Fries & Blueberry Popovers
Tony G.

Overall this place seems like a super no frills lunch spot if you're just looking to get something quick. They have a pretty wide variety of sandwiches and "fun fries". Ordered some regular fries which were nice and crispy. Definitely hit after the hike. Also got some blueberry popovers which I feel the term popover is used very loosely for. Super fried/cinnamon sugar exterior and a creamy blueberry interior. Definitely enjoyable, but not sure if it's really a popover? Also not pictured, but had a friend's other half of the crab melt which was solid though my friend found it extremely underwhelming. Service is fine. Cashier was nice and energetic. Overall would recommend this place if you're not looking for a sit-down/waiter experience and just trying to grab something quicker after a long hike. Probably makes for a lovely lunch on a warmer weather day by the pier.

Buffalo chicken sandwich
Angelo B.

Sandwiches are tasty with a generous amount of toppings. Ordered a buffalo chicken one which was stuffed with chicken. Really flavorful as well. It was on the small side though and unfortunately doesn't come with fries (fries are sold separately and are quite pricey... over $10 depending on size). Small inside with minimal seating. Just a few seats at counters. Don't believe there's a restroom either. Fortunately there is a park across the street so we just ate there. They do have a bag charge which is state mandated. That's fine but I think the purpose of this is to discourage bag use... the lady just auto charged me for this when I placed the order even though I didn't need a bag. Parking in the area is meter only: $4 an hour

Fries and dipping sauces.

Yum! Fries out in five! Amazing fries, service, music, and vibes! Definitely coming back.

Lobster Mac n' Cheese & The B.T.C w/ Lobster.

A little expensive but worth it. The B.T.C & Lobster Mac were incredible. Definitely worth a try. Service was good. The restaurant is small, some standing room but with views of the harbor who wants to stay inside anyway?!

Crab roll!

Quick turnaround, light tasty mayo on a toasted bun. A little deceiving having the scoop sit atop lettuce and seeming to be more plentiful (instead of pushing down into the bun) but it hit the spot to nosh on counter side on a hot day. Little pricey but most stuff is 'round bar harbor.

This is the best lobster roll I have had in Bar Harbor; the best out of the three places I tried in the area. I got their foot long 4 oz lobster and crabmeat roll. Personally, I like the butter melt more than the mayo. Their lobster tastes fresh and very delicious. Their scallion lemon mayo was light and didn't mask the freshness of the seafood. I really like their fries which were crispy and perfect size without being too thick or dense. Highly recommend trying their sandwich if you're in the area!

Caprese Melt

After starting off a trip not feeling well, I was finally craving some food when my friend recommended Melt. I was not disappointed! The caprese sandwich hit the spot! It's a grab and go vibe with a few high top seats inside. The staff was friendly and the sandwiches came out fast and hot. It's right off the Bar Harbor commons so you can eat on the lawn overlooking the harbor. Enjoy your sandwich!

Mac & Cheese Melt with lobster

Bottom line if you don't have time to read this--GO TO MELT! This is easily one of the best places to get food in Bar Harbor. I recently stopped in and I'm mad at myself I didn't do it sooner. Their sandwiches are incredibly delicious. They absolutely know the appropriate types of cheeses to use because they were stand-out good. I went for lunch here three out of the four days of my recent trip. I tried both the Mac & Cheese Melt and the Ultimelt and I can't say enough good things about them. Their Mac & cheese on its own is delicious but add it to this sandwich and it's even better! The bacon on their Ultimelt is done perfectly crispy, and it doesn't taste microwaved like the ones a lot of sandwich places use. For lobster lovers, you can also add lobster to any sandwich! I did this every time I went and it was an amazing edition to both sandwiches. I haven't tried their fries because frankly, the sandwiches are generously portioned and I'm always plenty full on one of them. But the fries also look unique in the different ways they serve them so I'm sure they're good. Stop into Melt and you won't leave disappointed.

