Sooooo yummy! I got a bacon butter smash burger and it was so good. I was very impressed at how the burger was simultaneously so juicy, but not soggy at all. They must have packaged it really well in the paper that they use. I loved the fries too. The fries had really good salt on them (the chunky kind). Prices are pretty good for Acadia. I spent a little over $20 for a big burger (two patties) and fries (generous portion) and tip. Ambiance is fun- this is a permanent food truck with outdoor seating. There was even a little shade. This is actually a food truck in an airstream trailer on the side of the road. Totally cute! Picnic tables, and the road isn't very busy. We got a Classic chicken sandwich, and a hot dog and fries. An unassuming patch on the side of the road casted with the shimmering presence of an airstream trailer, ordering off the whiteboard menu at this no-frills stop, made for a really great Hot Honey Chèvre sandwich, was a mouth melting bed of sprouts pillowed with some cucumber slices lies a beautiful golden brown fried chicken thigh with a creamy chèvre on top. This is a food truck on a permanent lot with some tables. The menu consists of fried chicken sandwiches and burgers. Coleslaw is the only vegetable available (aside from fries). Generally I think less items on a menu is a good thing, and the classic and truff chicken sandwiches were both some of a best we've ever had. The fries are good if a little heavy on salt for our taste (in pretty sure they're made to order so I'd just ask for less next time). They deliver food in neat to-go boxes that are very convenient in the car, and the wait is not bad at all at 15 minutes. read more

You wouldn't believe that one of the best foods you can eat around Acadia national park will be at Quietside Snacks. As soon as you enter, you are immediately met with memories of childhoods past with smells of bbq and campfire smoke. Both a straight forward and "simple" menu are always a green flag for me. We ordered the spicy chicken sandwich, the classic cheeseburger, fries, and mozzarella sticks. Everything, another green flag, was not oily, rather it was packed with great flavors. What an unexpected surprise! The only food truck we've seen on the island and it's delicious! Set in a vintage Airstream, the menu is not seafood heavy like everywhere else (as a vegetarian that makes me super excited!) I had the grilled cheese with red pepper jelly and apples and it was great, hubs had the fried chicken tacos which he loved. And the French fries were some of the best I've had! And I like a good French fry... if you are in Quietside (or lucky enough to stay on this side of the island) this is a perfect lunch spot. We ate here a couple times in 2021 and I know we had chicken and waffles because I still think about how delicious they were! I know my husband had the tacos. We ate here twice in a week because it was so good. Driving by this year, I didn't have time to stop but I saw they expanded their seating area and it looks so inviting and lovely. I couldn't stop this week but cannot wait to visit in August. The "order online" feature is a nice amenity and the options look so good this year! We had the mac and cheese with fried chicken breast (chicken was seasoned well and fried to perfection) and the burger (two griddled patties with plenty of cheese and lots of flavor). We forgot to order the fries until we received our food, so we dashed back to fix the error. The fries were worth the extra wait - handcut and salty. Even though they are working from a limited menu due to staffing shortages, the food was still delicious. We got the fried chicken sandwich, smash burger, and veggie burger. The fried chicken was great, and the smash burger was tasty. The veggie burger was only ok but the toppings and glaze made up for the pre-made patty. We stopped here for lunch after visiting the Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse and had an amazing lunch. The shrimp taco was by far the best I've ever had and it was HUGE; almost the size of a burrito. My wife loved her fried chicken sandwich and my kids devoured their chicken fingers that were a special the day we visited. I don't know what they do to their french fries but they were delicious; no ketchup needed. We visit MDI in April every year and are so excited to have found this wonderful spot that is open this time of year; we will definitely be returning to Quietside Snacks our next trip. read more

We had the jerk pork tacos with a bit of cheese and cole slaw on a toasted tortilla. The owner invented this and it was really tasty. Not real hot like jerk can be, in case you're concerned. I notice that the page for this small resto says "many vegetarian options". There ARE vegetarian options, but NOT MANY. It is mainly seafood and meat, along with some sides.
