If you're looking for the best blueberry coffee and popovers in Bar Harbor, this is the place! After trying several blueberry lattes, I finally found the perfect one at The Stadium. The Precipice is absolutely delicious, whether you order it hot or iced. The fresh-baked popovers were another highlight served piping hot from the oven with blueberry jam and butter. They were light, fluffy, and the perfect complement to the coffee. The service was quick, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the location is ideal for grabbing a coffee and a bite before exploring the shops around town. I highly recommend stopping here if you're visiting Bar Harbor. It's a must visit for coffee lovers and anyone looking to enjoy a classic Maine treat! read more

We come to Bar Harbor every year and every time we're here we look forward to the popovers from The Stadium. They're absolutely delicious when still warm and fresh out of the oven and they bake them pretty much all day, so they're just about always fresh. One of my favorite ways to enjoy them over the years was to get the maple butter and blueberry jam and mix the two. The flavors of the butter, maple and blueberry all complimented the savory flavor of the popover. However, this year I was disappointed to see that they no longer are offering the maple butter, even for an upcharge. Please bring this back, it really took the popovers to another level! Maybe whip it into thawed butter instead of hand mixing it to make it easier? The whipped butter is easier to dip in and spread anyway. The new pre-packaged / mass produced butter packs take away from the appeal of a freshly-made popover. Sometimes in the morning it can be a little crowded in here with people waiting for their coffee / drinks to be made by a counter not far from where you place your order, so if you're walking in and haven't ordered yet then check if the people standing around are just waiting on coffee or waiting to order. It would be a nice improvement to see some separation (maybe with some ropes or floor markings) to make it more clear who is in line to order and who is waiting for their beverage to be made. It's worth noting it's takeout only and there's nowhere inside to sit, but there are some benches just outside on the sidewalk where you can have your popover and coffee. read more

Great breakfast sandwiches and coffee. Staff could be a little better, but nothing is perfect. To the lady who wrote not a good place for allergies to shellfish? Maybe skip all of Bar Harbor, holy cow. read more

This is the ONLY Bar Harbor business that gets my five star rating - SUPER friendly service, very fast, SUPER FRIENDLY (can't say that enough) and great tasting food. While I wasn't waiting around until 9am to get a popover (I mean...) I did get coffees and try some of their pastries and donuts, they were delicious. This place does takeout only, no seating, but that's totally okay because they're super fast and they even give you a buzzer so you know when your coffee/drinks are ready. That was unexpected and very helpful. The ambiance is lots of wood but you're picking up food and taking it elsewhere, this is not your new home but they will welcome you like it is. I would go back every day for every meal and be quite pleased I believe. GO HERE! read more

No because why did I not get a picture of the best donut I've ever had?!?! If you come here, you NEEEEDDDDD to get the blueberry donut, no questions asked or excuses given. Every single person needs their own too, I shared with my boyfriend and we actually wished we got a million more donuts. It was crunchy, fluffy, sugary, sweet, crumbly, OMG! Literally delectable. We also got drinks, he got matcha and I got decaf coffee (yes, decaf!) I didn't see it on the menu but I asked and they did have decaf, it was actually a decaf espresso shot I believe, not coffee. I HIGHLY suggest making your way over here if you have the time, absolutely worth it 100%. read more

Felt like a place for the locals, the stadium had it all - coffee, popovers, breakfast sandwiches, crepes, etc! Stopped by on the last morning in Bar Harbor and got an iced latte, popovers with blueberry jam, and a bacon egg and cheese on an everything roll. The popovers were light and fluffy, I really liked the blueberry jam and butter with them. I was also surprised by how good the breakfast sandwich was -- the roll was soft and well seasoned which contrasted well with crunchier bacon and fresh scrambled eggs. The iced latte was also pretty good, not too sweet and I could taste the espresso coming through. Great service, I'm not sure if there was dine in seating we just got takeout and sat at one of the benches outside to eat. read more

The Stadium hits you with that magical aroma the moment you walk in -- the kind that makes you seriously consider ordering one of everything. There are so many tempting options here: pastries, sandwiches, crepes, bubble teas, fancy coffees... it's basically a caffeine-and-carb paradise. We stuck to our usual lattes (we're coffee purists -- cream, maybe whole milk, no foam hearts necessary) and then did the responsible thing: shared a blueberry pie. Because when in New England, it's basically a moral obligation to consume something blueberry, lobster, or maple every day. The pie was perfection -- sweet, tart, buttery, and golden enough to make Paul Hollywood proud. The service was friendly and impressively efficient -- this place runs like a well-oiled espresso machine. The only downside? Nowhere to sit. But honestly, grabbing your goodies and walking to the nearby park to soak in the coastal view makes it even better. Bottom line: come for the smell, stay for the pie, and bring your appetite (and maybe a park bench). read more

