This place came highly recommended, so unfortunately, we left pretty disappointed. We were visiting Maine hoping for seafood, but there was no shrimp, fish, or lobster available. We were told they had been extremely busy over the weekend, but having such limited options was still disappointing. The only seafood option left was the haddock chowder, which was under-seasoned. The buffalo Brussels sprouts were also a complete disappointment--we left them after just a couple of bites. With such a limited menu, we ended up ordering a burger. I asked for it medium, but it came out overcooked. We also waited for someone to offer ketchup, but no one did, so we ended up borrowing the ketchup container from an empty table. Food is still a 4 or 5 stars. This time we had burgers, fries and beers and all three of us were more than pleased with our food. We arrived with a dog, and was told we would have to wait (which was fine). A picnic table opened up and a couple (with a dog) walked right to the table and sat down after talking to a different waitress. I told the customer that we were waiting for that table and she pretty much said, "oh well." When I brought it to the attention of the waitress who seated them she said, "what do you want me to do, ask them to get up?" That was exactly what I expected her to do, but instead she did nothing. We are in town visiting with a rather large group and the staff here were so accommodating! We did call ahead, but they are very busy, so it was really wonderful they were able to seat our whole group. The place is very nice inside, not too big, but not too small. Let's begin with the ambiance! Schoodic peninsula is gorgeous, we rented hybrid electric bikes and ended at the Pickled wrinkle, which was suggested to us from a local. The restaurant is tucked away from the main road and has plenty of seating inside and out. Nice little bar area decorated very nautical and cute. The star of the show was the blueberry margarita - WOW! That alone was 5 stars. The food was decent, we got a salad and some chicken tenders and then the Brussels sprouts. As you walk in, they note that it might take extra time to make your food because it's a small kitchen made to order but we were pleasantly surprised at how efficient they were! Wait was too long, and staff was not very friendly. (except the bartender outside). The music was so loud, we could barely hear each other. I did like the food. Got a pizza and the Nautica Burger and the bacon was crisp as ordered. So get your food to go. My biggest gripe is the lack of a secure lock on the women's bathroom door, which opens directly into the dining room. The door lock apparently doesn't work, so instead of fixing it, they just placed a note to also use the sliding lock. If you don't see that, you can be walked in on as you're sitting on the thrown (as I was). Management-do better. read more

One of a kind establishment. Something that you really should try. We were here 8 years ago and are back since we were nearby. So the wrinkles are carnivorous sea snails. They are pickled. The story goes that years ago as the fishermen were starving during a bad fishing season..., the locals survived on pickled wrinkles. We stopped in hoping to get some seafood based on past yelp reviews and pictures. Their menu was definitely more Pub/American style as they mainly had pizza and burgers. They had a crab roll special and a crab cake special. We got the crab cakes. They were delicious but barely a small amount and was $27. We ended up down the road at Bunkers afterwards to actually get seafood and it was MUCH cheaper and very good. The local draft beer was good and they had a great selection . Since it's almost Halloween, they had fun Halloween decor inside and outside. They had a cute candy station by the front door and cobwebs, skeletons, and purple lights hanging inside. I ordered the Wisconsin cheese turds as an app owns they were perfectly fried and cheesy. Don't sleep on these curds. For my entree, I got the Nautical burger with fries. It came with 100% natural Maine beef, sharp cheddar, bbq sauce ( My fave) , and crispy bacon. It was a delicious bbq burger and did not disappoint. I would definitely order this again. My friend got the black and blue salad which was also delicious and highly recommended. They have a full bar so you can pick your alcoholic beverage of choice. We had a good supper while we stayed in Winter Harbor and toured the coastline. My partner's gluten free pizza was very good except the standard gf crust distributed by Sysco and similar companies needs to be improved. That's not this restaurant's fault but their supplier needs to do better. My crab roll, one of the specials, was nothing short of amazing and considering current rates for crabmeat, fairly priced. To me the 7 PM closing is too early but maybe their customer base fades as the evening progresses. We met a couple from Colorado who chose to eat there, but too late. One evening we chose it but then found the early closing and we ended up elsewhere. This is my only negative vibe! The interior atmosphere and our waitress were fine and there was acceptable outdoor seating. We'd love to be able to return. Alas, we live and summer too far away. read more

Not only did we scope it out ahead of time, but the owners of the cabin we stayed at also recommended them. First of all, as native Wisconsinites, we are very particular about our cheese curds. These cheese curds were incredible. The breading was delicious, and the curds inside were piping hot but did not stretch and still squeaked. They were utter perfection. We asked for a side of aioli with them and that was the perfect pairing. The fall cocktails were also incredible. The blueberry cosmo was so delicious. That's a drink you could keep having throughout the night and enjoying. Not too sweet and a great wild blueberry taste! My husband and I shared 2 entrees and both were incredible. The fresh crabmeat roll was the best one we had all week, and the fries were yummy and plentiful (took some home for a late night snack). Came here while on vacation at the recommendation of our AIRBNB host and it did not disappoint. Being a non seafood eater and visiting Maine (I know I know haha), options were limited for decent food. This place delivered. And they had cheese curds!! I love cheese curds and good ones are hard to come by! I had the PW burger, kids had the pizza, hubby had the drifter. All rave reviews. I agree with other people about the porta potties (I honestly would've rather my dgt pee on side of the building then use them) and I hope they open up soon. The service was friendly and fast. Well worth the trip despite being "Pick Up" only on a chilly & blustery late February afternoon.