There are myriad choices downtown Bar Harbor; it's tough to make an impromptu decision. I had, like many out of state travelers, a traditional New England lobster bake on my mind, but my family had other interests. After perusing several of the venues on Yelp, we were walking by Melt and before I knew it I was walking alone as my family pining over their menu. Lobster bake would have to wait; this was our lunch spot! The vegetarian in our family loved her caprese sandwich, no lack of crispy bacon on the BCT, tasty shaved steak on the Philly, and I had the Day Tripper. I probably should have read the reviews a bit closer, because instead of one roll topped with a combination of crab and lobster it was two rolls: one crab, one lobster. We got some of their seasoned fries (which start with a base of thinly sliced steak fries), delivering creative toppings such as crushed Cheetoes. I can only add to my Yelper peers glowing reviews of Melt! Hopefully my image of the Day Tripper helps others realize how much food this is and what they're committing to. If you're debating what size of fry to get, we recommend a small and suggest it can be shared by two people. The sandwiches are so rich and filling, most likely you will not be needing more.

The food was very good, the service was quick, and we were able to eat right away. I will definitely come back here when I go to Bar Harbor next!

Best lobster roll right here- OMG! If you are in downtown Bar Harbor (before 3pm!!!) and you want some quality food for a good price, go to MELT! They are on the hill right near the park by the waterfront. Let me tell you, my kid drug me in this place for some fries and WOW was I surprised by this little gem. Yes, their fries and sandwiches are real good (they just need to add regular ranch to the dipping options) ---but I stumbled on perhaps the best lobsta roll in BH right here! I asked for mine hot & they had no problem hooking me up. Let me first say that I have been roaming around the island and trying the lobster rolls wherever I go. I have gone everywhere from the main "drag" to a remote -traveling -(popular) pound in the middle of the woods and this place simply Rocks!! The PRICE is EvEN better than the "pound in the woods" and honestly the roll was way better!! The freshness is guaranteed as they have a solid connection with a local fisherman. The entire staff is as friendly as they come & they will undoubtedly address any issue that you might have. JUST go & give them chance! - you won't regret it I almost forgot to mention that the blueberry poppers are to die for too. Simply delicious

Loaded fries

We went because Yelp said it was great. The loaded fries were awesome but that's the only dish that we'd come back for. The Philly had no onions or peppers. The portions are large enough to share if you're not starving.

I had the burger special which was fucking fantastic! I was getting pretty tired of seafood at this point and it was the most refreshing change of pace. It was one of those just in time food experiences. C went for the crab cakes. What a gorgeous version of crab cakes they were! Fancy pants presentation and all things considered some of the best crab cakes we had on our trip. Bartender was really friendly and was super proud of their whiskey/bourbon collection. He did point out a few bottles to us that were really quite special and hard to come across. They had some Penelope variants that were unseen to me. I would come back in a heartbeat. If I lived nearby, I would be here all of the time. There were a ton of interesting menu items I would like to try. '26 - 26

Tidbit! The Anchorage Motel manager warned us with a whisper: "It's where all the tourists go. But…read moreit's good. It's really good." She wasn't lying. It was worth the 45-minute wait. Spend that time wandering Main Street's shops, because the wait was worth the bite. The shrimp and scallop scampi arrived swimming in garlic, butter, and pasta (perfect fuel before a half marathon). My uncle's fish and chips delivered an actual deep-fried slab of fish, somehow golden and perfectly cooked. And then the seafood pie: crispy, flaky, golden on top in a way that looks borderline burnt but is actually just butter and scallops doing what butter and scallops do. This dish was basically chowder, piled high with fish... And some more fish, with a dash of chowder. Even the blueberry beer came through; we got Orono's Wicked Maine Blueberry Ale, packed with actual blueberries floating up and down. Yes, we paid tourist prices, but we got generous, delicious portions and full bellies.

I would definitely recommend the pizza and the fish and chips, those were winners for sure. The lobster roll and the clam chowder were delicious in the mini lobster bake, though the blueberry tart was unfortunately a little burnt.
