll which came with fries and two dipping sauces (ketchup and a spicy tangy mixture). The roll was warm and buttery. My husband had the chilled lobster roll which he enjoyed as well. The fries were crispy and good as a side.

It's our first night here in Maine for this trip and we didn't bring much in the way of food as we head up to our camp, so we decided on quick and easy takeout. The staff was super friendly. I came in on the other side near the ice cream but was promptly greeted by the employee there and directed up the stairs. The girls behind the bar made eye contact and pleasant conversation. If I didn't have a car full of stuff and hungry kids I definitely would've have stayed longer for one of the delightful margaritas she was mixing up. She offered to let me wait in my car for the 20 min it would take for calzones, and she'd wave to me out the window when they were ready. Even more shocking, she actually did. Even with a restaurant full of people, I wasn't forgotten. She remembered to ask if I needed plates and sauces, so I didn't feel like an afterthought just because I was choosing takeout. Just a lovely welcoming meal that tasted as good as it looked. Don't sleep on this location or those delicious calzones! Thanks for making our night a little easier.

So happy we stumbled upon this place!…read more So you're out in the middle of nowhere in Maine...or it seems that way anyway...and you need gas, a snack or something to drink (or even may need to tinkle) and there is nothing for miles...right?! This store seems to be perfectly placed and has a little bit of everything. Seriously, we not only got gas...but I got snacks, drinks, a sandwich and even some wacky socks, a few other souvenir items and whoopee pies! Yes, they have restrooms too! The great news is, even with not much around in the area...the prices are fair. Plus, the staff was friendly, helpful and personable. It's a convenience, but it's a welcome break/sight for the traveler passing through...and indeed convenient! OK...so here's the deal: Getting a cell signal in Maine in general is slim. Please look this place up on the map. Better yet, use the "earth" or the satellite option...you'll see what I mean! If you feel you may be driving through this area, I suggest you note or write down the address so you can put it into your GPS and add it as a stop along your route. It can be worrisome when you don't see a place and knowing this place is here will help put your mind at ease. Note: There is a Dunkin' Donuts inside as well, and it has its own yelp page.
