It gets busy fast and they don't start serving popovers till after 9AM. It's a quick to go coffee shop. They have some different blueberry flavored options like scones, pies, crumbles, teas. They also have huge cinnamon rolls and sandwiches. It's a nice place to swing by for a quick snack. They also have some glass masterpieces and stuffed animals for the kids. The Stadium is conveniently located on Main street with all the shops and is very close to the park by the water. This was nice because it is a to-go only coffee shop. I visited twice on my trip and had the following: bacon, egg and cheese sandwich, white chocolate blueberry Danish, Nutella strawberry banana crepe, blueberry lemon scone, and an iced chai latte. I highly recommend the Danish and would have preferred to get this both days but sadly it wasn't there the 2nd day. It had a creamy and flavorful filling with a touch a sweetness from the white chocolate drizzle. So good! The egg sandwich was a close 2nd to the Danish. The buttery roll was the perfect pairing to the egg souffle, white American cheese and crispy bacon. The crepes were large and very filling. I really liked how thinly the strawberries and bananas were sliced so there weren't any awkward big chunks falling out. While staying in the area and exploring Acadia National Park, I stopped by The Stadium twice on two separate days. During my first visit, the line was long, but it moved fairly quickly. I ordered the precipice latte which was a white chocolate latte with blueberry. I had never heard of such a combination before and I was intrigued. The latte was OK, but the blueberry ended up being too sweet and I was not a big fan of this particular beverage. On my second visit, there was no line and the service was extremely fast and friendly. During that visit, I ordered a blueberry lemonade and their infamous popovers with maple butter and blueberry preserves. The blueberry lemonade was extremely tasty and refreshing. The popovers were warm and I thoroughly enjoyed the blueberry preserves. They do not offer any in-house seating or restrooms, which is unfortunate. There is a large public parking lot down the street but like any place in Bar Harbor, it can get a little crowded. But if you find yourself in the downtown Bar Harbor area and looking for a beverage or a bite to eat, come check this place out. read more

The downeaster with perfectly cooked lobster meat, fluffy egg, and aioli might've been one of the best things I ate while in Bar Harbor. Sooo worth the $18 with the generous amount of lobster meat in it. The brioche bun holds everything in so well. We enjoyed our breakfast down the block at the harbor area. Then they put a soufflé egg inside which was a little too big for one of my friends but if you like to pack a punch with protein, this is the sandwich for you. Hot chocolate was good, could be a bit better mixed with the chocolate, the first half seemed too milky for me. My friends bubble tea though was great she loved it! I was really excited to finally try the famous popovers I'd heard so much about. I ordered one along with a small coffee, and was shocked when the total came out to $12. That alone was mind-blowing, but hey -- tourist town, tourist prices. Part of the deal, I guess. Then came part two: there was nowhere to sit. I asked if the upstairs was open (it was raining, by the way), and the woman behind the counter just said, "It's not open yet," with zero concern. It was 11am. No solution offered. So I had to take my overpriced snack to my car. I started eating it and immediately felt something was off. It tasted raw. It looked raw. So I asked my husband to drive me back. I brought it in and politely showed it to them. Their response? "That's what it's supposed to look like -- creamy." Sorry, what? I told her it tasted raw, and she just doubled down: "It's just doughy and buttery." Look, maybe I'm wrong and that IS how it's supposed to be. But if that's the case, then I guess I don't like popovers. I told them I'd just throw it away. They didn't care. No offer to swap it for something else, no apology, no effort to make it right. Good amount of lobster for the price. It's an order and go place. No where to sit and eat. They even have a bakery here. I was surprised when opening my wrapper and discovering a burger bun. Burger bun is big, you don't get the buttery toasted taste from it like you would with a roll. The ratio is a lot of bun to lobster. We came here for the popovers and left with 2 "The Downeaster" breakfast sandwiches which is 2 oz fresh local lobster meat and a 2 egg souffle with brown butter aioli & smashed avocado on a homemade roll. It's like a breakfast lobster roll without the lobster roll price. The egg was sooooper fluffy, the lobster meat was lobster-y and not overcooked, and the roll was warm and buttery. Five stars for the popovers and four stars for the coffee. We followed the popover reviews to this business to have a fluffy and fresh popover paired with blueberry jam and maple butter. It was fresh out of the oven and the steam was rising as we pulled apart the dough. I loved that they also sold pop over mixes and toppings in the shop. The space is conveniently located in the heart of all of the shops and restaurants. The only downfall was that the coffee tasted a bit burnt. We had a latte and flat white that both had a burnt bean flavor - similar to what you would find at Starbucks. However, I would still return for their delicious baked treats. The Stadium was so good, we ended up visiting twice during our trip! The first time, we came in for coffee/breakfast. There was a line to order, but it moved very quickly. We also got a Blueberry Lemon Scone and Breakfast Sandwich to share. The texture of the scone was great but the blueberry flavor could've been a bit stronger. However, I liked that it wasn't too sweet. The Breakfast Sandwich was also tasty and very filling. Service was quick and while there was no seating in the restaurant, there were plenty of benches along Main Street to eat on. The second time, we came in for lunch. We each ordered a Lobster Roll, as well as a Popover with Maple Butter to share. This time, we took our food into the nearby park and ate in the little gazebo. The Lobster Rolls were phenomenal - so flavorful and absolutely packed with chunks of lobster. They came in different sizes, but even the smallest size (4 oz, I think) was plenty of food. The Popover was pretty good too, but I'm sure they're even better in the morning when they're fresh. I enjoyed the blueberry sauce and maple butter though! The popover was good but very pricy at $6.00 each. And we tried a giant cookie at almost $5.00 for one. The staff was extremely busy and helpful and it was near impossible to find a parking spot as this area is busy and popular. After a really disappointing lobster roll from another place I had in Bar Harbor, I needed to get a win and the Stadium delivered pretty well on it! Got a 6oz roll and found it really taste. Pretty big chunks of buttered lobster on a pretty buttery roll was solid. My wife and I also got the popovers with maple brown sugar spread and that was also great. The lobster roll was $33 for 6oz so definitely pretty pricy, but a solid splurge when you're on vacation or treating yourself in bar harbor. The place seems like it's takeout only so they keep the line moving pretty quick. The cashier seemed nice and bubbly. Place also serves as a souvenir shop if you're trying to kill a couple birds with one stone. Overall, a solid spot in Bar Harbor to check out! read more