The Stadium is conveniently located on Main street with all the shops and is very close to the park by the water. This was nice because it is a to-go only coffee shop. I visited twice on my trip and had the following: bacon, egg and cheese sandwich, white chocolate blueberry Danish, Nutella strawberry banana crepe, blueberry lemon scone, and an iced chai latte. I highly recommend the Danish and would have preferred to get this both days but sadly it wasn't there the 2nd day. It had a creamy and flavorful filling with a touch a sweetness from the white chocolate drizzle. So good! The egg sandwich was a close 2nd to the Danish. The buttery roll was the perfect pairing to the egg souffle, white American cheese and crispy bacon. The crepes were large and very filling. I really liked how thinly the strawberries and bananas were sliced so there weren't any awkward big chunks falling out. Overall I would definitely recommend stopping by for a bite while you walk around or look out at the water. read more

So good, worth the trip! We stopped in twice during our stay, each experience was excellent. The popovers are fluffy and delicious, the blueberry scone was very nice. Before we left New York for Maine, we put a list together of all the places that we wanted to try whoopies pies from. My family has been making whoopie pies for decades and every time I go to Maine, we try to find pies that remind us of the ones that we make! We tried their whoopie pie, which was very delicious, but we also ordered a popover. The popover and the blueberry jam/ honey butter were great! read more

we went too late so they ran out of blueberry donuts :( the menu was extensive and I enjoyed what I got: - the downeaster: loved the soft roll, along with the fresh lobster. the egg souffle was interesting too - leaf latte: was worried this would be too sweet but it was perfectly balanced, the maple flavor was a bit like burnt maple (in a good way) read more

While staying in the area and exploring Acadia National Park, I stopped by The Stadium twice on two separate days. During my first visit, the line was long, but it moved fairly quickly. I ordered the precipice latte which was a white chocolate latte with blueberry. I had never heard of such a combination before and I was intrigued. The latte was OK, but the blueberry ended up being too sweet and I was not a big fan of this particular beverage. On my second visit, there was no line and the service was extremely fast and friendly. During that visit, I ordered a blueberry lemonade and their infamous popovers with maple butter and blueberry preserves. The blueberry lemonade was extremely tasty and refreshing. The popovers were warm and I thoroughly enjoyed the blueberry preserves. They do not offer any in-house seating or restrooms, which is unfortunate. There is a large public parking lot down the street but like any place in Bar Harbor, it can get a little crowded. But if you find yourself in the downtown Bar Harbor area and looking for a beverage or a bite to eat, come check this place out. read more

The downeaster with perfectly cooked lobster meat, fluffy egg, and aioli might've been one of the best things I ate while in Bar Harbor. Sooo worth the $18 with the generous amount of lobster meat in it. The brioche bun holds everything in so well. We enjoyed our breakfast down the block at the harbor area. Their popovers were a little too soggy for my taste, but very buttery. My friend got a blueberry scone that she wasn't a fan of either. Go for this sandwich! read more

This spot is a take-out only place. The egg sandwiches are made on this amazing roll that's buttery and fluffy, and the inside is grilled. Then they put a soufflé egg inside which was a little too big for one of my friends but if you like to pack a punch with protein, this is the sandwich for you. Hot chocolate was good, could be a bit better mixed with the chocolate, the first half seemed too milky for me. My friends bubble tea though was great she loved it! The chocolate chip cookie was...not good. Our group just did not enjoy the flavor of it unfortunately. I love that they have a couple of artisan items for sale as well. read more

This is the place to stop and get your fill of popovers! If you haven't tried them yet then you need to. They are typically served with blueberry jam and butter. Delicious! Service here is good. It gets busy fast and they don't start serving popovers till after 9AM. It's a quick to go coffee shop. They have some different blueberry flavored options like scones, pies, crumbles, teas. They also have huge cinnamon rolls and sandwiches. It's a nice place to swing by for a quick snack. They also have some glass masterpieces and stuffed animals for the kids. It's fast pace and not meant to be a sit down place. read more

I was really excited to finally try the famous popovers I'd heard so much about. I ordered one along with a small coffee, and was shocked when the total came out to $12. That alone was mind-blowing, but hey -- tourist town, tourist prices. Part of the deal, I guess. Then came part two: there was nowhere to sit. I asked if the upstairs was open (it was raining, by the way), and the woman behind the counter just said, "It's not open yet," with zero concern. It was 11am. No solution offered. So I had to take my overpriced snack to my car. I started eating it and immediately felt something was off. It tasted raw. It looked raw. So I asked my husband to drive me back. I brought it in and politely showed it to them. Their response? "That's what it's supposed to look like -- creamy." Sorry, what? I told her it tasted raw, and she just doubled down: "It's just doughy and buttery." Look, maybe I'm wrong and that IS how it's supposed to be. But if that's the case, then I guess I don't like popovers. I told them I'd just throw it away. They didn't care. No offer to swap it for something else, no apology, no effort to make it right. Absolutely zero customer service. Super disappointing. So many other shops around to try -- I'd recommend skipping this one entirely. read more

