Maine Chick opened back in May 2025 and I started following them on social media around that time. I love to stay connected to what is opening up all over the state to have good options all over. I love me a chicken sandwich (especially fried) so I knew this was a spot I needed to eventually check out. Finally got a chance to visit while up visiting family and we walked here for lunch while enjoying the beautiful Bar Harbor weather. They had a reasonable priced menu with a good amount of choices even including a grilled chicken sandwich for those not wanting fried. Besides the sandwiches they also have wings, tenders, nugs, salads and more. You order at the counter and get a number to bring to your table so they can find you. Seating options are great with some available on ground level but also take a walk up the beautifully painted stairs to their second floor. Definitely a spot that provides you with some great vibes and views of downtown Bar Harbor if you get seats near the windows. Sandwich wise I was very pleased with the Blueberry Chick. It had a great balance of sweet and spicy from the blueberries and jalapeños. It's honestly what I think you should get to have the most Maine experience here due to the blueberries! For your side snag one of the seasoned fries option, I enjoyed the lemon pepper. My wife got the Skinny Chick and thought it was okay but not blown away. Their fried sandwiches definitely shine more. We ordered at 12:15. Assumed it would be 15-20 mins max. 30 mins later still waiting. After over 30 mins we still got our food and the chicken looked like it was covered in the breading still. The fries were barely warm. They had at least 12 baskets of food that were in the warming window waiting to be delivered. Main area of store has the registers, where you order and pay, and some tables and chairs there. You place your order and pay at the registers and take a number to your table. Once your food is ready, it will be taken to your table. They have lots of better-than-fast food, fast food-like options, including chicken fingers, sandwiches, French fries and salads. They also offer a variety of dipping sauces, varying in heat and flavor. We got some chicken fingers, French fries and a few drinks. Everything was good...but while the chicken itself was super-crunchy, it was lacking seasoning (basic salt and pepper). I know many sauced-chicken places typically under-season their chicken as the sauce will provide the desired flavor...not uncommon. We opted to sit upstairs which had a ton of tables and chairs...much more space up there. There are even some outdoor tables on the balcony area. Bathrooms were very clean. Made to order so expect for your order to take a bit, but it was fresh and hot so...better that way. Had the tenders. I found the chix itself of excellent quality. A little under seasoned and over breaded for my taste but good. Buttermilk biscuit was excellent. Son liked the chix burger. Mom liked the side Caesar. Staff were super friendly. Opened late night which was perfect esp when the town closes early. Went with the bar harbour chicken sandwich bc duh. The chicken ceaser wrap and loaded truffle fries. The chicken sandwich was soooo good!! The chicken was cooked to perfection and breaded perfectly. For picky fried chicken girl I would def get this again. The loaded fries were def loaded, great in small portion but their portion was huge. The Caesar wrap was heavy on the dressing, so if that's your jam this wrap is for you! This was almost a 5/5 experience! The food was great, super flavorful and high quality. Unfortunately, I'm deducting a star because I was charged for tap water. I understand charging for bottled water, but if I'm asking for water out of a sink, why are we charging for that? If you go to any other food establishment, tap water is free. This place had some of the BEST music around. And the staff was also really friendly. You order at the counter and they bring your food out to your table. The chicken tenders were melt in your mouth and tender. The fries were the bartered looking kind which I love! They give you a biscuit with garlic Parmesan spread on it which was really savory. The Mac and cheese is SO cheesy! We thought it could be a little warmer but still delicious. The flavor on the maple buffalo was a great combination of sweet and spicy. We stopped in for lunch on Labor Day and were promptly greeted at the counter. We ordered lemonade, a Nashville, and a blueberry chicken sandwich. The fried chicken was excellent. Perfectly crispy and generously sized. The fries were equally impressive and we remarked they were some of the best we ever had. The only minor detraction was the coleslaw. A bit watery and lacking the expected flavor, but it does say it is a ranch based slaw. Other than being a different take on slaw it held its own! read more

The chicken was just okay. The chicken strips were good, but a little dry. The nuggets were just different - they claim to be handmade with white and dark meat each day, but the texture is just weird and whatever they use to hold the meat together was slimy. The service was lacking enthusiasm, and the girl taking our order didn't seem to know the menu well. What got me, though, was that we spent $95 on four meals and five drinks, and they said they don't give free refills of the Pepsi drinks for dine-in customers. She took the untouched food back to the register to have it remade without sauce and the lady was very rude, unhelpful, and refused to replace my mom's food.
