Looked for something close walking distance to where we parked that didn't have a wait since we had his parents with us. Not my top choice but was ok bar food. Lots of space inside and outside. This would probably be better for a drink or a small app pit stop and sit outside on patio kind of place. The lobster grilled cheese sandwich wasn't my favorite and couldn't finish it.

The first time I came was a great experience. Johnni was an excellent bartender who made one of the best drinks I've had. $15 for five buffalo shrimp seems a little pricey, however. The second time we came I had brought my husband with me and we asked to sit at one of the tables all of which were empty and they told us we were not allowed to sit there if we were only getting drinks. I explained to the bartender that he has circulation issues with his legs, and can't sit at high top tables. They still said if we were not eating, we were not allowed to. We had not planned on being there more than 30 minutes and we would have gotten up if they needed the table. I did not see the issue when the entire restaurant was empty. This is bad customer service and you lost a customer because we left. I can understand having this role when it is busy, but if the entire restaurant is empty, and there's not a single table set, you should be able to make an exception for somebody who is handicap. next time we will lie and say we're going to eat and then just change our minds.

Really tasty and diverse menu options. They had beer flights, perfect for sampling local beers, and my family and I decided to create our own "tapas" menu for dinner. We devoured the pretzel (incredible mustard and beer cheese chips), the lobster waffle fries (which were even better with a little extra salting), and the Nachos (if you're a chili fan, you'll love these). Our waitress, Paige, was quite helpful, playful and kind. Liked the outside patio where we could see shops we wanted to visit. Inside was nice and cool on this warmer day, and the bathrooms were clean and well stocked.

The place has a great vibe, music, wood ceilings and rafters. My wife and I split a chicken salad sandwich with fries, tasty. The craft beers (Octoberfest Duck Pale) were refreshing. Service was good.

I had been here a year prior and had a great experience both visits. The food was pretty solid, good service, and a great place to people watch if you sit outside!

Hey, all things considered we had a good lunch here on a very typically busy day in Bar Harbor. The large restaurant is right on Main Street and has seating on the rooftop, inside and on a covered patio (where we ate). The patio is right by the sidewalk, so it's terrific for people watching while you're eating or drinking. They have a fine beer list of locals and imported, so enjoy. It's casual dining, to be sure, but our lunch was tasty: a BLT ($13) that was stuffed with yummy tomatoes and crispy bacon on nicely toasted bread; a chili bowl ($10) just spicy enough; and a cup of New England clam chowder ($8), quite agreeable and not as thick and jammed with potatoes as we've found elsewhere. It took a while to get service, but once started it was ok. They have a big menu and we (obviously) sampled only a few items.

It's a great place for drinking and large groups. The beer selection is good. They have beer from all over Maine. We didn't have any food so not sure. The service could be a bit friendlier and more attentive. It's a bit slow here. It took a while for anyone to come by to take our order or refill water. Also the bathroom could use some cleaning. It's really filthy. P. S. The price for a pint or 6 beer flight is really high compared to most places. The patio is really nice though, and has a great atmosphere.

Great patio! Haddock was DELICIOUS! Friendly service. The waffle fries were not worth the up charge IMHO. Would come back!

Not my favorite. Husband loved his blueberry beer. My rum punch was very strong. Beer cheese fries were really good. My chicken breast sandwich came on toasted Texas toast when I was expecting a hamburger bun and also had a weird pile of mayo covered bacon I was expecting to be on my sandwich. Husband loved his burger.

However, we weren't too tired to eat it, so we had the food delivered from Side Street Cafe. So glad we did it that way cuz it was terrific... and easy to arrange ! My hubby ordered their Cubano sandwich while I ordered a cheeseburger. He loved his Cubano, which came with a side of mac 'n cheese. The mac 'n cheese was light in flavor, I think because of the kind of cheese used. I prefer more flavor, but it wasn't bad either. My( burger was quite large, and it was really tasty... very nicely seasoned beef patty, and it had all the things I like... cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle.... and catsup. I was very happy. It came with fries, but I had my fill of fries with all the lobster rolls I had ordered along the way, so I didn't eat them. Plus, there was a slice of blueberry pie calling out to me, so I wanted to blow my calories with the pie... and so glad I did cuz it was another spectacular piece of blueberry pie. Against my will, I split it with my hubby. Lol. It was a great way to end our meal. (Turns out we never got dinner that night cuz we were so full from such a nice lunch.) Side Street Cafe is definitely going on my radar if we're ever fortunate enough to return to Bar Harbor.