Stopped in during a rainy Wednesday towards the end of the tourist season. Parking was difficult but completely expected given the the location and limitations of a small town like Bar Harbor. Prices were more than I was used to, but as previous reviewers have said "tourist town, tourist prices". The staff who took our order were kind and engaging with our six month old daughter. We ordered a latte, clam chowder, blueberry doughnut, and popover. I thought the coffee was fine, but nothing special and the popover was good. My biggest issue with the business was that it felt like there was nowhere that we were welcome to eat our food. As we are trying to eat our clam chowder, an older adult male admonished us for eating around his "merchandise". It seemed it was preferential to them for us to eat our food in the rain. While in other grab-and-go lunch spots the problem is lack of space, in this establishment it seemed like they did not want to have any elevated lunch counter or standing tables because that would get in the way of their knickknacks and souvenirs that they were displaying on available surfaces. My opinion is that if you want to sell souvenirs then be a souvenir shop. I don't need to buy lobster playing cards in the same place I order clam chowder. The experience was fairly offputting and made it seem like squeezing as much dollars out of tourists was more important than providing the best customer experience. read more

And I don't know why this bakery and coffee shop is called The Stadium but I am darn sure that this place is awesome! Originally my husband and I popped in because we could get a quick grab-and-go breakfast (savory crepes and breakfast sandwiches) with coffee. That meal was delicious so we visited the next day again for coffee but this time also for a fresh baked cinnamon bun and chocolate chip cookie. We're both black coffee drinkers and we thought the coffee was very good. The display of baked goods is lovely and tempting. As a side note, this is the only place I have found in Bar Harbor that has a Coca-Cola soda fountain. As someone show really appreciates a fizzy Diet Coke, I was excited to see they had a Coca-Cola soda fountain. All of the employees were friendly. Ordering was easy and we we appreciated getting a buzzer to know when our order was up. The Stadium is to-go only. There is not any seating inside. On a nice day you could take a short walk to the local park and enjoy your email there. We were lucky to get street parking close by on a cold, rainy day. The Stadium has a link on their website for online ordering that redirects to Toasttab but I received errors from that site so I am not sure if online ordering is still and option.
