    Donor salad with chicken

What a great find! Excellent food and even better environment, at a reasonable price. I had the Donor Bowl with chicken, and my husband had the lamb and beef skewers, and then we shared a lentil soup. Neither of us eats rice so they gave us extra salad. They also let us try the wings, as they did not have enough for an order (make sure you get there early if you want them!) and they were really amazing... juicy yet crispy outside. The owners were also extremely welcoming and accommodating -- it's such a relaxing, friendly atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

    Grilled Skewers (beef / lamb)

Food was tasty, but eat-in ambiance and space are lacking. We liked the chicken skewers, beef/lamb skewers, and fish sandwiches. Doner sandwich, not so much. I think they sell extra sauce, but the meals need and should include more. Maybe this is primarily a take out place and we just didn't realize it, because we ate in the restaurant and pulled together 2 of the 4 tables and we sat next to the counter where a friend of the staff was sitting there chatting with the cook. Kind of a weird vibe.

Came here for lunch. It wasn't good. We ordered inside and went to seat outside. Ambiance is very laid back. They have a few indoor tables and a few outdoor tables. Service was ok. They just bring food out for you. That's all they do. Unfortunately food was very disappointing. Lentil soup was very watery. Chicken bowl had almost no chicken. Not a great place to go. I would skip it if you are in the area.

    Lamb + Beef Skewer

Casual place - in a very good way! Turkish food was great. Had the lamb/beef skewer. Great taste combo, with seasoned meat and just the right amount of grilled/charred flavor. Yogurt sauce was fantastic! Red cabbage salad also excellent. Family owned, with very friendly service. Recommended.

We came here for dinner as we wanted a quick bite after being out all day and saw they had vegetarian options so got excited. We got lucky and were able to get a table to sit at. It is a bit small inside but there are a few tables if you want to dine in. The service was just OK - you order at the counter and they will bring the food to your table. My friend and I both got the falafel sandwich with fries and it was just ok. the falafel inside wasn't cooked that well and the outside was extremely crunchy and a bit overcooked in our opinion. The fries were not salted but they were fine. Not sure that I would go again if I was near by, or I would get something apart from the falafel for sure.

After hiking Bubble Rock in Acadia, we wanted a healthy meal and Limon Grille was the perfect place! The lentil soup was delicious and seasoned just right, and the grilled chicken skewers meal was fresh and satisfying. Friendly Turkish staff made us feel welcome, and we genuinely enjoyed our meal.

The food was great. I ordered the kofti. My son loved the chicken wings. The staff was very friendly. They felt like gentle souls.

We stopped in Limon and promptly received service. There is limited interior seating, but it is comfortable and cozy. There are outdoor seats to the left of the restaurant. The menu is simple, but contains a number of good offerings. We both elected for the chicken skewers and added a side of hummus. The pita bread and hummus was excellent. The chicken skewers were thigh meat, which was not our preference. Thigh meat can lean a bit on the rubbery side and this was no exception. Certainly still edible and to be expected, but not the same texture one expects when envisioning chicken breast. The chicken skewers came with a large piece of pita bread, a side salad, rice, and what seemed to be a yogurt, cucumber, lobster sauce that was surprisingly quite good! We enjoyed our meals and highly recommend.

The food is decent. They put plastic little mermaids or animals in your drink, including adult cocktails. The kid's Shirley Temples were the size of fishbowl. We ordered steamers, fresh of course, so so tender. Kids got fish and chips and chicken tenders. The fry on the fish was crunchy, not greasy, and delicious. Adults got lobster Cobb salad and seafood pie. The seafood pie was outstanding. The lobster Cobb made me miss the lettuce. It was a small side salad size. It was not worth the $42 entree price for it. Overall it's worth trying but don't expect spectacular, and plan to walk out with a tshirt.

Spend that time wandering Main Street's shops, because the wait was worth the bite. The shrimp and scallop scampi arrived swimming in garlic, butter, and pasta (perfect fuel before a half marathon). My uncle's fish and chips delivered an actual deep-fried slab of fish, somehow golden and perfectly cooked. And then the seafood pie: crispy, flaky, golden on top in a way that looks borderline burnt but is actually just butter and scallops doing what butter and scallops do. This dish was basically chowder, piled high with fish... And some more fish, with a dash of chowder. Even the blueberry beer came through; we got Orono's Wicked Maine Blueberry Ale, packed with actual blueberries floating up and down. Yes, we paid tourist prices, but we got generous, delicious portions and full bellies.

Galyns was recommended to us by the local receptionist do the hotel where we were staying in Bar Harbor. We arrived for an early dinner at 5 pm and from the initial greeting we felt like we were in someone's home. Their menu is seafood heavy and inventive. We settled on a whole lobster as an appetizer ($36 market price) which was buttery, succulent and super fresh. The rice pilaf and broccolini that it came with were the perfect accompaniments. For the main course, my partner ordered a grilled salmon and I ordered the haddock with a lemon caper sauce. A week later and I"m still savoring the haddock. Flaky and slightly meaty, the sauce was just zesty and frothy to invite you back for another bite. The capers was an added touch and really brought the dish together. As far as the grilled salmon, you can't get fish fresher than what we had. The hostess was kind enough to steer me through a refresher course on how to crack and eat lobster (with a big on of course!). The waiter was skilled and professional, knowing when to interject, provide suggestions and provide options to make our overall experience even better. I would definitely return and can't say enough good things about the restaurant. Happy eating and bon appetit!

However, we weren't too tired to eat it, so we had the food delivered from Side Street Cafe. So glad we did it that way cuz it was terrific... and easy to arrange ! My hubby ordered their Cubano sandwich while I ordered a cheeseburger. He loved his Cubano, which came with a side of mac 'n cheese. The mac 'n cheese was light in flavor, I think because of the kind of cheese used. I prefer more flavor, but it wasn't bad either. My( burger was quite large, and it was really tasty... very nicely seasoned beef patty, and it had all the things I like... cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle.... and catsup. I was very happy. It came with fries, but I had my fill of fries with all the lobster rolls I had ordered along the way, so I didn't eat them. Plus, there was a slice of blueberry pie calling out to me, so I wanted to blow my calories with the pie... and so glad I did cuz it was another spectacular piece of blueberry pie. Against my will, I split it with my hubby. Lol. It was a great way to end our meal. (Turns out we never got dinner that night cuz we were so full from such a nice lunch.) Side Street Cafe is definitely going on my radar if we're ever fortunate enough to return to Bar Harbor.

We sat outside in their patio because it was such a nice day, though their indoor seating also looked nice. But the highlight for me was the pie. Such a perfect balance of crust versus filling, crystallized sugar on top to add a sweet crunch, and a nice generous scoop of vanilla ice cream to go with it. I regret not coming back here at least one more time before we left Bar Harbor to get it again. All the more reason for me to plan another trip, I suppose! :)