Good amount of lobster for the price. It's an order and go place. No where to sit and eat. They even have a bakery here. I was surprised when opening my wrapper and discovering a burger bun. Burger bun is big, you don't get the buttery toasted taste from it like you would with a roll. The ratio is a lot of bun to lobster. The lobster was plenty and fresh but a little lacking in flavor and butter. It had a very light drizzle of mayo. Kinda made the burger a bit dry. It is okay. Some would like it, but not my first choice. My hubby finished my burger and thought it was good and fresh. read more

The popovers here are the best! They have always been a highlight on our annual Bar Harbor trips. Unfortunately, this year they got rid of the maple butter which left me very disappointed. The Stadium only offered baked goods and coffee but this was the best breakfast I've had during my visit in Bar Harbor. We tried the blueberry scone, blueberry pie, blueberry donut, and the popovers. The popovers were very good and a great alternative to the Jordan Pond House popovers! It was a shorter line too & they offered maple butter and blueberry jam with it. Keep in mind that they start selling popovers at 9AM (not opening time). We also recommend the blueberry donut and blueberry pie! Very delicious and captures the flavor of blueberries. There was no available seating area so we went straight to the park nearby to enjoy the view of the harbor. read more

The Stadium is conveniently located on Main and Cottage streets. We came here for the popovers and left with 2 "The Downeaster" breakfast sandwiches which is 2 oz fresh local lobster meat and a 2 egg souffle with brown butter aioli & smashed avocado on a homemade roll. It's like a breakfast lobster roll without the lobster roll price. The egg was sooooper fluffy, the lobster meat was lobster-y and not overcooked, and the roll was warm and buttery. The best part is you walk out the store, make a right, walk 1 block and you're on the park overlooking the bay. Natural ambiance. The Stadium was so good, we ended up visiting twice during our trip! The first time, we came in for coffee/breakfast. There was a line to order, but it moved very quickly. I chose the Precipice Latte (unbelievably tasty) and my sister got the Chunky Monkey Latte (also good, but the Precipice was better). We also got a Blueberry Lemon Scone and Breakfast Sandwich to share. The texture of the scone was great but the blueberry flavor could've been a bit stronger. However, I liked that it wasn't too sweet. The Breakfast Sandwich was also tasty and very filling. Service was quick and while there was no seating in the restaurant, there were plenty of benches along Main Street to eat on. The second time, we came in for lunch. We each ordered a Lobster Roll, as well as a Popover with Maple Butter to share. This time, we took our food into the nearby park and ate in the little gazebo. The Lobster Rolls were phenomenal - so flavorful and absolutely packed with chunks of lobster. They came in different sizes, but even the smallest size (4 oz, I think) was plenty of food. The Popover was pretty good too, but I'm sure they're even better in the morning when they're fresh. I enjoyed the blueberry sauce and maple butter though! Overall, loved this place - highly recommend a visit! read more

Stopped here to try the touted famous "popover"!! We tried one that comes with blueberry which is basically jam for dipping. The popover was tasty and freshly made. The jam was delicious. The popover was good but very pricy at $6.00 each. And we tried a giant cookie at almost $5.00 for one. The staff was extremely busy and helpful and it was near impossible to find a parking spot as this area is busy and popular. So plan on walking if visiting the area to get to just about any place in this area. The lobster is supposed to be great in the area but overpriced for my budget, so I took a pass. read more

Five stars for the popovers and four stars for the coffee. We followed the popover reviews to this business to have a fluffy and fresh popover paired with blueberry jam and maple butter. It was fresh out of the oven and the steam was rising as we pulled apart the dough. I loved that they also sold pop over mixes and toppings in the shop. The space is conveniently located in the heart of all of the shops and restaurants. The only downfall was that the coffee tasted a bit burnt. We had a latte and flat white that both had a burnt bean flavor - similar to what you would find at Starbucks. However, I would still return for their delicious baked treats. They had several other ones that were catching my eye during our visit. There's a cute little bench out in front of the shop to enjoy your treats! read more

After a really disappointing lobster roll from another place I had in Bar Harbor, I needed to get a win and the Stadium delivered pretty well on it! Got a 6oz roll and found it really taste. Pretty big chunks of buttered lobster on a pretty buttery roll was solid. My wife and I also got the popovers with maple brown sugar spread and that was also great. The lobster roll was $33 for 6oz so definitely pretty pricy, but a solid splurge when you're on vacation or treating yourself in bar harbor. The place seems like it's takeout only so they keep the line moving pretty quick. The cashier seemed nice and bubbly.