While visiting Bar Harbor, my friend, and I stopped here for lunch after a long morning of hiking in Acadia. It was the perfect comfy, carb loaded meal that we were looking for! I got the create your own mac & cheese, and it was delicious. Such a huge serving, that I probably could have shared it! Our server was also lovely and so helpful while deciding what to order. We sat outside in their patio because it was such a nice day, though their indoor seating also looked nice. But the highlight for me was the pie. Such a perfect balance of crust versus filling, crystallized sugar on top to add a sweet crunch, and a nice generous scoop of vanilla ice cream to go with it. I regret not coming back here at least one more time before we left Bar Harbor to get it again. All the more reason for me to plan another trip, I suppose! :)

The Precipice is absolutely delicious, whether you order it hot or iced. The fresh-baked popovers were another highlight served piping hot from the oven with blueberry jam and butter. They're absolutely delicious when still warm and fresh out of the oven and they bake them pretty much all day, so they're just about always fresh. One of my favorite ways to enjoy them over the years was to get the maple butter and blueberry jam and mix the two. The flavors of the butter, maple and blueberry all complimented the savory flavor of the popover. However, this year I was disappointed to see that they no longer are offering the maple butter, even for an upcharge. Please bring this back, it really took the popovers to another level! Maybe whip it into thawed butter instead of hand mixing it to make it easier? The whipped butter is easier to dip in and spread anyway. The new pre-packaged / mass produced butter packs take away from the appeal of a freshly-made popover. Sometimes in the morning it can be a little crowded in here with people waiting for their coffee / drinks to be made by a counter not far from where you place your order, so if you're walking in and haven't ordered yet then check if the people standing around are just waiting on coffee or waiting to order. It would be a nice improvement to see some separation (maybe with some ropes or floor markings) to make it more clear who is in line to order and who is waiting for their beverage to be made. It's worth noting it's takeout only and there's nowhere inside to sit, but there are some benches just outside on the sidewalk where you can have your popover and coffee.

Off the beaten tourist path and open year round, PP lives up to the reviews and hype. We made a mistake our first night in Bar Harbor going to a tourist trap and getting a rubbery lobster roll and sad chowder. I did a bit of research online and found Peekytoe and was SO glad for it. While you don't get a water view, but a cute walk down the main drag, it is WELL worth the excursion AND HOW. My husband said his Crabby Patty was the best crab cake sandwich he ever had. I agreed in as I had the cake as an app. I also got a Halibut dish with pickled fiddleheads (a local green I might liken to okra for lack of other reference) and blistered tomatoes. It was moist, well cooked fish, amazing sides with phenomenal heightening elements. We also enjoyed our cocktails immensely. GO if you are a foodie and don't want a lame wannabe roll with some kids grilled cheese sides, DO this spot. SO well worth it. PS to manament - I know you do a brunch. MAKE SURE YOU DO A CRABCAKE BENEDICT. Your crab cakes are divine and with a slight seared crunch. Ideal. You can even do a lemon-fiddlehead or blistered tomato HOLLANDAISE. I'd be IN IN as I am sure most people would. The vinegary elements from the fiddleheads to (I think) my husband's pickled onion atop his crabby patty MADE the CRABCAKES THE STAR.

When asked for the WiFi password at the beginning of the meal, she said "I'll ask" and never got back to us until the end of the meal, when we had to remind her. When taking our orders, she specifically asked if we wanted cold butter or warm butter on our lobster. While my friends wanted cold butter, they got warm. Food was subpar. While the price for lobster here is cheaper than most places, my lobster ended up being very rubbery. Partner ordered a pineapple ginger juice, and it was VERY heavy on the ginger and tasted "off", like drinking kimchi. I didn't care for the sweet potato mash, it did not go with the dish (lobster) at all, but the cucumbers were ok. Portions were uneven. My friends got the same lobster as I did, and yet they got significantly less lobster. Finally, while I know this wasn't a restaurant problem, I feel as they failed to act accordingly. One of my friends went to go to the restroom, and saw a man laying down on the floor. Staff were notified, but the staff seemingly did nothing; we asked the staff for an update and they just shrugged us off (because we were concerned for that man). If you're wanting to try lobster for the first time, DONT come here - spend a little bit extra on more reputable places, because this place was not it.
